Got this case off of EBay delivered for $32. It's called a PEPKOO ULTIMATE. I think Love Me and possibly another company makes some almost identical. They are aluminum with Gorilla glass screen protector, screws together instead of snaps like an Otterbox and doesn't get all the dirt and trash around the sides of the screen. I've been using mine for a month now and thought I would share my review of it. It's tough, cool looking and I have no complaints. Don't forget it was $32.
uhm, good!
From the reviews I have seen, the S-Pen is Damn near impossible to take out, and the sound is horribly muffled.

You could have gotten it cheaper too on Ebay. It's the same case as the Love MEI series. Those are $23 on ebay.
Also your cell reception just took a dive by half because of the aluminum. I only use mine when I go snowboarding. The extra weight adds to my balance, lol.
I saw after I ordered it about the s-pen complaints and I don't have any trouble. I'm always somewhere the signal is great so that hadn't been an issue. I would have loved the even cheaper priced one but compared to an otterbox, This case is king. I've had an otterbox for every phone I've had in the last 6 years, starting with a blackberry and had to constantly take it apart and clean dirt and dust out of it. I never have to do that with this one. I stand firm and recommend this case or an identical copy over otterbox any day. If I paid $ 40 I would still be satisfied.

Yeah I definitely recommend it to anyone who can put up with those things. I like the comments I get when I whip it out(no pun intended). People always ask in amazement if it's a phone and what phone it is. Then again I have the original model so it's even bigger than the new slimmer ones which I might get soon.

I just have a question, where exactly did you see this for so cheap? The only link I can find on Amazon is for $69:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00HFMUVG4/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
I got it off of eBay. I work in the oilfields of West Texas and we have some rough weather, especially dust storms. With the otterbox I was having to take it apart every couple of days to clean the dirt and dust that would make its way inside it. Then the abrasive dust rubbing against the plastic screen protector would have it scratched up in a mater of a month or so. I haven't had to take this case apart yet to clean it and that dust isn't going to hurt the Gorilla glass. I put a couple screen shots of the add on eBay so you could see the seller and the product.
It's awesome

Nice yeah like It .
I'm sure it's a great case if your going to throw it down a mountain, but in my opinion it's way too bulky.
Bulk
If bulk is an issue, then I would suggest an Iphone, I think they still small enough to fit in a matchbox. But all jokes aside, it still easily fits in my back pocket and as I stated before, I need my phone protected from the elements. I never said this case would suit everyone but if you wanted a case that was built for hard core protection, I recommend this one. I have now had it for two months and I hope I can always get one to fit future phones.
How heavy is this? Do you have issues with sound? Have you waterproof tesed the case and how did it do?
Same here,
If a case makes my devices useless, well then it's useless. I can see the draw to a waterproof solution as I hit the lake often during the summer months and don't do much out there other than check things on the screen from time to time. But for that there are cheaper solutions, none of which I trust completely anyhow.
Lets hope that they up the IP rating on the note 4.

LoL this in is not the waterproof version. Its the water resistant version. Love Mei adds some water proofing in there. There is a difference this one, Lunatak's and Love Mei's. I think they all have the same base manufacture. My Dad has the Lunatak's case for the iphone, his signal doesnt take a hit, also it makes the phone feel like a brick. AND I really mean a brick.
You guys want real waterproof head over to the red pepper note 3 thread.

I had purchased a similar metal case for my Note 3 from Love Mei. It looks cool but I dont like it.
1. I made my phone to look big, almost the size of Tab 7.0.
2. Its non ergonomic for long time use, you'll not be comfortable holding it while text messaging.
3. Not to forget that it adds weight extreme weight to your phone. Trust me, you can't answer calls for more than 20 minutes due to its weight.
4. Since its a water proof version, the sound ports and receiver speakers are covered with thin membrane of some material (sort of rubber or plastic). Thats make the sound to be scatered and unclear
5. The glass protector will have the rainbow effect on screen when it touches the phone screen.
These points are based from my experience. I sold my case to another guy.
Currently Im with Trident Kraken AMS, and I love it to the max. It saved my phone without single scratches falling from the height arnd 6 feet.

Hey guys
I have ordered a Ballistic phone case for my Galaxy S II. At first I was like this case is gonna suck. I work as a bouncer in a night club on the weekends and needed something that was gonna work and they were all out of the otterbox at the store I went too.
All I have to say is the case is amazing. After dropping it a few times and getting roughed up at the club the phone has survived without a scratch. I would recommend this case if you wanna check something out if otterbox is out of stock.

I got a red and black one for my work phone. Don't really care about ugly but wanted to protect it. One thing I've been looking for is a case with a lanyard attachment of some kind. I ended up using a hot needle to poke all the way through both the red and black and fished regular lanyard type nylon through, attached that to a small clip that is between the phone and black. Voila!
Sure I may look like a dork with this hanging from my neck but I haven't lost, dropped or forgot my phone yet since.
Got mine yesterday and I love it. I often don't remember to pull it out of my cargo pocket before putting on my bunker gear. While I'm not worried about it getting wet because of the gear, I thought the phone looked quite a bit flimsy. Now, I don't worry about it. The screen stays next to my hip, and the shell protects the phone from flex.
+1 from me

Got mine in Black. I Love this case! Great protection (as good as otterbox)
The thing I like the most is the feel it gives the phone in my hand. Without the case, the phone feels too small and fragile.
Looks intense. I'm sure that's just as effective as any otterbox lol.
Is it bulky like the otter cases? That my biggest issue but the protection is what really matters..

Had an otterbox on my captivate, the defender series, have the ballistic on my sg2. The protection is, if anything, better than the otterbox, but it is nearly as bulky.

I had one of these (both models) for my infuse. It's actually a funny story. On my drive from San Diego to Montgomery we (my wife and I) stopped in Lubbock, TX. We (meaning she) decided new phones were necessary. I found 2 brand new in box infuses on craigslist and bought them (it was quite a feat to get to town late at night, find a hotel, get internet, get on craigslist, find 2 of the same phone, go buy them, go buy dinner, sleep for a couple hours, get back up, and drive to Alabama). Anyways, both were brand new and came with a ballistic case.
Yeah yeah, off topic but I had to tell somebody.
On topic, I like the ballistic case. It sure provides good protection. I'd like to try the trident aegis sometime though.
I just got one 2 weeks ago and it's a great fit, got the black/red.

I received one of these cases when I purchased my Galaxy S II about three weeks ago, and thought I'd do a quick review.
The case is definitely bulkier than the phone. I've found that to be a good thing overall, as it makes it easier to grip and makes the whole thing feel more solid.
The rubber is definitely high-quality. I've dropped my phone a couple of times, and it's been as happy as a lark. No complaints there. The corners are rounded outward and act as bumpers.
In addition, I used the rubber as a spot to grip the phone with my teeth when my hands were full trying to unlock my door earlier.
The holes for the camera, headphones etc are plenty large.
The button covers for the power/lock and volume buttons extend out quite a bit, which makes them easy to find and use. I haven't had too much of a problem with accidentally bumping them, even in my pocket where I routinely turn on any flashlight I happen to be carrying.
I have the Ballistic case and the otterbox commuter case, I find the commuter case to be the better one, looks much better, feels better in the hand, and looks like it should provide enough protection for my phone
Best case out there for I777, although a bit to big lol it's great protection for our phones.

So I'm looking at the flip case made by Samsung and noticed the back cover is substantially thicker than the one that comes on the phone. It also looks like you could snip off the flap that covers the screen. I know, kinda defeats the purpose but at very minimum, you'll have better protection on the back....
Anyone actually like this case as is? I find it cumbersome for most situations and only see its value for covering the face while in a pocket. I'm thinking to chop the front off and use it just for the back.
Bring on the OtterBox!
As a side Note, the flip case back is also textured and does provide a grippier feel.

Returning mine
I bought mine at the AT&T store. The back of the case is the best part, it is superior to the provided battery backing supplied with the phone.
I feel like the flip cover can get in the way of certain actions, particularly talking photos. It makes holding the phone feel a little unnatural whether you leave the flip cover open to the side or folded against the back. For those two reasons I've gone back to the standard battery back and will be exchanging it for another case or a refund.

I've noticed the same while using mine, especially while taking pictures. I originally purchased one from at&t but have since returned it due to Best Buy giving me one for purchasing the device from them ( saved me $50). This is definitely a temporary case until new cases become available.

Yep... this.
I like the way the brown one looks ont he white but the front is pretty flimsy and they didn't put too much thought into the overall design. The fact that it replaces the back was a nice thought and helped keep the thickness down opposed to a lot of the journal/folio cases you see on Amazon though.
I'll still probably end up replacing it with one of the aluminum bumpers that looks really nice and offer some more protection.

The edge of the flipcover came apart on me today. it is peeling open. the edges are just heat sealed material around a thin plastic slab. have been using since launch day. i have Best Buy's GSBTP so if i drop it and it breaks, i'll just get another Note - so i am not too worried about the protection factor from drops. i like the idea of the flip cover, however it does get in the way of the camera and can make using the camera awkward.
i think the lines / grooves that show in a zagg shield would bug me...
hopefully i will find something i like...

Ok, I worded that really weird. When I work out, it's unavoidable to sweat, so using my Infuse, I would always have to wipe it down after I talked on it. Yeah, it sucked. But I would rather wipe it off of this, than my screen.
Is this the same one???
I got it for $9 and it protects the corners of the Note. Little flimsy but I thought it was worth the cost and am still using it after 4 days.

I finally talked a co-worker into buying a real phone, he went all out and got a Note 3. He ordered a blue Otterbox Defender and I cringed because I had read more than a few negative comments about it, never mind the fact that it was going to turn an already monstrous phone into something comical in girth and usability.
Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. I was downright shocked at how svelte the case was, and it is awesome in every way that counts. It looks good, it feels good, the buttons work perfectly, and it is some nice soft protection on the corners. I was dropping it onto a table onto a corner from about six inches up and it was just a very nice 'boing' when it hit (my co-worker did not share my enthusiasm for this part of the testing). Probably the most amazing thing of all is that it really feels good to use the screen. Yes, if you scrutinize you could see a faint rainbow effect under the wrong lights (like a lot of florescents), but it felt great. The screen cover on my iphone 4 otterbox was a joke, it ruined the feeling of the phone.
I don't even run with a case (I use Gelaskins, which are even more ridiculously slippery than my Note 2 already is), but if I jump ship to a Note 3 I would buy an Otterbox Defender in a heartbeat. I was downright amazed at how good it felt and looked.

I'm on Verizon and I pay $9.99/month with a $100 deductible that covers virtually everything...malfunction/defect, damage, loss, or theft. I've been a Verizon customer for 12+ years now. Never have had any real issues with them concerning insurance claims, etc. We've had to file a few different claims over all these years and haven't really had any problems out of the whole "process" thus far. I remain satisfied and content, even if Verizon IS one of the last carriers to push out official OTA updates. Oh well, there's more to choosing a carrier than just how fast they get OTA updates to their customers. Yea, it's probably nice to get em a lot quicker like some other carriers are able to do, but I'm usually not too concerned about all that, so I'm still a happy camper either way.

Very happy with the purchase. It has probably saved my phone a couple of times due to dropping.

No dust covers and silly Transformers reliefs on the back that will interfere with an Aidock (and even with putting a magnetic sticker there for the airdock to adhere).
Nope : I'll pass.

The airdock is a wireless charging dock (essentially, for cars) : you lay your phone on a micro suction foam (below which is the QI coil), and it adheres to it. If your phone case is a bit rugous, the foam will not work as well, but you can just use a smooth magnetic adhesive (supplied with the dock) which'll work fine....
... provided you can lay it flat on the rear face of your case. And with such shapes on Urban Armor Gears cases, it will be a problem...

Yeah, but we don't know yet wether there'll be enough metal in the right place inside the Nexus 6, so to do without a magnetic sticker ; and said sticker won't do with the back of such a case as the Urban Armor Gear one.
The Airdock also has a suction foam which makes magnets redundant (or at least, adhere better, which is always good in the car), but it requires glossy and (rather) flat plastic at the back of the case, which is another problem with this one...
Well... we'll see what comes out as accessories. I now hope Otterbox indeed really is considering a case, as neither Trident nor Ballistic seem interested, and as Spigen won't do a case with dust covers. So a Commuter is among my last hopes, so I can buy the Nexus 6... If I can't have a somewhat rugged case (without going to the last extremities), I'll have to pass on this phone, even though I'd really like to get it.
Was always interested in UAG cases. Will probably cop one for times when I'm doing an activity that may require a heavier duty case for extra safety measures.

Thanks for linking it. I never had a UAG case before so I couldn't tell you. 40 bucks is quite steep for what amounts to a piece of plastic in my opinion. I'm thinking more of a flipcase or something with a kickstand since the phone is so large. The fact that the volume and power buttons are on the same side would suggest that they intend for it to be more of a media consumption device as well.

I have this case on my iPhone and its boss!!! Will probably end up getting it for the n6 too

It is a bit pricey. I'm worried about the curvature of the back and those indentations. Almost wouldn't feel comfortable I'd imagine.
Seems like it might be awkward.

Hope they come in more colors. Never really liked the "crystal" version.

My Seidio CONVERT Case for the Nexus 4 was $50 when it was released and to this day I never had any damage happen to my phone (hell even the glass back has not been damaged at all if you can believe it!).
Fact is that when you are paying up a premium, you are paying for top notch protection. My Nexus 4 never was graced with the attention of Otterbox or UAG (hell I wish it was) but considering the attention and love the Nexus 6 is getting from Case Manufactures it is good luck for all of us on the options out there for us now!
I personally cannot wait for this case. I just hope they get it out there soon!
I'd like to see one in that olive green color they make.

My problem with the UAG for my S4 was that the high lip on the front, even with a tempered glass screen protector, interfered with swiping from the side gesture for opening the navigation drawer. The N6 is supposed to have a nice edge on the side, and I am afraid of ruining it.
For those of you wanting other colors: I just e-mailed their support and asked if they had any plans for different styles/colors. The response was a negative
Shame really, the Scout style looks really nice.
Got an N6 on the way, looking for a flip case that can easily be removed. I'd like to be able to clip the phone into the case when I'm out and about, but remove it when I'm at home or at the office. Anyone have a case like this? I've done some looking but it seems like most of them are TPU cases attached to the flip cover. For my other phone I found one that clipped around the edges in only a couple of spots. I'm hoping to find something similar or at least one that can stand up to the abuse of many in/out cycles.
Might give this one a shot. It's a bit bigger than some other cases but it feels pretty nice. I will warn you though, while not a huge issue, the edges on the flip cover started to look a little frayed after a few weeks. Probably just wear and tear though.

Do you experience any of the button issues that the amazon reviewers had?

Not particularly, no. I will say they are not the best though. Theres a little bit of play to them. If you can get it cheaper than the 30-some odd dollars they charge, I'd go for it. Personally I usually carry my nexus 6 w/o a case just due to how nice it feels, although if you find a thinner, rubberized flip case let me know.
All in all, I'd give the casemate a shot. Does the job just fine.
I know you might have your reasons for wanting a flip case, but because I wanted to do the same as you (protection when out and about but naked when at home) I went with a really nice larger pouch case instead.

Thanks for the help guys. I considered the case-mate, especially since it was originally sold on Google play so it's close to "official"/oem but the multitude of bad reviews scared me off. I like the pouch idea too but I like to have some protection when I'm using the phone on the go since that's the most likely time I'd drop it. I only remove the case when I'm home or at the office since I'll be at the table/couch/desk there's less risk of dropping it and I prefer using the phone naked as much as possible.
I ended up finding one of these in eBay for 25 and it seems to work well, although it isn't as easy to remove as the flip case for my last phone. I haven't used the card slots yet as I'm a little concerned they could scratch the screen and I don't want to use a screen protector.

I've been using this inexpensive but very form-fitting case since I bought the n6. Easy to slip it out of the case, and I've used nillkin book-type cases for multiple phones. They usually last the life the phone (for me, that's about 2 years)

This is the one I use, and definitely have enjoyed it. I haven't had any problem with cards scratching the screen yet.
If you're still looking for a wallet themed case, you can try out this one by VENA, I have had it for 2 months and it's been great.

I like my phones naked or as close as it comes (ultra thin transparent tpu case), but I also like to have something to put it in when out and about. My Nexus 5 was kept in a Mofi Kangaroo pouch case which was great. Unfortunately, they seemed to have stopped making them and only ever made them just about big enough for the N5. There are similar alternatives but none seem as good as the Mofi.
So, finding a removable pouch type case big enough for this beast is a challenge! I ordered a hand made fabric one from etsy which is well made, but at the size of the device, looks more like a small sleeping bag than the home of a sleek Nexus device .
So I took a bit of a gamble and ordered something not designed for the Nexus 6. Its primary advertising is for the Iphone 6+, but also states is suitable for Note 4. Looking at both devices dimensions, I concluded it was almost big enough. The Nexus being little longer, thicker and wider than both devices, but not much.
It seems to have paid off. Its a very nice luxurious pouch wallet case in genuine brown leather from what I gather is a brand owned by tuffluv. You can't tell from the site, but the phone pouch part on the side, top and bottom is elasticated so happily accommodates the Nexus's superior girth!
I can even squeeze it in with tpu case - just, but its a bit tough to pull out. Might have to seek an ultra thin tpu case - any recommendations? Without the TPU, its next to perfect! Fully loaded with cards in the card slots makes it slightly tighter to close fully, but still very acceptable in my book.
Currently its in the sale on Tuffluv site where its claimed to be a £50 case (and going by the other similar cases going for in excess of £50, I believe them!). With the sale price and discount it came to £17.99 delivered.
Just thought I'd share in case anyone else was looking for something similar but hadn't found anything labelled as suitable for the Nexus 6.
Can't paste a link but go to tuff-luv dot coms site and search for "Alston Craig Vintage Genuine Leather Wallet Case Cover Pouch for Apple iPhone 6 Plus / 6s Plus / Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - Brown"
Alston Craig have their own site, but there is a discount code for a couple of quid off on tuff-luv
Hope this helps someone.
Oh, ps, there is a small slip of paper in the packaging that states you should have a screen protector fitted to protect the screen before use. Its material lined; not the soft microfibre type, but not something I would be concerned about.
pps. Only issue I've found is the elastic straps are centred, so covers headphone and usb port. Shame, not a deal breaker for me.
