Hey Hey...
so i am on a mission to find a bumper for my Note 3..
basically i want the look of the Ultra Thin Aluminum cases but in TPU/Rubber material..
i don't like the way the TPU bumpers cover the back a little.. i want it to just cover the Frame..
kinda of like the <gulp> iphone bumpers.. http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/0-2MM-Ultra-Thin-Bumpers-Frame-Bumper-for-iphone-5-Slim-Soft-Flexible-TPU-Hard-Case/751335062.html
Thanks ; >
Its difficult to find one that won't cover the back at all since the edges of the battery cover is sitting flush with the chrome trim. The closest I got was modding a thin 0.3mm case and cut out most of the back.

The problem with most super ultra thin case is its made of plastic so it doesn't offer any side grip. You could put a skinomi clear skin on it for grip but I decided to just apply the skinomi skin directly to the chrome of the phone only and will just use my modded one for back up.

TPU Case with Flip/Flap Cover.. Do they even exist?
I love the protection and looks from both but I have never seen a case that combines the two. Been googling for a few days now.
The only one I found was a DIY here:

I don't want to do the DIY because when you cut the TPU case, it will lose its structural integrity.
Maybe....

That isn't a TPU case at all and offers no drop protection. Even the sides are exposed to scratches.
Thanks though

I would rock those if the flip cover was similar to OEM flip cover.
I recently purchased Mercury Leather Wallet Case from ebay (Link).
I bought a no-name leather flip case from a local shop (I tried to find the same one on ebay for reference, but failed), and it was very nice case. Good quality leather with little padding. BUT, it didn't have any protection at the top and bottom of the phone. And more importantly, there was a magnet behind the phone on the right side, which interfered with s-pen operation. I started taking out the phone whenever I was home, and then I decided to get a new case.
After searching through sites and ebay, I found this Mercury case. I chose this one because the phone was detachable with a jelly case.
First, the case is not as nice as it looks on the photo. It is not real leather, more like plastic and thin. Stitching is well-done for the most part, but it could be better. The magnet closure is using glue and it is already coming apart. I will have to superglue it or tape it up. It can hold up to 4 credit cards, but it barely closes.
The best part of this case is the jelly case. It is better quality than the usual TPU case. It is slippery to slide in and out of my pockets, but provides good grip in my hands. The phone wiggles just slightly in the jelly case, but a very good fit. On the leather case, there is a silicon-based sticky pad, where the jelly case sticks onto. I have had the jelly case on and off multiple times, but it still holds the case very nicely. If I needed to, I can wipe it with a wet towel to clean it.
And here is the second issue. The cutout for camera/speaker/s-pen is slightly out of alignment. If I align the phone to the cutout, outside edge of the phone is at a slight angle from the leather case. If I align the phone to the outside edge of the leather case, camera is off to the side of cutout. It doesn't affect the camera operation, but it is an issue nonetheless.
For the price, I think it is a very good value, because you also get a very good quality jelly case. When I go out, I stick the phone into the flip case. When I am the office or home, I take it out for easy access to the phone.
Oh, it also came with a screen protector, but I already have one on, so I don't know what it is like.

I just learned that the jelly case included in Mercury Wallet case is exactly the same material as SGP Ultra Capsule Series. I had them side-by-side.
They both seem to be from Korea, so these cases may just have different branding.
I have a handful of cases (including a spigen neohybrid that I hate).
This case works very well and gives a super grip on the phone:

How's the grip on the clear back? Will it slide around on a wood/glass table? Does it have enough of a lip for the camera?

The clear back is hard plastic so that could definitely slide around on a glass table, the camera has just enough lip to be OK.
I like that it gives a super grip on the sides of the phone (Just the opposite of my neo-hybrid POS)
I looked at that case a while back. I decided to get a Spigen Bounce and a Diztronic TPU instead. The Diztronic is slightly slimmer, but the Bounce offers much better grip thanks to the pattern on it's back! Bounce also has better button feel than Diztronic too.

Just received this case in the mail today and had to get some pics of it right away. This is a very well made case. It is a TPU case with a hard plastic cover attached to the back of it. It has a nicely textured design on the back. The sides have a bit of a recess to make it easy to grip and good protection at the corners. All cutouts on top, bottom, and for camera are perfect. The hard plastic back has a slightly raised X shape for better strength. The case works great with the film screen protector that I am using. This case has a pretty square shape on the back sides, it doesn't show the tapered side edges of the phone do to how it's made. The inside is fitted to the edges though. When the phone is resting on the back you can make it wobble, this is do to the raised Poetic "P" emblem that is raised. My Samsung wireless fast charger works well with this case too.The Poetic brand of cases seem to be very well made, with what appears to be great protection in thinner designs, while being stylish and a decent price. This is my second Poetic case as I have their Affinity also.
I'm searching for as thin as possible silicone cover. It can't be completely clear because of yellowing. Must fit very well like this delivered with Xiaomi Mi6 - you can barely see it on the phone.
Inb4:
Peel is rather plastic than silicone and it is way to expensive for such cover.
Cafele has some cases on Amazon. One version is identical to PEEL. It's .35 mm thick and is the PP material. Their other case is a .6 mm thick silicone. Neither one is completely clear, though the silicone would probably be the most resilient to yellowing.
They're like $7-$8 on Amazon right now.
