Just curious as of 2-18-2014, which ROMs are best with the D803 variant?
AOSP or flex?

Between AOSP/AOSB and Flex/Stock I have to go with Flex/Stock, I prefer having a feel other than Android OS, to me it is very basic, but very functional, I guess I like having all the goods that come with Flex/Stock ROM.
I have to choose the Flex/Stock for all the apps that comes with it as long as it is debloated, but I can get rid of the bloat with a few apps.
I have been on AeonFlex 3 for a while and wanting to migrate but which ones are compatible?

I have been bouncing back and forth between stock and AOSP, then tried a few flex rom.... I finally settled on Aeonflex too.
Coming from the Note 2 and beanstalk 4.4, Aeonflex Has what I was looking for, dark UI and stock apps.
1. A question should have been asking in Q&A sub-section, not in General.
2. I believe it is against the XDA rules to ask "which is best ROM"
Just give you a head up.

I have to say omni and carbon. both sick. of course that only means they are what I prefer, not that they are the best. good battery., no carrier boat /clunkyness.

I really am happy with the roms for our device up to date. Its not just the powerful hardware that gets me. I have plenty of other devices. Aosp, sense, touchwiz, blur. Out of all of the available roms. I'm really digging these LG roms. The launcher. Q-slide. Its all very functional for me. Oh and the calculator especially.
I think even though I'm dying to try Aosp on this phone like every one else. I think at the end of the day ill still be rockin an LG based rom. I was wondering if anyone else is thinking like me?

NO YOU NOOB GO AWAY! HOW DARE YOU PRAISE STOCK ROMS CM10 AOSP ALL THE WAY.
But seriously, LG did a great job with keeping stock from bogging down the phone.

according to some people in these forums, being here and liking stock is a sin. You run AOSP or anything else non-stock or GTFO.
Sigh.

Yeah yeah. Some people get real ballsy on here. I flash what I like. Sometimes I use my cm7 defy. Sometimes other old phones. I've been on the base for a min. Now I'm playing with jb ports. I personally like them.

I actually prefer stock based ROMs. All the features of the phone work lol. I've been running The Base since I got my LGOG and have no intention of updating. The battery life and performance are flawless.

I've done the n4 conversion several times, flash the JB ports, but I always find myself coming back to LG stock Rom. It just works!

What is the best (meaning most stable and usable) rom available for the Verizon Samsung S4? I see CM gets a lot of attention.. is it currently the best rom? AOKP, PureG? I just really don't like the TW look at all and want the best JB experience possible.
Thanks

X is the best ROM but I like using Y because I like it but my friend uses A because he says its the best. My grandmother is running Z and says its the best. X is the best but we use different roms because we like bugs and crashes....
This is equivalent to "what is the best car"....

So there isn't one or more that are known for having the least bugs? If they are like cars then what are the $70,000 + range roms?

is web not answering you best .. though I'm no expert into this but whenever i get into such needs i look for the same and most of the times it proves accurate in suggesting me an efficient choice.
On case you haven't figured out out, there is no across the board best ROM. It is a subjective choice and threads such as this are against the rules. So... IBTL

My understanding is that Android Development is modification of TouchWiz based ROMs and Original is anything that wouldn't fall under that category such as AOSP ROMs, custom Kernels, etc.

Original is for original work. Regular is for any modified, ported, tweaked, themed work.

This is how I see it as well. I was confused for quite some time until I finally realized the difference
You guys aren't getting it. The regular development isn't just for touchwiz ROMs. It's also for ports or additional work to roms that the dev didn't do THE ORIGINAL work to.
If it's not new or ground breaking or an original piece of work it doesn't belong in original.

No, the developer only section is for developers only.
To be fair though, only people actively developing should be making new threads in either of the development sections.
I was just wondering what is the difference they look very similar. I am currently running a TW clean ROM with all the bload ware removed and wanted to try something else. I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong section!

GE 4.2.2 still has most of the TW framework in it natively. Where as any TW stuff in CM was added.
CM also has more user changeable options. GE is pretty much how it is

I personally would disagree with that. CM has way too many customizations to be anywhere near pure aosp. I'm not saying they aren't welcomed customizations but they are indeed customizations. I personally am not a huge fan of pure aosp because of the lack of customizations baked into the settings.

You really can't go wrong with CyanogenMod. :good:
I'd also recommend ChameleonOS by @Treken as it is sower solid and with personal conversations with trek he has shown to be very knowledgeable and under the same mindset that IMO all Linux/android Devs should be under. That is ask each other questions, share knowledge you gained by doing a task that caused troubles, and in general do not withhold info or ignore other Dev questions. :good:
And for another plug of an aosp ROM id also suggest SlimRom just because it is wicked light and plenty capable.
ChaOS and Slim are the only AOSP ROMs I've ran in over a month on the gs4. My nexus 7 just runs PACman.

☢ [ROM][4.4.2][NC2/NC4] *** Got bigginsROM? V5 ***[6/26/14] ☢ I have to say is the best ROM for a Rooted Verizon Note 3. I have tried all ROMs that are stable and form Battery Life to the Visuals, hands down BIGGINS know what he is doing. Keep up the great work and hope to see what's coming in the future. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733275 . In know way at all was I told or even contacted to post this. I just wanted to help anyone out there that was wondering what ROM to choose. Enjoy it as much as I do.
I agree Biggins rom being a top contender along with Baja's rom. Rite now i'm running Biggins V5 and patently waiting for Baja's and sbreen94 next build. I used Hyperdrive has a daily driver on my S3 and for a long while on my N3. All great developers. Much respect
I totally agree that Baja and Hyperdrive are great ROMs and developers. Many thanks to all their hard work. I had Hyperdrive as my daily driver for a while. As of now, I am loving Biggins V5. Im one of those who loves to change things up, so I am always changing my ROMs. Can't wait to see more to come from all these GREAT guys!!!

Everyone is allowed there own opinion right.
But no one can do true AOSP code on a locked bootloader like @nitroglycerine33.

I have tried out baja rom, hyper drive, eclipse rom.. My fave rom is eclipse by far, best battery life and aosp styling is nice. The other roms are good and i'm looking forward to trying out rom updates on the new safestrap slots.
not generally a fan of these threads since i appreciate all the devs and the different stuff they create but since the rom isnt mentioned here and has been the most updated rom i have ever used on a locked bootloader device then i have to make sure that @hsbadr with his Jasmine rom gets listed.
he is also about to launch a FULL S5 port with the Note 3 specific features injected.
thanks to all the devs listed and not
I originally opened this thread to see what users had to say about a ROM. I put my opinion and read many others. Since the first thread was posted I have tried other ROMs that were mentioned here. Purpose was a success. THANKS Again to all the hard working developers that make these forums worthy and make our phones outstanding!!! As I have said before in other posts, keep up the GREAT work and can't wait to see what's on the horizon
