Ok so I've been ring to upgrade my wife's phone to a new 4.3 rom. Loving Jett rom so far however I'm having problems with the 4.3 tar file. I'm faltering all the steps to flash it in odin and the rom inrecovery. Every time it would boot up everything would work great except text messaging. Sometimes It would receive a text but it would never send. I wiped everything including a factory reset from the settings menu with no luck. Only fix is to odin back to 4.1. And do a factory reset.
I thought it might be the rom so I flashed a few with the same results. So I tried just flashing the firmware tar file to check and booted into stock rooted 4.1 and could not send a text message. So I narrowed it down to the firmware package. I've tried downloading multiple times from different sources each time and checked the md5 same thing no text. If anyone can help me figure this out I would appreciate it.
So its been a bit is there anyone who is having this problem or possible know where I might start to try and fix this problem?

Need Help!!!
Background:
Was stock ED01 went to Com Rom 2.0. On OTB 1.5 kernal and voodoo enabled. Started having MMS issues (not realated). Anyways I flashed the DI01 Odin All-in-one. Did not disable voodoo. My problem now exsist with the market. I can not download any apps. They come up as an unsuccessful download. I factory reset a few times and re-flashed the Odin file. OTA to new ED04. Still had issues. Called VZW tech and we facotry reset again and this time used a different google account and now everything worked fine. But this is not a solution for me. I reset again and re-entered my original account info and had problems again. I cleared market data and also signed in and out of G-Talk. Anyone have any insight into why this is happening and how it is only tied to my google account?
When you flashed back to Dl01 did you also do the atlas_pit in PIT file and check repartition box? I know that has been a "cure-all" when you want to get all the bugs out and start fresh.

Yes. Multiple times. It's something with google and the market, I guess. Trying to figure it all out. Thinking maybe something with the new Ti Backup
I'm on Com Rom 2 and my phone reboots when I try to use the market.
I wiped everything to install the Rom. Everything else works fine.

Sup,
So, I flashed mutliple custom ROM's when I got this device like any other crack-flasher would but I then realised I much prefer it to be running stock with root access until an AOSP ROM comes along.
So I came from Omega 4.0 to stock LE8 in the UK, ever since I've flashed this stock ROM (Which is odexed) I keep getting the message "Sorry, messaging has unfortunately stopped" every time I open the app. I've tried wiping data/cache/dalvik and flashing in Odin again, same issues. I then went back to another custom ROM (HyperGalaxy) then went back to stock to test, still the same.
I have also tested an inverted AOSP 4.0.4 Mms app which worked on Omega, but didn't work on stock (Got the same message)
Data of the Messaging app has been wiped, i've disabled the app, rebooted, enabled again, still the same issues.
I've searched and I found 2 other threads with the same thing, but noone has been helpful enough yet.
It seems like the phone still thinks its running a Deodexed ROM but I need to get it back to full working order since I need to text something.
Any help is appreciated.

Probably didn't make it clear enough, I did that already. 3 times to be exact.
i have the same issue. Need help.
i get this message with multiple apps.
all of them are standard run of the mill things like browser, messages, video player. My phone is only a week old and completely stock
some real bugs in this phone still that need sorting asap. poor effort by samsung really
Same issue here, has anyone found a fix for it yet?
I only encounter this in hyper x rom. So far so good in omega
Ok,I had this issue when I tried to install different firmware and modems using Mobile Odin. It fully resolved when I flashed back the official UK firmware and modem (le8) using normal desktop Odin. No force closes whatsoever since. Incidently, I'm now using LE9 firmware with UK CSC, rooted, with no issues at all. I used chainfires recovery, then flashed superuser to root.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
Hopefully someone can help
S3 was locked to three UK network.
Odin flashed generic newer UK firmware.
Decided to hard reset via buttons.
(noticed a message about multi cnc being applied)
Once it had gone in to the set up in ICS it keeps saying
" Messaging stopped and had to close " or something along those lines.
Tried to reset again and it wont clear.
Anyone know how to fix?
Should I odin flash the firmware again or do I have to go back to original three firmware file, then reflash the new one?
Also note my handset is now network unlocked using code supplied by provider.
Look forward to any assistance and advice, thanks
I had this problem when flashing a custom rom. The trick is to flash without wiping data, albeit this issues has been cleared up in newer versions.
Not sure what to advise if you're just after the firmware... download a custom rom and make a backup of the sms feature.
Hangon I may have the sms fix still on my phone from when I had this issue I'll upload if I can find it. Make a nandroid first though as I can't be sure it'll be transferable as I used it on the XXALE8 firmware (the only one at the time)
Edit: I no longer have it, can't find it anyway. You'll have to ask indie from omega and see if he still has the file. The one you're looking for is called "sec_csc.zip" I'm sure he'd remember if you tell him its for the sms fix.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help

similiar problem
Hi guys, I have a problem which is similar but not after a custom rom install. My messaging app just closes when I go to add a contact button to the right. Any ideas. thanks.

Ok I just got my S3, straight out of the box I booted into odin and successfully followed these instructions to get root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756885 rebooted and started setting up my phone. It automatically started restoring all my apps then I went on and used titanium to restore my k9 mail and a few other apps (no system data or sms app data or anything like that). After I rebooted a messaged appeared " Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped" cleared the cache, fixed permissions, cleared cache and data of the messaging app. Nothing worked. Reset factory. As soon as the phone booted to the setup screen the messaging app error was already there. Back to Odin and reloaded the rooted tar file (I'm using the full stock, rooted version) and I still get the error when I turn the phone on! How can that be?
Exact same problem

Hi I found another thread that had a solution, didn't think it would work but it did. I can't find the thread or I'd give him credit.
Basically, boot into odin and flash this (verizon stock unrooted) h**p://samsung-updates.com/get/2114/Samsung_Firmware_SCH-I535_VZW_I535VRALF2_Android_4_0_4.html after its done let it boot and then restart and go back into odin and reflash the rooted image. It's odd but it worked and all my apps and data remained(but backup just in case).
Factory reset guys. You are writing system files over existing system files. Factory reset. Factory reset. Factory reset

Factory reset didn't work, first thing I tried...did it twice, nor did reflashing the rooted image, fixing permissions, clearing caches, etc. After the factory reset and reloading the rooted image, the error would appear on the language selection screen when first being setup. Reloading the stock non-rooted image and then reflashing the rooted image was the only thing that fixed it.

Your my hero! This worked perfect. Now everything is as I want it. Once you validate you should make a new topic in development with the subject being the error message and Samsung Galaxy SIII this way all the people with this problem can easily impliment the solution.
Also you were correct. None of my data was lost.
:good::good:
I was running skynote, and attempted to flash a couple miui roms off of their website. I could not get a signal with any of those roms, so i restored to my back up (sky note). Now everytime i make a call, my signal bars dissapear and a circle with a line through it replaces it. It never connects, nor can i get it to connect. i also did a complete wipe and reinstall with no luck. I absolutley need my phone for work. Please help!
edit. i reflashed the m9 firmware with no luck. also, im downloading things of the playstore successfully without wifi and an occasional text is coming through.
Have you tried restoring to stock VRAMC3 and then rooting and unlocking again? If you try this make sure you don't odin 4.3 or accept any updates while on stock.
