Update Feb 19, 2017: Hey guys. I know it's been forever since I posted. I keep thinking I'll eventually get back to working on this, but it just hasn't happened. The problem is time and patience. Digging through disassembled code is tedious and very time consuming, so I haven't been able to devote the time or drum up the motivation to work more on it.
So it's official: I'm not planning any active development on this for the foreseeable future. If I ever decide to work on it more, I'll post an update here. Also, if anybody wants to contribute, I'll happily accept Pull Requests on GitHub, push releases, etc.
Introduction:
Swype is an amazing IME, and it has been my favorite for a long time. However, it has some faults. The biggest annoyance is voice dictation: Dragon is forced on you and there is no good way to use Google's superior voice recognition.
This module opens the Google voice typing input when you hit the voice button. It should act just like any other keyboard that has a voice button.
Additionally, there are options to change some colors and other tweaks.
This should work with all recent versions of Swype, including OEM, Google Play paid, Google Play trial, etc. If you have any problems, please let me know.
Download:
SwypeTweaks at repo.xposed.info
This app requires Xposed.
You also need Google Voice Search installed.
Issues:
None that I know of, currently.
What's Next:
I can only really work on this during weekends, so updates won't be extremely fast, but I'll do my best.
Here are the next features I'm attempting, in order:
Get rid of all orange (In progress.)
Much more flexible key remapping
Features I am considering and investigating:
Customize gestures
Pop up a toast message/notification when a gesture is used.
Layout changes. This is likely to be too difficult.
Special thanks:
rovo89 for the Xposed Framework and also for helping me in the framework thread.
alaskajoel for the great idea and for testing
arpruss for the emoji disabling feature
netkeion and francwalter for helping with the IME switching
Changelog:
1.5.1
Removed some code that caused a disappearing microphone button for a user
1.5.0
Lowered minimum time threshold for long pressing keys
Changed "Long press enter" to "long press speech key", since doing a long press on the enter key doesn't work anymore (thanks netkeion and francwalter)
Removed emoji disabler, since there is now a setting built into Swype.
1.4.0
An option has been added to disable emoji in the word suggestion bar. This excellent feature was written by arpruss and is included in SwypeTweaks with arpruss's permission
1.3.0
More color customization
Color pickers for changing color
Show microphone key instead of Dragon Flame when the replacement is enabled
Better performance for trace color change
1.2.0
You can now change the trace color
Long pressing enter can change between keyboards
Better error handling
1.1.0
This should now work with all recent versions of Swype (OEM, both Play Store versions, etc.) I changed the mechanism of how it launches Google Voice Recognition, so please let me know if this causes any problems. It should act exactly the same.
Added an option to launch the iWnn emoji keyboard when long pressing the Enter key (assuming iWnn is installed.)
Added settings activity to enable/disable features (more are planned.)
1.0.1 - Very minor update to allow this to work with the trial version of Swype.
Also added better logging for support.
1.0 - Initial release

Swiftkey uses the google voice recognition by default... at least mine always has
I have been waiting for a mod like this for ages. I love the Swype keyboard but hate the Dragon speech it comes with. This....I give you a thousand thanks for this mod. Its working perfectly.
My device is a Note 2, I am on Conch Republic Edition ROM and I am using the Google Play version of Swype..I actually deleted the built in Swype using root explorer so havent even tested on that version.

Working perfectly on Note 2 running N3bula. Thanks
I have updated the 1st post to include a link to the Xposed repo: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.danation.xposed.swypetweaks
Thanks for posting which phones it worked on. That helps me a lot. For the Galaxy Note 2 devices, were either of you using the included version of Swype, or were you using the Google Play version?

Great job. This has been annoyance of Swype.
Testing it out now.
Edit: Works fine here. GS3, running TW 4.3 and Google Play swype.

It looks like it's an easy fix. I just need to add the package name for the trial version. I'm going to see if I can figure out the OEM Swype issue as well (not as simple of a fix, I think,) and I'll try to release them together.

/!\ Important : I'm actively searching a dev to help me continue developing the module, if you're interested please contact me /!\
Hello!
This is the official thread for my Xposed Module SMS Xposed. Mainly aimed at the AOSP sms app (com.android.mms) and Hangouts (only the latest version is officially supported, please don't report bugs if you're not using the latest update).
/!\ It seems it's not compatible at all with TouchWizz rom, need more reports /!\
In this thread you can report any bugs, troubles (please see the procedure below) and suggestions.
What it does
All SMS apps:
-Wake on new message
-Flash flashlight on new message (NEW) (BETA)
AOSP SMS or Hangouts:
-Action buttons (Call, Quick Response, Mark As Read) (BETA)
-Added show button option - Privacy mode (NEW)
-Privacy option
AOSP SMS app:
-Custom sms icon color
-Replaces the Smiley Key with an Enter Key ( AOSP keyboard, untested on others)
-Disables fullscreen typing in landscape on devices where it's enabled
-Detects voice punctuation and converts to appropriate symbol (original feature is broken in many languages apart from English) - French, Spanish, German, Dutch
-Unlimited height for textbox option
Known issues
- /!\ It seems it's not compatible at all with TouchWizz rom, need more reports /!\
-Mark as read doesn't update conversations in Hangouts.
Planned features
-Custom voice conversions and commands, the first one will be something like "Send Message"
-More punctuations
Instructions and Download
-Xposed Framework must be installed and operational.
-Go in the Download section of Xposed Installer (that you just installed if you didn't already have it) , download and install the SMS Xposed module.
-Open the app and check the features you want.
-Reboot your device for changes to take effect.
-If you want to change settings later , you'll have to completely close the sms app and relaunch it.
Troubleshooting and bug reporting
First if a feature doesn't work or you encounter a bug/force close, be sure that:
-the module is ticked in xposed installer.
-you have the latest module version available
-you rebooted your device after a settings change or an update
-you're not using a SMS app where some features are not supported (some features only work with AOSP SMS or Hangouts, not the Touchwizz SMS app for example)
-Disable all other xposed modules before reproducing bug to make sure it is really SMSXposed related
If it persists, please provide:
- your configuration : device, rom, android version
- steps to reproduce the problem
- the relevant options you chose in the settings
- the debug.log file found either at : /data/xposed/debug.log ( for versions prior to Xposed Installer 2.3) or /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/log ( for 2.3+). Please extract it just after the problem occured
(the following part has been taken from the GravityBox thread where it's well explained )
In case you experience SystemUI crashes or other apps Force Closing, or device soft reboots, attach logcat from time
crash occurs. (use adb logcat *:E or your favorite logcat app from Play Store).
Please, don't attach big logs. Only the portion where error is clearly seen.
Please send links to your logs via PM as it can include sms and phone numbers from you and your contacts

Definitely can be done. Will integrate the option soon.
Cyanogenmod has it in their messenger, it doesn't read what the person who is texting you wrote on the notification bar. It just shows the icon. Handcent also has that feature

Which feature ? You need to be sure your sms app is the one from google and not one from motorola. If you're trying the smiley button replacer feature you'll need to have the AOSP keyboard.

I'd love this as well. Not necessarily yellow, but hey, I'll take anything. Sometimes my status bar becomes a sea of greyscale notification icons. I don't mind missing new WhatsApp messages, but texts can a different story. Either way, great work!
Hi, could it be possible for you to add more customisation to privacy options?
Like choosing to show the name of the person who sent the message, but not the content?
More cool feature in privacy : add a "show" button the popup, so if the phone is in use by someone else, he will not see the content, but we don't have to disable that fonction every time the phone is in another hands!
I search for that for a long time, the only app to do that simple thing is chompsms.

Did you restart your sms app ? Other options are working ? It might be because CM tweaked the SMS app.
I will see if I can make it work with some well known 3rd party keyboards. Not sure if it will solve your problem though.

Sorry, this is not easy to mod because in Dialer 4.4 when you click on dialpad button (does automatically my mod) other content is visible but, you can't directly tap on contact icon. It would require change a lot of things in Dialer app. After exams when I will have free time, I can try first modify Dialer app and then utilize it by Xposed MOD.

I don't understand what you mean by 'Flip to silent'. Full screen caller image you can activate in GravityBox or by Fullscreen CallerID Xposed MOD
Flip to silent means flipping the phone to silent the call. Yes, I know that full screen caller image is available in GravityBox, infact even Flip to Silent is there in GravityBox but for some reasons I don't wanna use GravityBox.

This is a module that will allow your keyboard to use its auto-correct feature in any TEXT field. If the field is a number input, then it will keep it as a number.
This will also allow you to use auto-correct in password fields.
This should work with any keyboard. If it doesn't work with a keyboard, like Samsung's, its because they are OEM keyboards and are not using standard Google API, they are using their own proprietary framework files. I do not have time to go through every keyboard out there, so I will be releasing source when I have time to allow one to make their own mods to enable it to work on their keyboard.
Any issues feel free to ask!
Simply install the apk either separate or through the xposed module app then simply enable and reboot and you are good to go
UPDATE: 24-4-16 (dd-mm-yy format)
- Added option to toggle auto correct when typing. Simply click the notification in your notification drop down to toggle.
- Removed blacklist option, to blacklist an app, when typing in that app, drop down your notifications, and click to toggle auto correct. It will be remembered the next time you use the app. (Note, if you switch keyboards, this will be reset.)
Don't forget to buy me a snack Thanks guys!

No duh it's a much needed feature hence the whole point of the module. If you want it fixed you need to tell me what keyboard you're using. Seems as if some keyboards require more info to enable the auto correct. For smart keyboard pro it works perfectly. But as you can see stated above swift key doesn't get enabled either. So to fix it I need to know the keyboard you're using.

I just tested it with swift key pro if you're using the trial then your trial is expired. And what do you mean glitchy spaces? I personally never had any success with that keyboard before this module.

I have purchased Swiftkey, and try this mod in uc browser without lucky ( auto-correct not work). Also fleksy is glitchy in uc browser with this mod (try do a space with fleksy in uc browser), I tried without this mod and fleksy works fine..
Is this incompatible with 4.2.2 / Fonepad 7? Download failed (error 404) using Xposed app.
OK, I downloaded it here.

Which UC browser are you using? Is swiftkey not working only in UC browser or everywhere? And sorry I can't reproduce the fleksy issue. Not to mention there shouldn't be an issue with it being "glitchy" its prolly poor development from the makers of fleksy. I had horrible issues using it where it randomly would detect a "gesture" even though i was simply typing that fast.

Should be compatible from 2.2+ (hence thread title) that error is a problem with xposed. Servers might be down. Try from your computer.
I use this UC Browser, and if I use this module Swiftkey doesn´t work with auto-correct and flow functions in any field on this browser. Without this module Swiftkey works with auto-correct in UC Browser (except in search field).
In other apps Swiftkey work fine even without this module (with exceptions that I think this module can solve).
Ok, Fleksy appart, its not a very annoying problem haha.
Same here....using Google Keyboard...disables everywhere

@Cpasjuste,
Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. I am not able to post in the development section which is where I think this should be.
I have modified the thor-gapps ROM v2 to work on my Kindle HDX 8.9 (which is running great by the way)..
The remaining item i have to do is recompile or modify the android keyboard to be the correct width in Landscape Mode.
Do I have to recompile the whole 4.2.2 branch to modify the keyboard app or can I just recompile the keyboard app on it own?
Also when I have finished, is it ok to release the modified ROM (on XDA) to support the HDX 8.9 community?
Hi !
You can just compile the keyboard from aosp with a special command to the android build script (don't remember which one), well it will still compile all dependencies but still much faster.
I will try to take the time to take a look at it this week end if you didn't succeed.
Finally, of course you can share your ROM !

Thank you
I figured out how to build the keyboard. The command is 'make LatinIME' issued from the root of the source tree. Just need to work out the changes required now.
Thank you for all the support and information you provide here.

I have now managed to rebuild the AOSP JDQ39 Android keyboard.
As a test I replaced the newly built LatinIME.apk with no changes in /system/app and rebooted. The keyboard fails to work.
I then replaced it with the original one and rebooted and now this doesn't work.
Does anyone know what the issue might be?

I think you may have to also update/replace the libraries which must be built with the keyboard ( liblatin*.so etc..). This may be the problem.

Thanks Cpasjuste, That did it I have now got the newly built keyboard working, just need to now reduce the width so it isn't obscured by the navbar.

That's the keyboard done. Just doing a bit of testing and have just noticed the camera is not working.
Cpasjuste, on the HDX 7" does the camera work on the thor-gapps-rom v2?

Hi @jeryll, thanks for your PM.
I have tried a few camera apps from the market and none that I have tried have worked. So I'll finalise the first build, test it and then go for a release this weekend.
I'll take a look at the camera issue after the first release is done.

@jeryll,
Thanks for the PM. I tried various camera apps from the market of which none worked. I'll finalise the first build and aim to release the ROM this weekend.
I'll take a look at the camera issue after that.

OK, installed latest safestrap 3.72 for apollo, have a little fight with data restoration, but win, installed Apollo Gapps ROM v1.1. So far so good. Playstore working, so im go for little bit customizing to my liking.
Hi Jeryll, glad you got working . Time permitting I'll take a look at the camera issue next.

my findings
Well, so far I am impressed, I like this ROM very much
If you have time in the future, here are some things to improve:
- system widget picker - text can't be read, because its white on white background
- settings -> security -> device administrators - you see registered apps, but you can't choose any
Nothing critical, and I don't use camera, so that is not big deal for me.
Again thanks, will patiently wait for bugfixes...
It works!
I have been waiting for months for this. Everything works swimmingly, except for the camera. The search button on the right even uses google search instead of amazon's ****ty version. The settings are all de-amazonified, and I feel like I have a real android tablet now!

So did you correctly fix the KB width ? My own implementation is very buggy. I do not have a build system anymore for now so it could be cool for us (Thor 7")

Yes I did.
Attached is the LatinIME.apk that I built from the JDQ39 source. If the Thor's navbar is the same width as the Apollo's then this should work on the Thor 7" device.
If not then I can build a version of it for you.

I wasn't able to reproduce the problem with the system widget picker, I am using Apex Launcher which seems to work fine. Which launcher are you using?

Lightning launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.pierrox.lightning_launcher_extreme&hl=enhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.pierrox.lightning_launcher_extreme&hl=en
Apex launcher use its own widget picker (non system), I used it before this awesome ROM come - on rooted FireOS with gapps installed (Lightning launcher crashed when I try it, because in FireOS, there is no system widget picker) ... so imagine my surprise, when I try Lightning launcher on this Apollo Gapps ROM v1.1, and it was working with widgets without crash ...
Xtended NavBar
Xtended NavBar is an Xposed Framework module that adds an extra functionality to the navigation bar.
Swipe from the edges to change to Music player or Quick settings. Swipe back to show the navigation buttons again.
In the donate version you can also show favorite apps.
Playstore | Xposed Repo
Compatibility:
This module was developed for AOSP based roms. Don't expect it to work on heavily modified non AOSP based roms like Sense, Touchwiz.
Should be compatible with some other navigation bar customization modules.
It's recommended to do a nandroid backup if you're using the app for the first time.

I think you should change description, it's not "Concept video", it's really working! Well done!
Wow! really cool app! works well on my Moto G PA 4.4 RC2
I think a good idea for a panel would be a camera shutter button
Awesome

Great idea, i'll definitely add more stuff in future and this might be one of those things.
Doesn't work on Carbon Rom latest nightly, doesn't even show up, any ideas? Donated too :/
(Wifi is broken on latest nightly too though on Nexus 4 so I wouldn't read too much into that)

well
Awesome work

but you beat me to it
nice work though
Great idea. Like djsubterrain said, doesn't work on carbon ROM. Cant wait till it does though. Any chance you could upload it to the xposed app also?

I've got SlimRom nand backup too, I'll try it on there.
EDIT: Yeah, doesn't work on that either, I think both are based on CM11 though if that makes a difference. Also, I had changed the choice of navigation bar buttons, would that matter?]
I use menu, home, back and long pressing on back brings up recents.
If it helps, My face unlock also didn't show when I disabled the nav bar, when I enabled it again, back came the face unlock.
In other views...I wish xposed would go on the play store and have integration so your choice of modules could be saved under your google account.
I wish this was open source...
I really would like to use this one!
Very cool, nice job! I'm excited to use this.
Edit - ditto on the open source request.

You've done a better job than what I planned actually. I was going to have a button on the very left of the bar
When you pressed the button the Home button would become Play, Back would become Rewind and so on
When you pressed it again it would turn back
Never even thought if swiping :good:

One idea I had for it to stop accidental swipes would be to pinch to toggle a lock on the present page, good idea?
Well thank you! It's not that I want to copy anything but you know the power of Xposed shouldn't be underrated
Thank you!

I think it's already difficult to open sometimes, so i don't believe this is a problem. I might add this anyways in a future update.
