unbranded? - Nokia Lumia 920

Back in the old days I used to have Orange SPV and O2 XDA phones. I hated the carrier branding. So I then started to buy the unbranded, international phones.
Do the Lumia 920 and 925 have carrier branding on them? I see on eBay that some are locked to a carrier and some are unlocked.
Do carrier locked phones have carrier branded firmware?
Do carrier locked phones have branding on the case?
If they don't have branding on the case, can carrier branded phones be flashed to the generic Windows Mobile and allow any sim?
Thanks

My 920 was originally locked to EE and didn't have any carrier branding, no logos, no carrier apps. The only thing you could see was in the "about" screen where it said the carrier was EE.
I've seen Vodafone 920's on ebay that have a Vodafone boot screen.

Thank you!
On ebay, there seems to be more carrier lumias than unlocked... Ill have to hang on the right one.
There seems to be a gap in the market for a mobile phone swapshop! My gs4 mini is worth about £200 and so is a Lumia 925. But I have to sell one and buy another

[Q] Flash from Vodafone UK to Telstra

Just wondering if there are any guides out there that I can use to flash my new Vodafone UK branded Lumia 920 to either Telstra or unbranded?
I am with Telstra and the phone correctly supports the 3G and LTE network, but I just want to change it from Vodafone branding
.
Is it the same process as flashing a Lumia 800? Using Nokia CareSuite and if so can someone please post the links to all the software needed?
I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have a Lumia 920? The reason I ask is because a Vodafone UK variant of the 920 doesn't actually exist. The only networks that are selling the 920 in the UK are EE, Orange and T-Mobile.
I'll vouch for it being a 920. I saw the Vodafone Lumia 920 red models on Mobicity a few days ago. I imagine that's what this person got.

Mobicity only sell unlocked and unbranded phones. They don't sell network branded phones or act as a middleman selling contracts for the networks. They 920 they are selling is a SIM free unbranded one for £599.95. As it is at the moment the only networks allowed to sell the 920 in the UK are EE, T-Mobile and Orange.

[Q] Giving Up

All i want is to go to a website, buy a Nokia 920, pop in my sim and use the phone.
i have gotten so confused and frustrated trying to figure out which one will work on the Bell network with the proper LTE frequencies....arrgggg
does anyone know where i can go and buy a RED 920 unlocked that suppose the correct BELL frequencies.
please help before i go buy a HTC 8X or worse yet an Iphone
Well hope you don't give up to easy. According to the wiki page for Bell Mobility they use 850 and 1900 MHZ. Just google "wiki bell mobility" I didn't think there is much variation between Nokia Lumia 920s but I guess there is when it comes to LTE ability.

thanks for the reply, i had a look at the site, they have the 920 LTE locked and 920 OEM unlocked. i would like the 920 oem unlocked version, but i am so confused about frequencies needed for Bell and the LTE to work
do i have to buy a rogers phone and unlock it to get LTE, and if i do that it says on that site that mobile hotspot won't work.
what the heck was nokia thinking with the rogers and att exclusivity deals.

there is even a way to check via the Bell website if the device is LTE compatible, but you need the IMEI from the phone. good luck getting that without buying the phone first

[Q] When should I expect updates?

Hello! I got a new Lumia 920 (Vodaphone branded ROM, though the phone itself doesn't have any branding, "Manufacturer Model Name" listed as RM-821_eu_euro2_268, and running on an AT&T gophone SIM card, dev unlocked), and was wondering when I should expect to see updates. I've seen news sites talking about the release of updates like Portico on AT&T, Vodaphone, etc., but I'm not sure if I should follow the updates for Vodaphone 920s (since that's the ROM it's running on), AT&T 920s (since that's my carrier), or unlocked 920s. Any chance one of you could help clear this up for me? Thanks!

Unlock NL 920 EE uk T-mobile Phone

Hello,
I want to unlock my 920. Anyone in the UK know where to do this in the UK or how to do it myself?
Provider cant do it for some reason so I have to look for it myself

Can an IUSACELL (AT&T Mexico) u20a be used on AT&T in the US without unlockingock?

Can an IUSACELL (AT&T Mexico) u20a be used on AT&T in the US without unlockingock?
I recently bought a lot of 5 X10 Mini Pros on ebay. I only needed one of them, so now I want to sell the rest of them. The thing is they are carrier locked to IUSACELL, a Mexican carrier who was bought out by AT&T to become part of AT&T Mexico. My question is can these phones be activated on AT&T in the US without having to unlock them? Thanks in advance.
Anybody?

Probably not, you will have to ask the original carrier for the sim-unlock codes using the phone's IMEI-codes... Since the phones are so old they should give you the unlock-codes for free. After unlocking them (inserting a sim from another carrier and entering the code) they should function on any other carrier.
