Soft Bricked (tried everything) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I installed a rom, got into a bootloop that wasn't working. I attempted to use odin to flash to factory, but now I get the "firmware upgrade issue" screen when powering on or recovery mode. I can get into download mode, but I keep getting fail when I try to get back to stock. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it since I just got my note yesterday and want to get it working again (even on stock.)
note: I read for at least 2 hours and tried almost everything. My drivers are installed. New usb cord/port. Reboot computer etc.

Need more info to be able to help....what firmware were you are before you flashed via Odin? We you rooted? Did you have custom recovery installed? What firmware version did you attempt to flash with Odin?

I was on the stock 4.3 firmware, rooted the phone via odin, everything went smoothly. Then I downloaded a rom for sprint note 3, when I rebooted (cleared cache and factory wipe) the samsung logo just kept popping up and rebooting. I was using clockworkmod, but now when I try to access it I just get the "firmware upgrade encountered an issue." ODIN just keeps failing no matter what I try. I am trying the latest N900P stock firmware.

is it time to throw in the towel and see if Asurion can get it replaced? or at this point is it fixable?

I realized that I am an idiot and was using a different model number and downloaded MJ4, worked like a charm. But now I want to get to the root of the issue (pun intended.) Why did the rom I used start the bootloop that was not fixed by clearing the cache and factory wipe? I found it right here on the sprint note 3 section of XDA. It was the MINIMUS rom.

Rooting Help trying to avoid bootloop

Hers my dilema, i had 4.1.1 rooted and unlocked and decided to return to stock so I could update to 4.1.2. all went well downgrading to stock but when I got the OTA the phone bootlooped. I could not access the recovery menu to wipe cache (as suggested in a few other post) so I ended up having the download the newest image and flash it to my phone. That worked after using the 16Gb pit file that is here in the forum (it kept failing before trying the pit file). THE QUESTION I have is, how do I root with casual without bootlooping? I tried after getting 4.1.2 installed and it went back into the bootloop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, how exactly did you get 4.1.2 on your phone? You say that using the very latest version of CASUAL still causes bootloops when trying to unlock?
The obvious thing here is YOU NEVER SHOULD HAVE WENT TO ACCEPT THE OTA.
As it is this is a question better answered by AdamOutler or Droidstyle.

I flashed a stock image that I downloaded from stockimages(or something like that) with odin. That got the phone back up and running with 4.1.2. Once I did that, I figured I was back to stock (no root and no unlock) so I tried to run casual to re-root and unlock and ended up in a boot loop. Since then, I have gotten back to root and unlock but from now on I guess I have to update via the TWRP. Thanks for the obvious suggestion but I figured that since i had flashed back to stock it was ok to accept the ota.......I was assuming that I could get full access by running casual. From now on, I will leave well enough alone.

The more updates Verizon pushes the tighter they luck the phone down trying to deal up all the holes our exploits could use, in turn that makes the exploits more risky and more prone to cause potential trouble.
It is best to just leave everything alone once you get rooted and unlocked and just flash the updates via TWRP/CWM, there is no real reason or advantage to updating the normal way. It does nothing different than flashing the ROM in recovery and has no advantages and a huge amount of risk.
It may be that the Odin flashable ROM you got was missing something or was wonky in some way since it didn't come from XDA. It shouldn't have reacted that way if you were using the most up to date version of CASUAL.

I used Odin to get the phone back to stock (vramc3). I tried it on two computers and eventually got it to rum when using the 16 GB .pit file that can be found on this forum. That got me back to stock. I then used casual to re-root and unlock. The thing I have learned is that once twrp is intalled, I only need to download a ROM based on the Verizon stock (unless you want custom) and flash it through twrp. NOT WHAT I INITIALLY DID. I flashed back to stock and accepted an ota which didn't work out well. Took me 5 hours of downloading and trying to get the phone flashed. Good luck. The first thing I would try is downloading the beanstown vzw stock ROM and flash it with the .pit file.

I would try casual agai if you can get into download mode (power + vol dn+ home). If that doesn't work I'd try reflashing. Good luck.

Check the drivers to make sure the CASUAL driver isn't the one in use.

[Q] Tried multiple ways to Flash to stock and Failed ( input needed )

I think ive have tried every possible way to flash used every usb port and still cannot get my phone to flash on odin. Does anyone have any suggestions.
what ive done so far:
Used Odin3Excutionv1.81 (flashes SCH-I45 MDK Stock Restore)
Failed
Used Odin3Excution v1.81( flashes SCH-I545 MDK Kernel)
Successful
Used Odin 3.07v
Flashed Modem
Flashed Recovery
Flashed Kernel
These had to be run through odin a couple times before it would flash or pass.
Then after I tried to flash Stock Restore and that fails.
Im all out of options have, and have put many hours into getting nowwhere please if someone has any suggestions I would love to think that this isnt a 700 dollar paper i have sitting here.
When booting up I get a message that says," Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.(Tried that also)

[q] in desperate need of help!!

I am in need of some help ASAP.!!
Have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I had rooted it and flashed different Eclipse ROMs and decided to go with CarbonROM all in one night. I liked everything about Carbon until I noticed the next day I didn't have 4g anymore and wouldn't go over 2 bars of signal. So I decided i wanted to flash back to factory unrooted. I searched and searched and read and read to make sure just how to do it for my phone. I used Odin and it successfully flashed but than when it went to reboot it keeps flashing the startup "Samsung Galaxy Note II" over and over. Is this bootloop correct? If so i have searched and searched how to fix this and nothing is working. Either Odin gets stuck at SetupConnection, or hangs, wont even recognize my Note (I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers multiple times.) and nothing is working. I have no access to recovery mode, only download.
I really need some help with this. Any input is greatly appreciated!!!!!!
If you are able to go into recovery then wipe to factory reset.... If not then try to install the stock rom via odin

I was able to finally restore it back to factory. I ended up using a stock ROM from one thread used with a pit. file from the Root/Unroot Guide on this forum along with checking the re-partitioning. It was successful the first try amazingly, entered a true bootloop as i found out (flashed 4gLTE rainbow etc over and over.) and was able to access recovery mode. Wiped cache and factory reset and rebooted. Phone is now working!!
BUT... no 4g?? only 3g and signal is still somewhat weak compared to past signals. Do I need to alter APN, IMEI, or stuff like that?? :S
Also a sidenote, I used to be 4.2.2, and now after stock restore/flash I am 4.1.2. Is this a big deal and can I upgrade to lets say 4.3 without rooting or do custom ROMs update this or do they need a base to be added to? :S

Root stuck on logo screen

Just got a Note 3 and wanted to root it. Everything seemed to go fine through Odin until it tried to reboot. I keep getting stuck on reboot. I have tried everything I can think of like removing battery but it gets stuck every time when going into recovery. Any suggestions?
Have you flashed a recovery yet? Try flashing twrp through Odin and see if that helps.

But this one did....SM-N9005 (International Qualcomm): CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip

[Q] Possible brick after CWM recovery update.

Here goes, hopefully someone can help!
Ive installed a fair few roms on my phone and never had any issue, maybe this explains the complacency.
After updating to CWM recovery -6.0.4.7 I get stuck on my bootscreen, only seeing "Samsung galaxy I9100P" , ive been putting I9100 roms on it and losing NFC functionality for a while.
I went to update to the newest CM-11 nightly and read I needed to update CWM-recovery first. So did that, rebooted phone as instructed after installing new CWMr and nothing. Just stuck on I9100 screen.
No way to get into recovery mode, the only bright side I have found is I can boot into ODIN download mode. So what would be my next steps anyone?
Flash stock rom. or flash a kernel to get a working recovery bk with odin.

From a dig through the forums it sounds like NAND rw corruption?
I wouldn't be calling it that just yet. Unless you'd like to pay for a motherboard replacement ? Most of these are recoverable.
Used ODIN and flashed a new kernel, still on the boot screen, except now I have the yellow exclamation mark. Now to, Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.. this day is not going well..
Fingers crossed, flashed 3 or 4 kernels before one worked and allowed me into recovery mode. Trying to restore back to my backup from this morning. Heres hoping! :good:
Worked perfectly, the first thing I did was retry the initial task which was what got me stuck, currently waiting on CM-11's initial boot up after a successful install Thanks for the calming responses!
