[Baseband modem] NA4 Odin flashable - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Tested this out on my Note 3 after going back to 4.3 (MJ4) and it worked.
Enjoy!
NA4 Odin flashable baseband
EDIT: These flash BEST when on "official" software, meaning your Odin status should report official for both binary and system. I've found that this combination will allow basebands to flash.

Nice...

So, any advantage to rolling back if on NA4, or stay as-is?
I'm dead serious.

So I'm on toxic swamp 1.0.2 MJ4. Ok to flash this modem via mobile Odin pro?

You can try Mobile Odin. But in my past experience, it will flash just about anything but a modem

Some will say the greatest advantage to rolling back is being able to Odin back to NA4 again. My thought on that is, they are absolutely correct.

Ok to try, perhaps, as the wise blackcanopy indicated, not necessarily will succeed.

I wholeheartedly agree. I just did it in my sleep, and found that rolling back to MJ4 with this modem versus keeping this modem and the rest of the OS, the latter is a way better user experience.

Not Sticking
I tried flashing with Odin 3.09, 3.07 as well as Mobile Odin Pro. When I check in settings it still says my baseband is MJ4. Odin passes successfully on every attempt but it doesnt seem to stick.

Can we use mobile odin

It was suggested not to a few posts back but I tried it anyway. It didnt hurt any. After rebooting i checked and it still was on MJ4. So I dont think anything happened.

This is great! Was wondering if this would ever be yanked and able to flash...low and behold. Anyone notice a difference in connectivity compared to MJ4 baseband?

Rolling Back the Baseband to MJ4
Okay...
Here's how you roll back to MJ4 modem...
1. Do a backup, boot, system and data
2. Reflash stock MJ4
3. Reroot
4. Reflash TWRP 2.6.3.7
5. Restore boot, system, and data
The reason that there is likely no rollback option is because it's not sticking, as was rightly noted in the previous post by the gentleman whom, based on his pseudonym, appears to have a serious disdain for iPhones.
I hope this helps.

If you don't flash TWRP.
Or, if you do flash TWRP, some of the roms on the dev forum have system status indicating official...

Gotcha Thanks

So flashing this modem is or isn't showing a performance improvement on a stock mj4 ROM? The only way to go back to mj4 modem is to flash the whole mj4 ROM in Odin?

You could flash stock gingerbread and let Kies update you to ICS.
Otherwise, flash stock + rooted and use superSU to unroot.

Yes. The file is tar.md5 and is odin flashable as is. The md5 extension means Odin will verify file integrity before flashing. Use any version of Odin as far as I know, but I think version 1.85 was the most common one when our phone came out. Put the file in the pda slot. Have you ever used stand alone Odin?

If the replacement phone has ICS 4.0.4, that's not gonna do you any good. You need 4.0.3, and you need to be able to make sure it doesn't auto-update to 4.0.4. 4.0.4 is DEFINITELY what causes the SOD.

Odin from rooted mdk and recovery to bone stock me7?

Can I just download the tar of me7 the 1.6gb file or whatever. Open in odin and flash under phone?...
Should I have anything checked etc?
Im coming from mdk rooted twrp clean rom to bone stock latest ota.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Why not just Odin to mdk then just take the ota? Or flash the me7 ROM?
prshosting.org
I just figured It would be easier. If it can be done this way. To get a complete clean and stock install
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
I downloaded that and the one click mdk restore from sxt develop. Idk which is better to do
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
You dont flash under phone either. You use the pda option. But ya you can do either. Flash mdk then take ota or use the me7 file.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
And that'll remove root. Twrp and everything? I downloaded it from androidfilehost. From openyoureyes. Latest me7 tar its like 1.6gb..

I just want to restore to stock right so no hassle and no brick

Yeah itll be a bone stock phone afterwards. If you use the no wipe ones you will be left with your apps/data/and internal storage intact.

Whats the whole point of the triangle flash counter I read in other threads?. If you can just flash it under pda

It keeps track of custom rom flashes. I think samsung implemented it for warranty reasons. Dont think its present in the gs4 atm tho.

Yeah I just checked and noticed it. Never noticed it before but I use a different method to reset it anyway (when I had my s3 that is). This is from chains desc. of the app.
"TriangleAway*was built to disable the triangle (if a visual warning is present) and reset the custom ROM flash counter to 0."

Helping out here is like driving your friend to the tattoo parlor to get a severely ill-advised tattoo... Don't do it man! Or give me your address and I'll overnight you a bone-stock me7 and a prepaid shipping label to dispose of that icky unlocked one you've got But seriously don't do it, you're killing me.

Hello,
I saw your post and want to use safestrap to install a custom rom. I just don't have $750 laying around, so I need to be sure that I can reset everything to bone stock. I am running me7 firmware and have already obtained vrzme7nowipe.zip. I just HAVE to reset the flash counter if safestrap effects it at all. Can you please help?

Need help putting my Note 3 back to stock

Trying to put my Note 3 back to stock so I can get the Kit Kat update. Download the stock 4.3 firmware and used Odin to flash it. But as seen in the pictures, it failed. Now I can't even turn it on. When I do, it shows the message saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." Any help would be appreciated.

Problem solved, was trying to flash firmware version MI3. It doesn't work, because you can't downgrade to a previous version of firmware. I downloaded version MJ4 from www.sammobile.com and it worked perfectly.

You may not.. But I had problems taking the KK update OTA being as though I was 0x1. Ended up flashing the official tar file via Odin.

Had nothing to do with it ... There are two spots that need to say official in the phone and not custom ... Sometimes you may have to flash Rom in Odin boot into stock recovery factory reset and then flash the Rom in Odin again ... To get it to official and take ota without it failing
Sent from my SM-N900P using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Yea.. I did all that. Odin'd back to MJ4 stock. Factory reset. Confirmed both officials in download mode. Rebooted and tried taking OTA. No Buenos

Modems?

So I was on a 4.2.2 build for the longest time and wanted to check out a KitKat ROM. So after flashing it and not caring too much for it, I went back to my backup only to find out that I have no cell service.
Can someone tell me what I need to flash via Odin or possibly recovery to get my cell service back?
I'm on beans7 with 4.2.2.
Thanks XDA peeps! Much appreciated!

Since your on MDK have you tried flashing the MDK non-hlos modem? Not just the " modem only " one.
Usually flashing a new ROM doesn't effect your modem at all so I'd usually say that it's the ROM that's the problem. But since you've been trying different modems to try and fix the problem it may good to try the non-hlos one. Also make sure whatever recovery your using is up to date.
I've had to flash the MDK non-hlos then I used the phone for a few days and ended up flashing the NC5 one without issue.

If you use that tar, that will put your phone back to factory stock out of the box with the newest software version. If you are looking for the latest version of twrp, just Google and then you can reroot and then put twrp back on. Use Odin to do it all. Hope that helps. Now if you are already rooted, then yes, just find the latest version of twrp and then flash in Odin.
