AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.

Flash for yourself and see. Don't spam each and every thread with same question. If you can't test so many ROMs then just stick with stock ROM and lock your bootloader.
------------
@XperiaMT27 I've checked the PM but I can't reply in detail atm. Just remove the no_assert and persist lines-
Code:
--no_assert=$(skip_assert) \
--persist=$(persist) \
from build/core/Makefile and build should be good.
Build hellkat just the same way as CM 11 Sorry I don't have time to tell in detail due to exams
And BTW if you want to take over beanstalk also you are more than welcome. Just let me know

Features:
Slimbean ROM (www.slimroms.net) was founded with the Introduction of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean bringing the AOSP with famous cherry picks from CyanogenMod, CNA and AOKP code. As the name suggests for itself, this ROM is slimmed out, removing all the useless stuff. Slimbean ROMs are very little in size ~90MB but please don’t go on its size, since someone rightly said; “big surprises come in small packages“. The ROM features ASS (Advanced Slim Settings) based on the CNA Settings layout which can be viewed under System Settings of your device. ASS offers its users with high end modifications and custom features like Interface, Performance, Theme Engine support and Device Settings modifications. Apart from the features that this ROM delivers, it also provides you with Stability, appreciable battery life and performance.

To Xperia Sola users , I don't want any thanks, money or fame . i just wanted to increase knowledge and wanted this rom on Xperia sola.
To Mod , Instead of deleting thread just lock it and remove Download link. Don't delete this thread.

FAQs
Q1. Why don't you build newest version?
A1. I'll build them later. Please don't ask questions like build for new android versions.
Q2. How to boot to recovery?
A2. Keep pressing volume down when you see the FXP logo.
Q3. After first boot it keeps opening phone app or any thing that is on the left-bottom corner. I can't even reboot.
A3. Just press Vol Up.+Power button for 5 seconds, it'll reboot the phone and everything will work fine.
Q4. Why will I use this when there are other new version of android ROMs available for this device?
A4. Just 2 words, BUG FREE!! (Obviously except some very minor CM 10 bugs if any)
Thanks!

Old users are preferred as they can compare the performance change since I built this using linaro.
Also test if video recording is working on this build. If possible, do check how tethering works

I do update all the ROMs as soon as the sources are updated. I can't finish a ROM and say its final until it's sources and our patches got updated. I didn't got you what do you mean by finish here? Kitkat is new so sources will be updated so I guess there's a long time before any of the 4.4.2 projects are entitled as "FINISHED". If you haven't checked, I am providing each and every possible updated. I messed up with my local hellkat sources so its updates are delayed but will soon be released. Also I can't entitle it as stable since there are bugs present and the bugs are in CM 11 so its hard for me to fix them. I am trying to give updates and stability to each and every ROM. Again, Please let me know what do you mean by FINISHED here
And this is for the guys like @Warhoax who wanted hellkat like ROM but in blue
Cheers,
AJ

aaah now i get your point about the BETA bro, so its ok i understand your way now, i just wonder you know and yes i agree with that KK 4.4.2 is new and we need indeed all the sources to make it fully work without bugs and i mean with FINISH that it is a final product instead of a BETA
I know you do very hard your best to make your roms awesome like i do
I have respect for you brother, i was just curious about that
Daymn. I need to get dualboot on my xperia P....
I loved the speed of the hellcat rom, but the theme made me change to Carbon rom.
Which I now really like as it's really fast, and has amazing features (like the notifications on lockscreen :3).
And now you have this rom...- I cannot choose >_<!
Thanks a lot though :3. Going to test this rom right now.
Another Great Rom from you. i checked the OP, but can't find WORKING and NON WORKING. once again thanks :good:
Really fast and smooth ROM. :good:
Great work!
But i couldn't boot it with the provided kernel (the boot.img inside the zip), i had to flash the CM11 kernel.

Info
This rom is like beta version, most of the things work, there are still some bugs and glitches but ill try to find a way to fix them if i can.
Its based on Omnirom, STE specific repos from Aosx, some from XperiaSTE (CM-12), Agontuk's patches, and others from all over Github.
Build from this sources
Installation
Do the wipes, flash the kernel, reboot in to recovery again, install the rom.
I removed the "omni" boot-animation(for now) because it gives boot-loop.
Root Access
Omni does not include the su binary in it's manifest, so to get Root Access you have to flash SuperSU via recovery.
Credits
All included in AOSX project, XperiaSTE, Omnirom, gava97, agontuk, vaibhav98982 for testing, and me..

Awesome
Really awesome, guys! Is it suitable for dual boot? I can't use it as my only OS because of RIL not working, but I'd be glad to try it out and provide you some feedbacks and be your tester (if you need one, of course! xD ) !!
Why you dont help agontuk with his lolipop rom and make it more stable instead of posting another unstable rom? I mean this would be more effencive.
Ps: sry for my bad english ^^

I haven't tried "zoom fx", only the stock one.. and "open camera", and the both behave the same way, taking pictures is.. ~ok, recording video.. doesn't work, i.e. you can record, but only audio is ok.
Thanksss

need GApps?
not root?
GApps is needed (if you want to use Google services). For root you must flash SuperSU package.

I haven't tested with multirom, but basically no modifications other than cherry-picks from Gerrit. If you want to test let me know the results

Just tried lol
Installs OK I think no error but then does boot loop after staying on 1+ screen for a couple minutes and no boot in my test
But I'm not as experienced as others here..
I tried by installing it as additional ROM, not as primary
Normally when a ROM doesn't work with multirom, it gives an updater-script error, this one didn't.

Yeah I'm aware of that. I have already gotten cherry picks ready for tonights build Just seeing if I can squeeze in software/hardware key switching.

There are no kernels that work with OmniRom. This doesn't use the CM CAF tree.
Link posted for today's version. Hopefully I can get software/hardware keys in tonight's build.
Nice to see OmniROM Lollipop release for Bacon!
I apologise for asking about features, the reason being that these are not listed in the first post but are present in other "kangs", so what about:
- root
- center clock
- OmniSwitch
Thanks a lot @lolzballs, will keep an eye on this thread!

This is not a kang. It's whatever the omnirom devs are putting into github or gerrit
Are we not supposed to flash SuperSU? Maybe that's what messed up my flash lol

Yes you are supposed to flash SuperSU. BUT you NEED to flash the 2.39 beta version.
Any other version will result in the message that the binary is missing.
Chainfire included a fix for Omni5 roms that have no selinux or have set selinux to permissive.

As you took the time to post you might have answered to my questions, too.
Now, for the root it has been told, what about the other two features?
I'd like to try OmniROM if those bits are in already.

Omniswitch is in, but I haven't tested it. Not sure about center clock yet.
