Hi all,
Just having a little issue with the battery icon showing up twice. Its the any way I can remove one of them without doing a factory reset?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

first, it would've been easier to say what rom are you using. i'm guessing it's some kind of kitkat custom rom. try going to settings, interface, status bar, battery status style and select hidden, now it should hide either 1 or both battery icons

I'm currently using the latest archi rom 2.3.6 which unfortunately doesn't seem to have these options but I had been using gravitybox xposed module to change the battery settings. Changed it to disable and now I have 1! Not sure how I would customise it now though but it is the battery format I usually use so it will do for now.
thanks for your help

Does anyone know if its possible to get the circle battery mod (circle with percentage in the notification bar) on our GSIIs? Already missing that from my Captivate.
I'm not sure on the mod, I was hoping for the same kind of thing coming from my rooted captivate. However, if you download an app on the marketplace called "Battery Solo Widget," it allows you to have a widget on your desktop showing what you are looking for. That's what I'm using for now.

It's possible. You just need root and you can change it yourself (by modifying the framework-res apk and replacing the existing one with root explorer, or the like) if you have the icons (or with UOT - you'll need CWM for this method obviously).

You can also use battery circle app. That will give you the percent in the status bar.

SIMI clock is a good clock widget that also has a circle battery icon built in. it's also free.
You can also look here:

Thanks. Downloaded it and am happy with Battery Circle. I wish I could use it to replace the crappy one that comes stock.
I used it before I did a custom ROM.

If you still have the apk file on your captivated, you can copy it over and it works great. It was 1 of the first things I installed.

1 - Any way to remove the vibration notification? I like to have vibrate on all the time, but I'd like to remove that icon.
2 - How do you set a full wallpaper? Even the ones Samsung gives you can only be snipped. I'm currently on Go Launcher, and those wallpapers are full sized. Anyone know how to make all images full size?
Thanks in advance.
you have to have the proper resolution for the wallpaper the samsung ones wont strech because of it.

Has anyone looked into this? I find the ever preset icon annoying enough to not use the feature. Is there an app to hide status bar icons?

I don't think I'd want to do that. I just want to get rid of unneeded, persistent icons. Especially since so many apps stick things in there just to prevent from closing.
i too cannot stand that stupid vibration icon, i know its in vibrate, hy do i need an icon for it also

Exactly! I also just installed the awesome Badass Battery Monitor * and am really interested in a solution for hiding unneeded notification icons. I can't believe this doesn't exist.
* - "awesome" is my opinion, "Badass" is actually part of the app's name

Sorry but another guy having problem with notification item. Certain apps like GTA 3 will stay on my notification bar after exiting the game. I tried the clear button but it won't go away until I reboot my phone. Any alternate way to get rid of?
Errrrrrr sorry I couldn't resist my question when I saw notification question.
How do I get my battery icon to look like this? (I am on an i9300).
Believe it or not, if you're fairly new to Android, it's hard to google this one.
A number of ways with customs roms or simple bar icons changing apps that's called circle mod icon u need root to be able to do these things

So you believe the phone in the picture (taken from Mobilesyrup's review) was rooted?
Anyways, thanks for answering my question.

Exactly. I don't want to wade through my sea of icons to find my battery life. I also don't want to have a graphical battery icon and a percentage taking up two spots....
Pictures like that of the mobilesyrup review seem to show a newly released device that's [most likely] not rooted. Does the LTE SGS3 have some different ROM on it with that battery icon included?

You need to be rooted. I take pride in saying that my phone is rooted.
You don't own a gs3 if you are not rooted.

if u are rooted, flash omega 7.0 rom. The battery is there by default. And its a amazing rom also.
This thread has turned into something of a battle hahaha...
I rooted with cf-root in the sticky in the dev forum and I installed "XXALF2-ODEX-BatMod-v2.zip" from here.
And don't you just love people who pad post counts and don't read the whole thread:

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there was a way to get the percentage to show (possibly even inside the battery icon) in the notification bar without downloading a separate app or widget. There's plenty of forums about it but nothing specifically for the dna or jelly bean. I'm currently rooted with s-on (s-off will be my project for tonight) and running genome 2.0, which is awesome btw, props to factory rom, check it out if you're looking for a new rom.
Not without flashing a different Rom with a battery mod. Or a battery mod zip for your specific rom
I guess I'll just have to contact the dev to see if they'd be willing to do something like that, thank you

Look in the themes sections for all rom battery mods. I know there are a few themers that have released some.

in kitkat there is no drawable anymore for battery icon, but it's a java implementation, so it is not possible to just change some icons.
so you need a rom which supports the battery symbol change

no they can't. however there are some xposed modules which are able to change the symbol. currently i am not sure if they can really change the icon or simply add one, so you still have to switch somehow your "old" battery symbol off.
