Avoid Gophermods Repair (Inexperienced Staff) - G2 General

I dropped my LG G2 in December, screen was partially shattered but it was working fine. Then I went to Gophermods to get it repaired, they changed the screen 4 times because it was showing grey lines either instantly or few days after each repair. I told the manager to be careful with the ribbon cable as that might be causing the problem after the third repair. He repaired it and this time he didn't even glue the screen properly it popped out held only by connectors, and the back cover clips weren't all locked in with gaps showing, frustrated I glued the LCD myself with epoxy worked fine for a month then same problem occurred (vertical grey lines and shadows of previous activities). Then he repaired it again tested for a week and then suddenly he said same problem occured right before giving it back to me and offered a refund. I returned home and ordered a white G2, eventually as usual screen popped out because he didn't glue it in properly and the lines eventually dissapeared and is working fine ever since as long as screen is not fixed fully into the front housing. I went to some sites selling replacement screens and they said be very careful with the ribbon cables or the previously mentioned problem occurs. I don't know what this guy did but I cant even put the screen back in to the housing all the way like before without getting the previously mentioned problems.
I would just like to tell everyone here to avoid Gophermods, the guy (manager and only worker in his store) was nice but he clearly had little experience repairing phones. The day I took my refund, a lady with a "repaired" iPad screen came in with problems apparently this was her second time there.

Touch not recognized with 2 digitizers

Ok I'm stumped. A couple months ago I dropped my phone and shattered the digitizer. There were no other problems. This week I bought a lcd/digitizer/casing on ebay (all I had to do was put my motherboard into the new casing). I turn on the phone and test the screen. About 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the screen, there is a horizontal line across the screen that does not register touches. If you press directly on the line it registers two touches on either side of it.
Thinking it was a bad digitizer, I complained to the guy on ebay and put my motherboard back into the old casing with the broken digitizer. Now I have the exact same problem on the old digitizer. Same horizontal line, same spot on the old phone.
Any ideas of what could be causing this other than the digitizer??

[Q] Galaxy SIII touch screen unresponsive

About a month ago, my fiance dropped his phone from the work truck (about seven feet) and of course, the screen cracked and had a big spider web on the upper left portion. Oddly enough, the touch screen still worked fine. While functional, the spider web annoyed him greatly, so we got a new glass screen for the phone.
We originally purchased the wrong model (he has a r530). When the screen wasn't working I took the phone to a repair shop and the guy said I very well could have gotten the wrong model screen for the phone. So we bought the correct model screen for his phone and the same thing happened. The soft buttons are working, the noise works and it lights up just fine. The LCD screen is in perfect condition and the guy at the repair shop said I replaced the screen perfectly (I used the plastic tools and a blowdryer and kept the heat away from the center of the phone and took my time. The original screen came off in one piece and I didn't run into any problems during the replacement.)
We recently ordered a new screen, thinking the last one we received may have been defective. However, after placing the new screen on the phone, the same exact issue arises where the soft keys work but the actual screen did not.
So...I was hoping for some help/advice. We really don't want to have to buy the LCD/Screen/Digitizer combo cause it's soo expensive. Could the digitizer have somehow been ruined during the replacement?
Thanks for any input you have. It is greatly appreciated.
well, did you replace the digitizer? if yes, then the issue is in the motherboard

I haven't been able to figure out how to replace just the digitizer, nor have I been able to find where to buy just a digitizer. Do you have any suggestions?
From what I understood, the digitizer was integrated into the LCD screen but I may be mistaken.
It's not the motherboard because if I take the motherboard from his phone and put it in mine everything works fine.
Search for the screen replacement how to and also you tube video .

touch is the digitizer's responsibility

RMA - Did they replace it or fix it?

So I just got my prime back from second RMA. It was sent again because the WiFi was still just as crap the first time it came back (I 'undid' the mod I had done to it). The serial was unknown also. AND, they put a little dent in the corner. I told them to fix all of this.
I got it back about a week later and the whole outside of the tablet is 'new'. No scratches etc... the plastic is still on the back. The camera lens cover even looks new. Before I sent it, it had the dent they made, and scratches that accumulated overtime - also scratches around the bottom. The WiFi works far better and serial number is the same as when I first bought it.
The 'ASUS service repair sheet' says the screen was replaced, and the 'LCD COVER' was replaced. (I'll attach a pic). Says nothing about replacing the outershell...
I'll attach both repair sheets. And looks like they replaced the screen twice.
The tablet is still the same one that was sent in, sort of. The main board, LCD and camera modules were replaced, along with the rear cover. It's basically a new unit since almost all the main components were switched out. But technically, it's still the original one that you sent in - same serial number, MAC address, and everything.
Thanks, was just wondering because I'm still unable to unlock. Probably some issue with ASUS's severs and not my tablet now that it's been through 2 RMA's.

TF201 came back after RMA in worst shape

I recently sent my TF201 out for WiFi "boost" and second green camera fix. Went out in the stock box and padding and came back in the same. Somewhere in there fix factory they managed to dent 2 corners and whoever pieced back my tablet did a crappy job. I can literally squeeze 1mm close the right side to the top; some more than less.
Besides not improving if not making the WiFi worse, the techs did something to my TF to ding up the 2 corners. Anyone else experienced such.... well, poor treatment of their TF?

I had a very similar experience with my first RMA. Wifi wasn't improved at all, Camera was blurry. Came back with a dent in the top corner and scratches and all this adhesive on the back... There was also a gap between screen and frame, and clicky noises everywhere. Sent it back again to 'fix' these dents and scratches and also fix serial number issue+Fix Wifi.
Came back second time with brand new casing, Wifi was improved a bit, Camera was fixed and serial was re-written. So now my prime is in flawless condition. However, I still can't unlock the device so it's going back AGAIN! Lets hope they don't scratch it because it's as good as new right now.
Tell them that it came back in bad condition and for them to 'fix' it or replace it.
On my second rma to the czech republic they returned my prime with the screen not seated correctly because of something out of place behind the screen (if I pushed the screen down near the speaker the lcd flexed and distorted like there was something under the lcd). The original box that I sent in perfect condition came back with a dent in every corner. The outer packaging was fine so it was not dhl the did the damage it was asus service that kicked it around the depot for 3 weeks.
A bigwig at asus uk customer support agreed to replace the box when I sent it for the third rma to correct the screen but when it can back about 3 weeks later it was in the same beat up box. I let i drop because I was sick or the problem and was glad to get my tablet back after nearly 3 months of rma's.
This is standard ASUS service. Learn from it and concider another manufactuer when buying you next device, I know I will.
Edit
I should also point out (to be fair to ASUS) that it is ASUS's policy to replace a device with a reconditioned unit after the third RMA for the same problem. When mine was returned for the third time it was a reconditioned unit in perfect condition (other than the bootloader unlock error). The one I sent had a few tiny scratches and a small scuff on the top corner so I was pleased to recieve a replacement even if the whole experience was like pulling teeth.

[Q] Replaced digitizer, part of the screen doesn't register.

So my phone had a faulty digitizer, ghost tapping almost all the time, so I ordered a new digitizer and replaced it myself. So, now the ghost tapping is gone, but a part in the middle of the screen doesn't register touch. (well, it does, it just registers it either above or below that area.)

First thing i did was open it up again and check the connection of the ribbon and blow any dust away. That didn't work.
So, is there anything I can do or is it just a botched job?
it is most likely a faulty digitizer. especially if you got it from china. i had to get a few replacements from the same dealer over the course of a few months due to various defects on the digitizer. considering just sending it to an official service center
