hello total noob here, i have a droid x2. its running gingerbread 2.3 and is rooted and flashed with eclipse 2.3, its also on the straight talk service (idk what that would be considered, jailbroke, flashed im not super informed on these things) last night i installed a root font installer app and i set it in preferences to over ride all fonts and it went to reboot and stayed on the motorola logo dualcore boot logo and wont start up, i managed to get to system recovery and data wipe/ factory reset and i still cant get past said screen these are the options i can get to
fastboot
nvflash
bp hw bypass rsd
bp hw bypass qc dload
bp hw diag & ap
bp hw bypass bp only
bp sw bypass rsd
android recovery
boot android no bp
device uid
console=ttys0,115200n8
early usb enumeration
bp tools
rsd
can i fix the problem with one of these options or is this phone a paper wieght now?
im sorry if this has beep posted somewhere but i looked through the x2 help forum and didnt find anything relevant, please help im freaking out here lolz
if you activated bootstrap, you can boot to custom recovery, just power off, connect to wall charger, phone will boot to custom recovery instead of charging mode.
if it boots to charging mode custom recovery is not active, and you will need to flash firmware, follow my flashing firmware with moto-fastboot.exe link, it will not flash over radio settings

thanks for the response, i followed your instructions and got a boot 4, so its a partition issue? and then it said going into rsd mode and then it said battery to low to flash, did i do something wrong?
can not flash with low battery, and can not charge without working software, you need a spare battery charger or a TBH factory cable adaptor. links to both in my list under low battery options.

so if i get the battery charged and repeat the steps thatll solve the problem? sorry im asking so many questions, like i said im a noob

Not a 100% guarantee, but it should work.
Other options are flashing with.
ezSBF DX2 2.3.4
or sbf_flash
both option do not flash the radio, but if the problem is hardware failure, there maybe not fixing.

Hello, I have a customer's Photon that is bricked beyond the grave. The story is this guy was trying to complete a software update and since then his phone bricked itself. I asked him if the phone was rooted and if he was flashing roms ect (I don't care obviously) and he repeatidly said no. So here is the deal, I would really appreciate any help.
Currently the phone can boot into fastboot mode with vol up+power.
If I hold JUST power I get
SVF: 108: 1: 2
Failed to boot 3
Starting RSD mode (never gets to starting RSD Protocol)
Now I can at least get RSD Lite to recognize the phone and begin the flashing with the SBF file ( I have tried them all btw) and the creating image process will get to 100% and then will fail at the re-enumeration process. This is with all SBF files from 154 to the latest 198_7.
I have tried multiple versions of RSD Lite, Reinstalled 64bit drivers and rebooted my PC, and have tried different USB ports. With everything I do the farthest I can go is to the re-enumeration process and RSD Lite Fails every time. I cannot even get into Stock recovery to perform a factory wipe either. The only key combos that work for me are Power only, or vol up + power. When I get into fastboot mode there is no option for anything like getting to recovery. And pressing power only gets me into a semi-working RSD mode.
I am completely stumped, I have successfully used RSD Lite in the past with no problems on multiple Motorola phones but cannot get this Photon to flash any SBF File. Please help!
This is what happens when you flash an Electrify ROM onto a Photon. There is no current solution, because you need a 2.3.5 ROM to fix it...and the only one is of course the US Cellular ROM.
Hi.please help me about idea: I Can flash file SBF (photon original) with model Electrify? I flashed but " Fail" That's why?

I have the similar problem as posted by you,I had the battery too low problem, which I had to fix by cutting the USB cables, currently I am stuck at the same position as you are,(the RSD Lite fails),please reply if you find any solution or if you have already found one.

So i followed those steps.. but now i'm getting "failed to boot 4 starting rsd mode" error and can no longer access the fastboot menu via power +volume down. am i screwed?
Maybe I got lucky, but I used the Electrify SBF, received the same error, and the phone still worked. The initial boot up when you flash the Electrify SBF is looooong, but will boot properly. Give it some time.
I just did this last night.

Yeah I figured it out. It took 6.5 hours since prior to this problem I had zero android knowledge as far as custom roms, flashing, rooting etc. I got my first android three weeks ago and when this happened I had to learn all this **** in about 5 hours. It was a stressful day.
my thread was later updated on Jul 29 with pointer to the following thread by peetr_

read this thread well and follow the steps
no need to worry.

Bricked stock MoPho. One day crashed and will no longer properly boot.
Cracked screen for a while now so warranty replacement not an option.
”Failed to boot 1” appears on M Dual Core screen on regular power attempt
“Failed to boot 1
PwrReason: PWR_KEY_PRESS
Starting Fastboot protocol support” appears on M Dual Core screen when hold Power and Volume Up
Screen briefly flashes and then goes black when hold Power and Volume Down
I have already attempted to flash stock Photon sbf file. Failed message after 99%
I have also attempted to flash stock Electrify sbf. Failed message right after process started.
Tried to flash on both regular power on and also on Power and Volume Up
Using RSD lite on windows7 64 bit.
Any ideas?
What was your build number?
Which photon sbf flashed?
Which electrify sbf flashed?
We need informations.
bull the battery out of the phone. plug phone into the pc then put the battery back in the phone. the phone should boot to the m logo and say failed to boot 1 it wont say rsd mode but its in rsd mode if you open rsd lite on the pc you will see the phone.

I don’t know exactly what Photon software version was on phone when bricked.
Ok, this looks like you're on the same boat with me and you need to unlock your bootloader, nothing more. If you want to use 4g, than there is no other way, only upgrading to the world of 2.3.5 sv2 locked bootloaders. But I suggest you, don't do that.
Thanks anyways guys.....still looks like I'm stuck with a worthless piece of equipment.
I don't think so, but you need to read in tegra sbf thread in development section, did you try to unlock?

Hello guys,
I got really big problem about my RAZR
Few days ago I flash Australia 4.0.4 ROM in my XT910 and then OTA to 4.1.2
It seems beautiful and smooth!
I delete CID before and fail to restore (I have backup)
Anyway I want to get rid of Bp tool power up so I install Bootmenu to skip it
Than I stock in motorola M!! It always boot in bootmenu!!
After many tries I gave up and use RSD to flash back, in this moment, battery low!!So I fail to flash it......
Now my device is dead until I plug AC adapter, but it just can't charge the battery!!
In AP flashmode -> fail to charge
I try to get in BP only mode to charge my battery but it always boot in Bootmenu!!
I can't charge my battery in ANY mode...because it always boot in Bootmenu!!
Please help me to get rid of Bootment or charge my battery~~~Thanks!!:crying:

this happened to me today, I used it to solve:

But I had battery, you no, this is the big problem ;/ the only solution that I see is buy a new battery with charge, open the phone and change them.
Thanks dud. Finally I returned my RAZR back to repair station...:crying:
I just recently joined the rooting community a few days ago. I started by rooting my phone with petes rooting tool, and then sbf'd the phone back to android 2.3.4 before installing boot strap recovery on the phone. I was able to successfully flash the cyanogen 10 mod, with many exceptions. The first of these exceptions is that the phones keyboard did not work at all (unable to active phone, unable to do anything really), so I decided to look this up. I tried almost everything except installing a new gapps which I was in the process of doing when I hit a major roadblock. The problem I ran into was that when I re-installed the bootstrap recovery on the cyanogen 10 rom to get to the recovery mode in order to flash the gapps file, the phone became stuck on the M (dual core) boot screen. I was however able to access the boot menu (power+volume down), and tried to sbf the phone back to android 2.3.4 so that it would hopefully fix all of my stupidity. Little did I know that this would just increase my unluckiness with the rooting process, and the phone now will not boot into the boot screen. When I hold down (volume down+power) the phone simply flahes a screen and then will do nothing until I pop the battery out. After that, i tried simply turing the hone on by holding down just the power button, and it boot to a screen which displays "failed to boot 2" and then below that "starting RSD mode". From this screen I have tried to sbf to android 2.3.4, and also to android 2.3.5 multiple times, and every time it pops up with either an error on the computer, or "sec_exception: febe, 4e, 4e" and then an error on the computer. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! I AM OUT OF OPTIONS AT THIS POINT, AND AM STARTING TO PANIC! HELP ME!
Failed to boot, sounds like hardware failure
but you can try ezSBF, link in my list, might work.

im not completely sure why you sbf'd after rooting the first time? no need for that. i would read up a bit more if you do get it working, watch tomsgt123 's videos on youtube so you know what youre doing. and you used the Gapps for cm10.1 not our version. that is why keyboard didnt work. read read read.
after reading abain, i guess you were on 2.3.5. and thats why you sbf'd. but rooting was not needed before sbf. hope you have better luck next time .
flash will fail if battery is too low, should be a low battery error though, but maybe not every time.
if it is low battery, you will need a charged battery or a tbh programing adapter
link to TBH adapter and dx2 external charger in my list

Do you have any advice on where I should go from here then? My phone is basically a useless hunk of technology until i can get it to boot back into cyanogen 10, or sbf it back to an android operating system. The RSD mode always fails when I try to normally sfd, but i have not tried EZ sbf yet..... any other suggestions?

The led color,is it white?
If it is,then you must make or buy the factory cable and flash your stock rom with RSD Lite.

yes,its white
now i have managed somehow to turn it on
but the problem is that stock ROM in safestrap is always Disabled ,i cant use it ?
so i can use it only with factory cable? whats so special in it ?
do i have to use only original stock rom ? shouldnt safestrap to bypass it ?

If you can turn it on then your battery is ok,just flash your stock rom with RSD Lite, root it,install Safestrap and happy flashing.
The factory cable allows you to flash the fastboot (stock rom) files when your battery is too low.
Did you try to get in to fastboot mode?
Pressing vol- vol+ and power button at the same time?
Look what's written for the battery,Battery OK-good,Battery Low-you need the factory cable.

first. installing safestrap and boot menu manager at same time is not recommended.
second. if I understood you, you flashed cm11 over stock ROM. but you provide no info about how you did it.My guess is you didn't wipe all recommend partitions.
that leads me to third, your battery stats probably were messed up. next time you charge it try to wipe your battery stats, there is apps in play store that will do it for you. some people say it doesn't does a difference, certainly your battery will not magically improve, but it does corrects weird behaviors.
If it doesn't works, try using RSD as welder73 told you. troubleshooting is easier in a clean and working system. what I am proposing is worthy to try if you have data that you cannot loose.
note: don't know how factory cable works, but I hope you are using it instead of directly connecting cable to the battery. cause charge might not be controlled if you charge directly to battery terminals... if you let it charge too much time it can damage battery.
xt910 can be a RAZR MAXX but not a MAXX HD which is a totally different phone.

ok. when you get into fastboot and try to RSD and get a Low Battery warning, the is no other way left... charge battery. or get a factory cable, there is a thread explaining how to build one.
first question. you have to choose one of them. for newbies, safestrap cause all new ROMs are prepared to work with that program. if later, u decide to test bout menu manager, you will have to uninstall safestrap ( of course you will not be able to use any ROM installed with safestrap). since boot menu manager is no longer supported, you will need to mod ROM zip file prior to flashing that's why i recommend sticking to safestrap for now. Don't install both, they are not meant to work together.
second question. To install in stock ROM, you have to wipe everything except sdcard and sd-ext where you personal data is (never tried, so can't help you more). for slot1 Wiping is not necessary first time, cause slot1 is fresh. next time yo install other ROM you will have to wipe data, cache and system. double check what you ate doing, so you don't wipe stock instead of slot1.
Wipe options are in safestrap.
SafeStrap and Boot Manager
I have accidently installed both apps on my Motorola Razr XT910 and my phone is now stuck on the red logo - I cannot get it into the bootloader to unbrick it with RSD Lite. Is there anybody who can advise ?

Yes,but flash the Europian fastboot file.
And don't try to flash ICS if your stock was JB.
You can flash JB fastboot file with RSD Lite if you want, that way you'll upgrade to JB.
About RSD Lite,I unzip file with it,if I remember correctly, click on start, choose decompress only and find your zip.

Okay.. I have a similar problem which I have ran into now..Yesterday I was just using my phone normally and was trying to call someone, when the phone immediately shut down..my guess was that the battery stats were screwed up..So I tried charging it and even I had the question mark on the battery when I connected it to the charger. I couldn't switch on the phone manually. I was on PA android jellybean 4.3.1. So should I also need a factory cable or something to restore my phone??
Thanks in advance
