Update - While holding power button and volume up then letting go of volume up after
2 or 3 seconds while both screen black or on first boot screen for a nano second I
get a standing up android with blue atoms going around it's stomach. then goes
onto the lying down android with red triangle. Will I need to insert an sd card with some
kind of software downloaded on it for this whole format to work?
Here's all the problems. Woke up in morning and tablet chose to be stuck on 'android' animated(shine effect going across 'Android')
boot screen. I have made no modifications to the files etc, just stopped working.
To help you maybe know what tablet i got here are the two boot screens:
(Well i would post images if the forum didn't have silly restrictions on it)

Anyway looked all over the net and the seen power button & volume key and it doesn't work. Here's what I get and what i tried.
#1 (tried both volume key plus and minus button)
Hold volume and power button until first screen
appears then next let go of power button but still holding
volume key just goes and get stuck at 'android logo' screen.
(I have also carried on holding power button through to second load screen too.
But! Holding down power button and volume up button until 1st screen with tiny
little android in circle then releasing power button takes me to the green android lying down
with red triangle
#2 (tried both volume key plus and minus button)
Hold power button until first screen appears
then next hold volume key and still holding
volume key but release power button just goes and get stuck at 'android logo' screen.
(I have also carried on holding power button through to second load screen too.)
Basically to cut it short I have looked via google search and come across plenty of forums
and tried to access the screen which lets me format the device but so far has become uncessesful
I hope the images help you know which device I have and also the photo of the tablet it's self to help you know
(it has no buttons on it except the power and volume key and has no small(tiny) or big reset button to press
from what I can tell.
(Again i would post an image here too if it didn't have silly restrictions)

Can someone help please
Hi All,
I have recently rooted by Sheffield 7" Tablet (cheap Chinese tablet) running ICS 4.0 rooted.
My tablet comes with hardware buttons for Power and Volume however the clever engineers decided that they also needed to include software buttons for Volume Up and Dwn which sit to the right of the Switch Window button (so in order: Back, Home, Switch Windows, Volume Up, Volume Dwn)
My question is, how can I go about removing them short of using another button toolbar (too much clutter!)
Cheers,
Chris
Help!
The power button on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (PT-7510 WIFI) is stuck in the depressed position. I must have pressed it to many times or pressed it too hard, whatever caused it I'm not sure. It still works if I press it hard enough but I don't expect it to function for very long and I'd like to fix it before it ceases functioning entirely.
Does anybody have any suggestions for how to repair this?
Has anyone ever had this problem?
You could try remapping the power button to a volume button. While the device is booted you can then use the volume button as power button. When the tablet is turned off you would still need the real power button though.
The volume down button isn't doing anything on my son's Nexus 9. This wouldn't be a big problem in itself, but when rebooting he is put into the HBOOT recovery. I can move through those menu options (fastboot/factory reset/etc) with the volume up button, but can't select any of the options. Maybe the power button has broken too, I don't know.
I see that the volume buttons on Nexus 9 are causing problems for people, but can't find anyone with this kind of trouble.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do next? Is there a way for him to reboot properly, without going into recovery? How can we get it to boot from recovery without those buttons doing anything? Should we just send it back?
Thanks for any help.

It sounds like the vol down button isn't broken, but stuck in the held down position. When you boot android devices with the vol button held down, it tells the device to go into recovery/fastboot, which is exactly what you are seeing. There is no way around that. You have to open up your N9 and unstick the button (or, as you mentioned, return it for repair/replacement)
Sent from my Nexus 9
That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the confirmation.
Hi guys,
Recently I discovered that my power button is defective, I need to pull out the button because it keeps to locking the screen and causing random reboots in my Mi 10. I'm already bought the new flex cable buttons to repair, my question is: is there a way to 'disable' that power button or change the power on/lock/unlock screen to volume up or down? Because it would help me alot.
I don't know if is there some low level file that mapping these button inputs.
Any help I would appreciate.
Thanks.
