I do not know what certain peoples issues are, maybe little man complex or internet tough guy thing but it is friggin ridiculous. A noob posts a question and out of 30 responses he gets one that is an answer. You guys need to chill and I am willing to bet 99% of you would cower in person.
I am a family man with kids so you insecure people do not phase me, but it is downgrading the quality of xda and that is proven by less visits and posts by devs.
To those with patience and a desire to help noobs and others thank you. Mag,freeza,myn,empire,virus,leo and tons of others, thank you for your part in making this site bearable between the immature losers.
I am done with this topic now and will leave it to the bad ass guys to flame away. And by the way, I wonder how many of those smart asses have developed anything lately? Maybe they have, I haven't looked but just a thought.

Honestly, I wish mod's would just instantly delete any smart ass comments immediately. We are all here for the same reason, to learn more and how to mod our phones. I remember when I joined several years ago, there were no flames, and people helped out without posting something pointless like use the search button. We were all noobs once, and needed to be steered in the right direction.

True, but that's not always a valid excuse. Some quality contributors/dev's on XDA are only teenagers themselves. So there is always a flipside to the coin. That being said, it does feel like we need a yard duty at times. lol

True those devs are teens but you don't see them acting immature. And the way things are going. A yard duty is exactly what is needed to get the immature out of here IMO.
I made a comment to a certain member on here yesterday. One who always tries to belittle the person that made a mistake. I get tired of seeing that ****. I'm usually an easy going guy right out the gate. But that **** really gets under my skin. Why be a **** about it?? Just help and point or show him the right way. In the 2 paragraphs he wrote, it was all useless, instead of helping the guy out in less amount of space and energy. Felt good to know I had a lot of members behind me on that tho. There is hope!

I try to help where I can. I "troll" the q&a and general sections to answer where I can and help as much as possible. But in certain circumstances I have been know to be an ass at times and also post pictures to laugh at as well. While I see most here as normal people just looking for answers there are a select few that honestly need to further their education by returning to middle school and attempting to finish all twelve grades. Meaning u do get tired of seeing a select few that have no common sense nor do they attempt to fix any problems themselves. They would rather have someone do it for them and it gets tiring. Thise people r usually ruder than the people giving them a hard time to begin with. Sorry just my opinion

i try to stay away from post like these, but occasionally get sucked in.. i feel part of the problem here in 3D land, is that most of us come from different phones. meaning here on XDA we are coming from a different part of the forum. I came from the heroC boards, and everyone there was always helpful, if someone asked a question that had been asked before, yeah they may have gotten harrassed a little bit, but they got their answer. i think that everyone deserves the respect of an answer, but i also believe that you should put back into the community what you get out of it. for a community to grow, the community has to lead as an example for new members. give them the answer, but say i got this by using search, thats not outlandish.. and there isnt any problem with having fun either, you just have to know your boundaries, some people take it all a little too far.

Hey guys! Long story short, I unlocked, rooted and installed Clockwork as my recovery and it kept hanging when I was trying to do a backup.
I got frustrated and impatient so I just flashed CleanRom without doing a backup first. I love CleanRom and all, but if I wanted, can I go back to stock now that I don't have a backup?
Any info would be appreciated, thanks!
What is your definition of stock? Unrooted? Relocked? Untouched rom? Somemore information would be helpful to guide you in the right direction.

If you want to go back to stock. Relock your phone and grab the RUU. It will put you back from whence you came.

If you want a stock ROM here. To go back to complete stock you need to relock the phone and flash the latest RUU IIRC...

People posting in wrong sections and asking questions that have been asked about a million times get's very annoying. Have at it if that is what YOU want...if the OP would've used the search function, he/she would've found what they were looking for.
If you guys want to continue to baby people and spoon feed information to them then knock yourself out. If you post a new thread non-development thread in a development thread be prepared.
Jesus H. Christ on a pogostick, people. A "Development" forum isn't just for the Devs. It's also for people using the fruits of the devs' labors. Sometimes, they have questions. If they didn't, they'd probably be developing on their own, and XDA wouldn't need to exist. Sure, using search is advisable, dare I say it, recommended. But there is no reason to get nasty.
I've been a part of XDA since WinMo 5, and I left for a long time due to nastiness like this. I'm no developer. I just use what gets made, and I'm damn grateful for it. But there a reason XDA is slowly seeing a mass exodus to RootzWiki: Less (but still existent) dickery. Yes, what the devs do is a courtesy to the community. No, they shouldn't have to answer the sane questions repeatedly. The search doesn't always cut it, and it isn't always used. Wouldn't it just be easier to either quickly answer and encourage search usage politely or to quote and respond with a link to the relevant post? Even better yet, those of us that aren't devs but are at least semi-knowledgeable could give our service to the board and aid the devs by politely answering in their stead. Novel frickin idea.

If you took one peep at my first post in this thread I provided the OP exactly what he was looking for and more. I didn't just be a **** and exit the thread as I have seen quite a bit on this particular forum. Do you realize more than half the time the Devs aren't the ones answering the repeated questions?

With that being said, I have noticed a lot of hate and off topics posts going a lot in this community: especially in the development thread. Why guys? It's getting to the point where we are pushing away really great developers. Here's a couple rules that I'd like to share.
2.3 Flaming:
XDA was founded as a group of people sharing information about certain mobile phones. Sharing does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) it does involve working together to solve problems in an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Losing your temper and flaming another member, or group of members, is not acceptable behavior.
2.4 Personal attacks, racial, political and/or religious discussions:
XDA is a discussion forum about certain mobile phones. Mobile phones are not racial, political, religious or personally offensive, therefore none of these types of discussions are permitted on XDA.
We should be trying to help eachother.... Oh yeah that's another rule...
10. Help others if you can.
If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably already quite a few people newer than you that would benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.
I understand people all have their personal issues and this can impact their posts. I'm not going to say I'm above it because I've gotten into some heated discussions, too. If you have to let some steam off--let it off in here. I think it will make everyone feel a little better and relieve some hate off other threads.
For example: I was at school the other day and I accidentally sh*t my pants... it was sooo embarassing!!!!!!
or maybe:
My girlfriend cheated on me when she went on summer vacation to cancun!
Those were just examples though... they definitely never happened to me personally or anything.
Disclaimer: Please DO NOT use this thread to start a flame war with other members on xda! This is just meant to get something off your chest and hopefully make you feel a little better. I know it works for me. If you have any issues with a member DON'T POST IT IN HERE!
Forgive me if I wasn't clear before, but this thread is meant to VENT YOUR FRUSTRATIONS! It can be in regards to anything, no matter how immature or stupid it sounds. If another member has an issue with that post, unless it's a personal attack (which I've already stated should not be posted in this thread), please just bite your tongue and let the poster let some stress out. This isn't meant to be a highly intensive, thought provoking thread. This was just meant for personal issues; seems like if it has anything remotely to do with phones people will relate it to xda and take offense.
And again... if Mods feel like this isn't a good idea then I will understand.
Well said man! While we are on a roll; it really irks me when people get short with the devs for not delivering a release or fix in a timely fashion. These guys have jobs school and family's and still manage to turn out amazing works that they may or may not receive monetary compensation for. Be gracious and grateful to these guys or learn to do it yourself!

You get more comfortable with experience. My DInc was so easy to flash ROMs, although I only ever flashed Skyraider and Jermaine's Stock Plus after GB OTA'd.
How many ROMs have you flashed? Once the devs adjust to s-off, flashing becomes less of a process. One of the advantages of s-off.
Also, how do I put this? I see a lot of posts in General complaining about people abusing the devs in the dev section. But when I go to Scott's threads, and rarely to others, the posts are almost exclusively thanking the devs. Can anyone provide me a link to a few threads where the devs are being treated unreasonably? Or even just a few posts or posters who get out of control?
That's something that bothers me, when I see people getting reactive or over-protective of the devs, but then there is no indication that a dev was treated badly.
And by the way, I hand out my thanks freely, and I think we've got great people doing some great work here.

I am soo tired of hearing about poor battery, heat issues, being attributed to roms, leaks/radios, and whatever else is new at the time. I find it hard to believe that I am the only lucky S.O.B. that has had none of these issues, and I've flashed most of these. IMO, most of these issues are due to the H.I.P., Human Interface Program.

I just read about a couple people getting banned for a really stupid reason... The reason being for having a signature that has another forum in it.
I know its against the xda rules but come on! Is a big site like xda really gonna have anything to worry about lol. Nobody's gonna steal its fame.

The banning process is a collective effort. It's a decision that is made by a group of people. Bans are almost always well deserved and only initiated after other measures have failed. I hope this helps.

I know, but you understand what I'm getting at right? You, the mods, should be worried about bigger and more productive things. Not these little things. I'm almost afraid to post sometimes for the fear of getting a infraction from not studying the rule book

Well, it kinda serves a purpose - I mean do we want one coherent community, or do we want a fractured one where people are trying to redirect users to THEIR forum rather than use this one- whatever their motivation. Like if we are talking about the same outside forum, I think that a lot of those actions hurt amaze owners in the long run..
Me personally, I have no allegiance to do anything but help others as I help myself if I can, I'm not opposed to people on other forums benefiting from anything I do, but neither would I try to direct them here or vice versa.
I do recall what our mod saying as being absolutely true - they don't hand out bans lightly, and their rules are not ridiculous or hard to follow by far. I see some get away with some things(some devs pointing to other miui forums in their sig for example, not here), but no one really just ignores them altogether for the most part.
Meh, I'm shutting up, I really don't want to see any drama filled arguments, or at least don't want to contribute to starting one by far.
I've already posted, but someone's gotta get back on topic... He's just taking a little break. Lol pretty simple. Show support to the guy. He's busted ads trying to help the community. Enjoy the vaca and hopefully it will be a lil better next month........ When the sgs3 is lurking

I understand where you're coming from. Rules are set in place for a reason, and every member should know them, and follow them. Without rules, XDA would be chaotic. While certain things can be overlooked, others can not. Don't be afraid to post, that's not what we want for our members. That's why I.encourage everyone to read the rules and understand them. When I joined XDA back in 2007, I will admit that I didn't take the time to read the rules, as a result, I was making mistakes, posting in the wrong sections. Because of that, Moderators were moving, closing, and giving me warnings tonread the rules. Needless to say, my experience on XDA wasn't a pleasurable one. I decided to read the rules, and it taught me a lot of important things about how XDA operates. It was the best thing I did, and because of that, I was able to avoid making mistakes, which in turn kept the Moderators off my back. Now that I'm a Moderator I have a new appreciation for what Moderators do.
The same thing can be said about the Developers. They work so hard to bring us a lot of great things. They also spend a lot of time creating FAQ's to help members hack/mod their phones, yet some people just can't be bothered to take the time and read, read, read. :banghead:
At the end of the day, most problems could be avoided if people simply read the rules and followed them. Like I said earlier cerain minor offenses can be overlooked, while others can not. At the risk of sounding harsh, the rules are not a democracy, and those who fail to read and obide by them, will suffer the concequences.

Ok so while I was browsing the s3 forums and found a revolution thread (for those that don't know revolution is also adjust reviewers etc)

Honestly man, you should have just not commented in his thread. I understand the desire to warn people about him, but its honestly not worth arguing with him or anyone else about what he does. If he bricks someones phone, thats on them. We all know the risks involved when it comes to modifying our phones.
Not saying you did something wrong, but in the long run you'll realize its just not worth the hassle to say anything at all, regardless the reason. He's not a dev and he's not going to give you an educated answer like a dev can anyways. Just continue to work on the amaze like you've been doing and let the s3 forum figure out on their own who he is...

Well, just to clarify somethng Eclipse...A Mod can not ban anyone. Only Senior Mods have the power to ban you. With that said, a ban is an absolute last resort, unless it involves spamming, pirating, or another serious offense. If you were threatened with a ban for that, you could complin about that Mod. We as Mods also have a code to follow. Being heavy handed, or aggressive is frowned upon. You should have received a friendly PM, politely asking you to refrain from that. I've never had a problem with you, and I think it was overkill. Not how I would ha r handled it.

I had no idea he was here too. We had the "pleasure" of having him on the sidekick forums and youre right, all his **** was half-baked and yet he got to walk around like he owned the place. He definitely has a mod in his pocket, he got all kinds of people leaving the sk forums and he single handedly killed the device. The one or two real devs there bailed cause they got tired of his talking down to other people acting like he was gods gift to developing.
It makes me kind of angry that he has/is poisoning so many forums with his nonsense.
