[Q] doubletwist wont play headset beeps indicaters, hardware issue? - Motorola Droid X2

Recently I switch from useing a Samsung galaxy player 4.0 as a pmp to a Droid x2, and was suprised to find that my favorite feature of my favorite music player was not working. In Doubletwist when you use the headset to play/pause skip forward/back and shufle an indicator beep of different tone plays to let you know it got the message. With the X2 thought only the shuffle tone seemed to work. I tracked it down to the fact that the mp3 files that are actually played by the app are to short (under 10 milliseconds) or to small (around 1Kb) to register. Found this out by extracting the doubletwist apk and trying to play the mp3 directly, the shuffle tone being longest played fine (20milisecond 2.4Kb). Any one have an suggestions on how to fix this? I have tried extracting then replacing the files with ones that will play, and rebuilding, but the final result crashes on startup.

FIXED IT
Alright I fixed the issue. After some experimintation, with APKmultiTool, I found that if I extracted the apk then make the modifications, and then zipped the apk again, at the highest comppression (9), then signed it, it would install but crash on launch. It still did not seem to want to work at compression between 0 and 9. I tried at 8 7 and 2 and those did not work. I lowerd the compression to 0 and zipped and signed again then the install worked.
Now the player can play the audio files and have them register as sound.

Reminder issues

I've got PK3 Dual installed - and have had since it came out - but recently I've been having issues with notifications and ringtones. I have no problems with those notifications set as WAVs, but if I try a WMA sound I get nothing. The same with ringtones, MP3 seems OK now, but WMA doesn't work. Some won't play at all, selecting others results in a message box that the file is corrupted - but it isn't. It plays fine in Windows Media.
At one point I thought it was down to file associations with other players. At that point I was having issues with both MP3 and WMA sounds, and no other software was associated, although they had been. I renebaled MP3 and WMA in CorePlayer, quit, ran again and disabled them then soft reset and MP3 sounds started working, but not WMA. Then I went to TCPMP and did the same for WMA only. At first, that worked - suddenly WMAs worked again so I set a WMA sound as my main reminder. Then I went into phone options and tried to set a WMA ringtone, but it wouldn't and now the WMA reminders don't work anymore either. I didn't run TCPMP in the meantime, but did try Windows Media to test a couple of the WMA files that wouldn't work as ringtones.
I'm stumped - I've even looked through the registry and not seen anything amiss other than WMAs have an EventHandler subfolder in HKCU and WAVs don't.
What's most annoying is that I got it working and then literally two minutes later it didn't.
Anyone able to shed some light on this? If not, I'll have to try a hard reset. Either that or change all my sounds to WAVs and MP3s.

mp3 problem...

Hi folks,
My Hero runs on 2.1.
I've recently moved some music onto my phone but no matter what I do, the mp3s are not detected by either the stock mp3 player or MixZing player. When I access the actual mp3 files through Linda file manager and open them using MixZing, they play, but I get an error about tags missing.
After seeing this error, I've downloaded a couple of different tag editors and made sure every single field (i.e. genre, artist, etc.) was filled out properly. Still, the problem remains: no mp3 player on the Hero detects these mp3 files.
Anyone run into this problem before and know the fix?
Thanks!
Problem solved. The way windows media player synced the files was not good. I replaced them manually in a different folder and, presto.
Mods, you can close or delete this.

ICS music player with file browser oddity

hello everyone!
I recently got the transformer prime (upgraded to ICS) and I have noticed that when trying to play an audio file with the stock music player from a file browser (ive tried both the stock Asus one and file manager HD) an oddity occurs: rather than playing the song in the background as It normally would, It plays the selected audio file as a sort of preview and will stop playing as soon as there is any input anywhere else on the screen. This includes files that are both inside and outside of the music folder.
This is annoying for me because I like to keep lecture files (im a student) in a separate file with all my notes. Poweramp (my primary music player) works very well with the file manager but it lacks one feature I find very useful: the ability to pause the music via the notification bar, thereby allowing me to have lecture slides open and full control over the audio lecture file without switching windows away from my lecture slides.
Does anyone know any workarounds that disables this "preview" feature in the stock ics music player and simply just plays it, or any other music players/plug ins that would allow the in-notification-music-control feature with another player?
I have not rooted my device. Stock Asus version of ICS.
thanks!
Have you tried playing them through the app? They would probably show up under unknown artist if they're recognized as music files. But unless someone edits the .apk to remove that feature, you'll need to find another way around it. I remember vanilla Gingerbread did this too, so it isn't new to ICS. (Might have been a feature before, but I never noticed on Froyo and ran Sense before that) As far as other players, I believe that's the only app to have the notification controls so far. I do know that ES File Explorer has a built-in music player, but I don't know much about it.

Converted mp3's not being recognized by music players.

Hey guys, I have a couple of audio books that I've converted from mp4's to mp3's. I've tried 3 different music players including google music, power amp and one other I forget and none of them will find these files for their library. I can use a file browser to open them with power amp but it treats it as a sound clip and won't save the progress or remember the file is there after I close it. Is there a file size limit that these programs look for? The audiobook mp3's are broken up into 4 hour segments so could that be it? Any advice on how to fix the problem? Im not an expert with audio programs and don't know how to brake things up into smaller files.
Oh and I'm on Resurrection Remix AKOP rom ... but this has happened with every Rom I'm been on since I got my phone.
I answered my own questioned and downloaded akimbo audiobook player from the play store.
