Hello,I have been trying to get a ROM for the X2 that was rooted.I cannot grasp this no matter how many times I reread,Only choice is to accept this is bigger than me.I gather there is a single rom compatible with this phone.Eclipse.I need a rom that has zero glitches associated with it if possible. What else is there. There are many tutorials on installing roms that make no sense to me.Is there any that break down the process in plain english and in easier to follow steps.i am going to post a screenshot of my phone stats to show version.a video tutorial on how to install a rom on my specific devices version would be most beneficial.screenshot to follow shortly.Even loading an attachment was unsuccessful so here are the stats. 1.3.418 mb870 droid x2 2.3.5 n_03.13p 2.6.32.9-00008-gc406305 kernel

just flash a ROM like shostock that well change you're build.prop to an i9100. Or modify the build.prop.of the ROM you're flashing then flash it. I believe you can prevent it from checking.

Please reinstall Kernel or use an other Kernel. Status 7 Error comes most of the times from a bricked CWM. Dont worry this cant brick ur Phone completly. ^^

Difference is updated MIUI and always latest CM9 nightly. cMIUI do a great job.
I only started it to get more performance, stability and smoothness. I do my best to fix all problems. ^^
Nice work, I'm surely gonna try .
Status 7 error has nothing to do with kernel.
updater script is looking at build.prop for model #.
edit updater script check for build ID.
Something like that. Google it.

^^^ this. You can either do what Moto suggests, or if you're not technologically inclined, just flash any Rom based on an 9100 firmware like shostock 2 (now version 3) and then wipe and flash this. It'll update your build.prop to show i9100.

am going to download Cyanogenmod but i need to know couple of things first
1 which should i go for Stable or release candidate : http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/I9300_Info
2 is CM an additional features or editions program to the stock ROM or a complicity full ROM ( cant really figure out this part )
3 is there a post updating the info about CM (plz post it)
4 what about common issues i'd face while installing it or its stable enough not to let me face any problem ( my first time installing custom roms)
5 what about this issue on the website " Can't view videos on video player nor on google photos. They can only be heard. " (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_i9300 )
6 can i use odin while flashing CM ?
can someone post me the link of custom roms of GT-i9300 ??
thanks so much

1. Download the stable build.
2. Its an entire rom. No rom is an additional feature to stock. Rom replaces stock.
3. Wat do u mean post updating abt cm? Changelog?
4. U can use the cyanogenmod installer to install the rom. Just do a nandroid back up first.
5. U cannot see videos on video player nor on google photos. There is only sound but no screen. Just use other video players on google play like VLC.
6. U can but u said its ur first time so i recommend u to use the cyanogenmod installer. Its safer for u.

you should really go through the stickies before flashing so you don't brick your phone! go through this link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911726
and all your doubts are mentioned in one way or the other in the thread of temasek's cyanogenmod.

Firstly, excuse any naive comments. I'm pretty new to this modding scene (had rooted my Galaxy S3 but never changed ROM)
I got a HDX 7" for Christmas and after the last couple of days I've decided that Fire OS is a steamy heap. Why can't I used Google Play damnit!
So I used a couple of Android Cowboy guides to get root on the HDX and then I for SafeStrap installed so I can boot a different ROM and have a play.
I'm now at the point where I want to try some ROMs out, but I have no idea what to try or whether development is far enough along that any ROMs will function (I assume it is too early for all that).
Instead I would like to install Fire OS again, to a different ROM slot (so I don't break my stock), and install some modifications to give me access to Google Play etc.
Really, if I can get google play going on the kindle I will be happy enough.
Does anyone know if there are any ROMs that play well with the HDX 7" (and where to get them).
Does anyone know where to find the stock Fire OS (or how to dupe my stock and install it to a ROM slot).
cheers internet

I rooted my 8.9 HDX a few months ago, and when the latest two updates started being released, I put it into airplane mode, defeating the reason for having a tablet. I am running Safestrap with the rooted stock rom installed in a rom slot, X-posed module intalled, Android firewall setup, and all those things that were originally thought to prevent update, but I know that as soon as I turn on Wi-Fi it will get updated. I understand that modifying the build.prop is currently the only way to prevent the update, but I can't find (and yes, I have searched the forum) the correct way to safely mod it.
Can someone please post a short tutorial for safely modding the build.prop for the 8.9HDX? Any help would greatly be appreciated.
The attached apk is a different xposed mod that I currently use to block updates. It works.Renaming com.amazon.dtcp.apk (or "dcp" I can't remember) to com.amazon.dtcp.off will work too. Use both. https://peniscorp.com/KindleUpdatesOff.apk Freaking weird URL, i know.

You must switch to SS to be able to flash this rom.I used BMM for 2 years and now I'm using SS...
Well,I tried just to uninstall BMM recovery and install SS recovery but I could not boot.
You must go back to stock with Rsd Lite if you have XT910 or with Matllgrof's utility if you have XT912,root the phone and install the new 3.75 SS.

Hi
I'm planning to test this ROM soon (a bit late since I've just managed to unbrick there phone )
But as far as I know Lollipop is now using ART instead of dalvik, yes?
So is there something we should specifically do to accommodate this change? Installation instructions don't really mention anything about this, but I'm just trying to be safe, I'll do no good if I end up bricking my phone again, will end up asking for help instead of actually helping with testing lol

Running 11/23 version on my Razr. Only major problem is wifi not connecting after reboot. Toggling airplane mode usually brings it back. Good Rom for alpha. Have used betas that didn't work as well. My Razr is not activated, so can't speak to phone calls or sms/mms.
Taped from my Moto X OG Dev Edition
Just installed the 23/11 build stuck with startup animation
Did a clean install after deleting the rom-slot and recreating it.
New SS installed.
previous build (20/10) )went just fine.
EDIT: Deleted the rom-slot again, installed system only and after reboot Gapps + SuperSU, now I'm good
