Well here's another issue I'm having, that didn't seem to arise until recently (or maybe I haven't noticed it until now, but that's unlikely). I'm getting the dreaded left-ear beep in my headphones with my resound. I read that this is apparently the sound when your rezound is roaming and it finds a new network or something like that. I read a solution on a Verizon website saying all I have to do is disable the roaming b

My message got cut short :S
I read on Verizon that I need to disable roaming beep in mobile network settings. The only problem is I don't have that option in my settings. Is other a hidden menu I can go into from the phone dialer or something to disable this? I am running gsm-compatible AOKP 4.2.2 jellybean with T-Mobile as my carrier. And yes I tried disabling network roaming itself as well as switching headphones and none of this worked.

Over the weekend I had to dial 911 from my house. I got a message saying "All circuits are busy, please try again later." My phone went into emergency mode, as indicated by an icon in the notification bar and a timer on the screen. I tried calling twice, a few minutes apart. I ended up sending someone across the street to call.
I called Verizon today to ask about the situation and disclosed that I'm rooted and running a custom ROM (currently Nonsensikal 16.1). The guy told me that it's common for custom software to mess up some types of calls including 911 and 411. I have no trouble calling 411.
So, my question: Is this true? Can a custom ROM really prevent you from calling 911? Was it just coincidence that I couldn't connect? Is there some other problem? How might I test a possible fix?
To my knowledge out can be somewhat true but unlikely since your phone connected and the message "all circuits busy" is something that happens on emergency service lines. It happens when a high volume of calls are coming in to 911. Verizon people are not associated with custom roms and usually don't know much on the subject

So today I just called 911. Went through just fine. They told me the "all circuits are busy" msg was not from them. Im thinking that was Verizon's lines being busy and had nothing to do with custom software.

i have read somewhere that someone who had a rooted eris and a custom rom had to call 911. when they tried to dial it something happened with the rom that 911 didnt work or wouldnt complete. so it has happened before
Not saying it wouldn't happen on a custom rom but the reports are few and far between

Randomly this evening, my phone has decided that it no longer wants to send any MMS messages. I can send SMS messages just fine, but MMS messages do not go through. They sit for a while, and then it just says that the text message cannot be sent.
Anyone have any suggestions that don't involve factory resetting?

You have 2 options.
1)do master reset and retest it.
2) call your cell carrier.
I had a similar problem a few nights ago. All I had to do was reboot it.
That's all I need to do for a few random glitches.

Do you have data disabled? I noticed when data is disabled, mms do not go through..
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk
No, data was enabled. I was able to browse the internet and such, so I don't think it was a connectivity problem. But it's fixed now, so I guess it really doesn't matter.

Okay. When I said it was fixed that was actually a lie. It's started doing it again. I have no idea what caused it, but it will sometimes work and sometimes not. Any ideas anyone?

Will it be the APN settings problems?
In some country you have to set your mms APN manual
Mine does the same thing. A restart is only a temporary fix because it has done it again a day later or so. I have not found anything to fix it yet.
I am on 4g. Not on wifi. unlimited messages.

Try this on dialpad
*#*#4636#*#*
Wacth phone services
Then tap second right update buttom
It must be filled with Service Center Number, for sms/mms data. If you get 'update error', you may have a bug in system that prevents it from correctly setup of older sim cards (mostly cutted ones), if so, buy a new micro sim. It's cheap and solves a lot of small problems
Thanks, and if helps any way, share the learnin'

I tried this but every time I entered the code nothing popped up. But I think I've figured it out. It appears to only happen when I'm connected to a WiFi network. So I guess I just have to disconnect from WiFi if I want to send an MMS message.

I had the same issue, tried a number of things to fix it. Called Verizon and apparently it's a known issue that they expect to be fixed with the upcoming GB update. Other than that the only way I was able to workaround was installing Go SMS Pro, which sent MMS messages fine.
I figured out what the problem is! It stems back to the problem the Razr has with switching between 3G and 4G. In my house, I have to use WiFi because I live on the edge of a 4G service area. I get maybe one bar of 4G service, which without WiFi, pretty much refuses to do anything having to do with data. Apparently, even though WiFi is enabled, the MMS messages are NOT being transmitted over WiFi. So instead, it attempts to send them over 4G cellular data and fails because of the poor reception in my house. Switching the phone from CDMA/LTE to CDMA only before sending the messages (my signal reception jumps to 4 bars) allows it to send without failing.

Sometimes when I receive a call, I'll answer it and it will play the person's recording of their name and say "press 1 to accept or 2 to..." What's going on? Never had this happen on any other phone... I'm completely stock. Thanks.
Do you use Google Voice? That sounds like your calls might be going through GV. Just a thought.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I didn't think of that... But... I only use it for voicemail and it has never happened in my other phones. I don't use google voice for calls.
Hmm. Well maybe when you set up voicemail, somehow it also set to have your calls go through GV? I might would double check the settings just to make sure. I know one time I had a similar issue and checked the settings and saw it was set that way. I don't know why... as I didn't purposely set it that way... so I apparently did something on accident.

I got an AT&T SIM card today for my AT&T prepaid the desire 610. The signal is consistently on 1 bar and goes from 4g to Edge and I can hardly ever send texts without them failing. Is there a way to update the PRL or something to update the network on this phone? Unfortunately, there's no PRL update option in the settings like there is for the desire 510.

Just a shot in the dark here but have you tried turning your phone on safe mode just a see if it's not something that's third party that could be affecting your signal or messages. Before I installed adaway I had addblock Plus and it was making it to where I couldn't send any messages.
I don't know too much about troubleshooting phone signal but i have had 3rd party apps toggle weirdness with my calls/text before. Also make sure your APN settings are right

I have noticed that when I place a call, I do not hear any ringing. I see a connecting message in the wailer & then I hear the persons voice when they pick up. Only had the phone about 3 weeks. Not sure if it is new or always done this. Kind of annoying. Any ideas? Thanks.

I disabled VOLTE and WIFI calling and got the ringing back. I'm not sure if it was coincidental or not.
Same here. Easy fix just disable VOLTE. Calls still go through, if not but you dont know your connected until you hear the other person talking.

I have both of them off. Still not ringing.
That solved it for me...but I need HD calling so I am just dealing with it for now. I read in another thread the a guy did a complete factory reset and they solved it for them. I personally can not afford to loose my configuration so I haven't tried that method.

Don't bother. I tried it a few times and it did no good.. The only thing that worked was to disable the VOLTE. Hopefully we'll get 1 more update on this.. either MM 6.0.1 or Android N .

Hey all, I believe this is actually an issue with the new version of Google search, specifically if you have the in app voice search function enabled.
Go into Google, voice search and disable the in app option. Worked for me. I did not have to change any other settings.
I tried disabling google voice only but it didn't fix it. I disabled Voice Over LTE and WIFI calling and it fixed it.
I was just getting the same thing on my Verizon Samsung S9. Toggled "Advanced calling" (turned it off and then back on agin) and the ringing on outbound calls is back. I like that a lot better as opposed to calling into the abyss. I can hear that the call connected and is progressing.
