Are there any apps that work to wake the device by double tapping or swiping? Or any way besides pushing the power button? I'm using hash codes CM11.

In my case, in Settings - Motion I don't see any "Double tap" item to configure.
I'm with kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513, gingerbread.uhke4.
Razr has a function that double tap the home button to open an app like dialer, camera etc.Can I double tap it to lock screen and how to do that??
And what stops you from pressing the side button made ESPECIALLY for that function?

Come'on seriously thats kind of a mean answer...
I don't know if that function is available but it would be cool, i would use it.
Homesmack will let you remap the double tap home function. You'll need to find an app that locks the phone, though.

Don't you find it a little uncomfortable to pressing side button all the time?

Depending on what ROM you are on, some have had success with home2

I've tried home2, but found it to be rather unreliable/laggy at times (using stock rom). I was hoping for a flashable mod of some kind.
I upgraded to the latest siyah Kernel today and the lock screen wakes very quick now.
One thing I always note though even before the upgrade, when pressing home to quit an app there is a noticeable second or two delay before the app responds to the button press.
Any ideas why this may be and if it's normal?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
it is normal because the home button has to wait if you click again to open S-voice or not , so there is a delay.
you can try to disable "double click to S-voice" , i did , and this delay just gone!
yeah, disabling S-voice double tap works.

I know lots of people got third party apps to turn off the Bixby button but now you can just turn it off on your own. See story

After update holding the Bixby button doesn't activate it anymore
