On Android and other os's the user's program can not answer the phone using code alone. Is that true with UT as well?

Have a look here http://www.ateksoft.com/
You can also get a free solution here:

After installed, select the VH capture device in your application, then run the Camera application in your Wizard.

[Q] App Inventor

Here's a question I've not seen asked yet....
I've just started using Google's appinventor and I'm wondering if there is any way of loading an ".apk" file into it. If not, how can I convert an .apk file into an appinventor project file?
Guess I must be posting in the wrong place!

no idea, sorry
Also, I tried app inventor for a bit... I guess it does what it says it will do, ie cater to the needs of non-dev people who want to make apps
But coming from a dev background, I don't see myself working with it too long, just to get familiar with the android OS. Once I do that, its back to good old Eclipse

Where would I start learning about programming for Android? I'm a total beginner, but I learn quickly
Well, is not difficult as long as you have some programming knowledge.
It won't make a big difference if is Android or other platform
Specifically for android:
http://developer.android.com/index.html
And google search

[Q] Installing apps without using marketplace

It's not that it's just that some of the apps which are free on other devices, like android are not on wp7? I think it's a joke, i mean who's putting the prices on?
I think if you register as a dev then you can push apps using the development tool but then they know who you are as they have your windows live ID and everything attached to it.
Don't think i'll be doing any of that in a hurry.

Spire for Android?

Hi,
is it possible to port spire (siri-port for non-i4s-idevices) to android? I've now set up an SiriProxy server wo caches the iPhone 4S UDID and works now with non-iPhone4S-Devices.
But I need a UI for Android - then it's possible to bring Apple's Siri to Android - legally!
Greetings.

It is legal, custom servers like i4Siri use Google's servers and not Apple's; would you mind sharing the name of that app?

It's basically the same UI as siri.

[Help]Any way to change the function of hard key?

My phone after installed the android rom..all things run well...
but...only the power button works but not others...it may be due to different model of a Hong Kong Phone from Europe/ US phone...anyway to give the keys back functions that they should have? thanks
Go to Spare Parts, and change the power key to home.
You should search first... Thx. Also, post in the ROM/Build thread!! That way we know what you're using, instead of having to guess...
Yes, I searched, peoples using spare part as well... but I just seen End button behaviour only in Spare Parts...no other keys...so I wonder whether there is any other methods.?
sorry for making such thread

Oh, I thought you only wanted to change the end call key.
If you want to change around other buttons, you'll have to hack at the source. Depends on what you're running - on HaRET, you'd need to modify the keymaps in the rootfs. On NAND, I'm guessing the keymaps in /system/etc. Either way, this isn't something that's easily done nor recommended.
Maybe an app like this.

Well it does say, "As can be expected, the application requires complete root access, with a NAND unlocked device and complete, permanent write access to the system directory."
This is where you have to start to do a little research on your own.
