With unlimited internet, but 4g caps off at 5g, is there a way to remove this cap?
Sign up for unlimited 4g.

If there was, what would be the point of throttling? You can pay for unlimited with no cap.

Geez.. I thought my question was in a developer forum where there are hacks for almost everything. but I'm just getting tmobile in-store answers.

Your not that fast getting throttled, and no, that is a limit set by the company. You want a dev to go hack something inside the company for you? So pay up for unlimited 4g.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Let me dumb it down, your device is point B, T-Mobile network is point A, throttling happens at point A. Developers here don't mange the T-Mobile network

Please do us the favor and leave if you don't like the answers. The reality is, there are virtually no workarounds for getting unlimited on a not officially unlimited plan. If you have a problem with being throttled, pony up the extra few bucks to get unlimited with no throttling.

Not to cause trouble but how is that any different then the Tether Hack?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305118
That's an interesting point made. While certainly not apples to apples... the tethering hacks are 'stealing' from the carrier, just as warez 'steals' from the developers.

The tether hack is merely a t&c violation which is in a gray area. While there are those that abuse it, many folks using it actually use less data than those of us on tiered plans. There exists an argument that they are already paying for the data that they are using.
Conversely, what the op is looking for is theft of a paid subscription service, and is not a t&c violation. There is no gray area- it's a paid service for any and all who use itbeyond the trial.

Personally they are both almost the same. Tether plan costs higher than the caller ID plan though. Lol
Sent from my Galaxy S4 via Tapatalk
This is a interesting line and a good point to bring up. As I understand where both parties are coming from. Tether is also a paid service so is this caller iD app. To me it falls under the same category... Fine line idk?

I froze this app but I'm still getting full caller ID info. It's been two weeks since I got my phone.
Is it possible that freezing the app prevented this from getting shut off after the trial somehow?

What's weird still is that I liked the trial enough to purchase it for $3/month. I get alot of calls and realized how nice it was to know what company was calling, etc, when they have multiple numbers that they dial out from. I installed a new ROM which was debloated and it didn't have the app; I tried searching for the apps name to download it again, just to have what I'm paying for but couldn't find it. Without the app, I still get full caller id info, just no options to add it to my contacts. I realized it must be getting turned on @ Verizon, since they are billing me for the services.
This leads me to believe the app is just for adding contacts etc, so I'm guessing that "IF SOMEONE WAS SEARCHING FOR A H**K", which violates xda rules, that its probably pointless. I decided its just another $3/month, which is worth it and cheaper then a landline caller ID service.
I'm a Nurse, not a hacker or developer ( which I know are completely different things ) so this is JUST MY EDUCATED GUESS

If anyone could upload the app for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I know I can just download a stock ROM, that's not debloated and grab it, but thats a 2 hour download of 1.2gigs, just for the app since I can't locate the same app anywhere I've looked; and yes I HAVE SEARCHED FOR IT.
THANK YOU !!!

Are you being double charged for caller id? The people using the tether hack are already paying for their data.

If on unlimited data, paying for data only and tethering for free isn't an option from VZW. It's their policy whether we like it or not. I hate it but I pay for it.

I concur which is why I'm on a share everything plan. I tetheroccasionally anddon't usemore than8 GB a monthBergen all of our devices. Verizon is legally obligated to provide it to tiered customers at no extra charge, but still hits customers on the legacy unlimited plan with the fee.
That being said, is there a realistic difference between a customer who is on a tiered 4 GB plan who tethers and one who is on an unlimited plan who uses 3GB a month including occasionally tethering a tablet? Verizon's justificationto the FCC is that there exists the "potential" for unlimited customers to use a large amount of data.
As I've said, it amounts to a mere t&c violation for using their already paid for data in a manner that Verizon has said that is free only if they pay for less data.

There's actually a pretty strong legal argument that they can't charge extra for tethering to anyone, but that is off topic here.
Also, violating a contract is not illegal (i.e. criminal) or in my opinion, immoral. Theft of service is...and that is what we are talking about here.

Actually, since the topic of this thread is verboten, we may as well go with the tangent...
I suspect you're going in the direction of the Block C restriction. The FCC has expressly given Verizon the green light to charge unlimited customers for tethering in the consent decree that was issued last summer.

I disagree.....all you're doing is turning you're phone into a router to use the data that you're already receiving to the phone. A theft of service would apply that you are receiving additional data, which you are not....... you're pulling the same data to you're phone regardless its in tethering mode or not
Are you liable to pay the ETF if Sprint cancels your line due to roaming? I read a post on the Epic 4G Touch forum where someone said 50% of the people he knows that tried the PRL change to get out of contract had to pay the ETF.
I don't see how you would be responsible if they're the ones cancelling your two year agreement.
Also, I have 4 lines on my plan but only 1 of them needs to get out of contract. Will the roaming get just that line terminated or the entire account?
Thanks
Not that I know of. I've never seen them make u pay the ETF in that situation.

No, you are not liable if they terminate the contract.

If I have 4 lines on the account, do they terminate the single line or the entire account?
Thanks!
I've seen people in that situation where they just terminated the single line that was the problem. Now whether or not u could complain and say that you all have to go elsewhere because one got booted I don't know if they would help you or not.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Sprint should resolve this issue for you, would need to call their customer service line of course but by you signing an agreement with them staying that you would pay the termination fee also goes for them as well which states they wouldn't charge you the term fee if they were to break the contract. Also they would only cancel just your line since each number is actually on its own contact. Hope this helps

Hello fellow xda'ers! I hope this topic will be allowed here as I've seen it in other device forums. I'd like this thread to be a place for framily plan users to possibly recruit more members to their framily and save money. Simply share your framily id, last name and last four digits of your wireless number. I currently have two lines and would love to get more and start saving some money.

go to a sprint store and ask them to add people to your framily plan i did and they filled it up in a week (from 3)
Or use reddit. There's a subreddit already in place and plans are filling up withing a few hours. I'm about to switch to sprint and I'm using reddit for the framily Id

everything I can seem to find says you only get 1gb of data with framily plans. Is this true? Can I still choose unlimited Data?
If I am only getting 1gb of data, and I don't plan on using sprint easy pay, sounds like Framily might NOT be the best option at least for my family of users. Any feedback?

I don't know what you pay now but if you get on a full Framily it is $25 a line for unlimited voice and text and 1gb of data. . Add $10 for 3gb of data or $20 for unlimited. . I have unlimited so it's $45 a month before taxes or anything else I add.
Do you still have the $10 add-on fee for a "Premium" device? Taking the base bill to $45?
