PLZ SUGGEST ME TO GO BACK TO GB OR ANY FIX TO STOP ALL RANDOM REBOOTS.
In order to downgrade you need to S-OFF, then flash one of the old RUU's.
Did you factory reset after installing the ICS?
I would also try installing the new 4.3.605.2 RUU from Android Police... factory default, flash twice (if you flash an RUU, ALWAYS do it twice), then factory default again.

+1 I would try the factory reset before anything. then follow the steps above.
if you are 100% sure you want to go back to GB then you would need s-off
you need s-off to go back to gingerbread. try flashing the new 4.3.605.2
Thnx for all replies can someone confirm Ruu 4.3.605.2 is stable and working fine ?

It is completely stable, and fixes way more issues than the changelog mentions...
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
And select AP Mirror #1 which is hosted on beta.androidfilehost.com, a very reliable and (usually) speedy server, it takes about 3 minutes for me to download it ( I have done it lots of times, people keep saying doesn't work), just click the link, then the green circle with a down arrow to download it (to the left of the filename), MD5 matches every time. If that one give you trouble, go to the same link and on the right hand side there are mirrors of that server, they work equally well.
And like every ROM, VERIFY the MD5 before flashing... if it don't match, don't flash!
It looks like your RUU didn't install completely. Flash it *several* times, until you get the screen where all items are listen as "OK" and it says to reboot.
If that still doesn't work, try flashing it through fastboot:
install HTC Sync (this will install drivers for adb and bootloader debug). Somehow obtain fastboot.exe (pretty sure it comes with HTC Sync. If not, download the Rezound All In One Toolkit. Open a command prompt and change the directory to the same one that fastboot.exe is in (use the command "cd" then the full folder location, ex "cd c:\users\yourname\desktop\fastboot folder").
Next, you'll want to take out your phone's SD card. Power on the phone, holding power and volume down to boot into the bootloader. Then, choose fastboot. Connect your phone to your PC at this time. Now use the command "fastboot oem rebootRUU". Your phone will reboot to a black screen with a silver HTC logo. Next, drag the RUU file you downloaded (doesn't matter what it's named) to the same folder as fastboot.exe. Use the command "fastboot flash zip <ruu name>", replacing "<ruu name>" with the name of the file, obviously. Once the command prompt says it's done, you can safely turn off your phone, or do a battery pull if necessary.
I highly recommend you do not revert to Gingerbread, because it requires a firmware downgrade and the S-Off procedure is necessary. Things can go horribly wrong with S-off especially if you don't know what you're doing.

Without S-OFF you can only go same version or newer, not backwards, but you will have to relock your bootloader... You should then be able to flash the 4.3.605.2 RUU with no problem.

Also, make sure you allow it to fully do its thing, don't pull battery or anything in the middle of it. The screen will go black for a second or two, just wait it out. It will leave you in bootloader when it's done iirc.
so i went to switch out my battery and when i turned the phone back on it vibrated and displayed the white htc screen, then went black for a second and then stays on the white htc screen forever! Im a total noob when it comes to all the technical stuff about RUU's Kernels Roms and whatnot. I can get to bootloader, but i tried to do factory reset and it showed a green circle with a loading bar but then it changed into a red triangle with an exclamation. I tried flashing amon ra recovery but it doesnt work, although TWRP works. While in TWRP though, whenever i try to flash a zip file, it fails and says something like E:failed to mount /cache E:failed to mount /system E:failed to mount /data. Please help me i need this phone working to help me at my job. If someone can walk me through what i need to do i would REALLLYYYY appreciate it. Like i said though, i am a noob so i need realy stupified instructions lol. Thanks

First you should go to shipped-roms.com and download the vigor ics ruu.exe, the rezound downloads there are under vigor . Plug your phone into your computer and from hboot highlight fastboot press power and run the .exe file from your computer and follow the on screen instructions, this will return your phone to full stock ics. Make sure you download the vigor ics ruu.exe as the GB ruu will not work with s-on.
You can also download this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/ it's the latest ruu it'll update your hboot, stock recovery, rom, and radios, to latest stock. Just download, rename the zip file to PH98IMG (don't include .zip it is a zip file it'll add it on its own in hboot) put it on your sd card, not in a folder just on. Put it back in your phone and boot to bootloader and runn the update, when it powers off. Run it again. (As it has to update the hboot to 2.27 first)Then you'll be on the stock latest. Then root and Rom from there. Of you need help pm me for my gtalk and I could walk you thru it..

Same exact problem. Installing zip now, god i hope this works!!
So my screen is the exact same, i tried to flash a kernal for not only wrong phone but wrong carrier too. Anyways no OS, when i try to flash either of the ways you have explained they both dont work. When i put it on the sd card as PH98IMG it looks like it loads it in the upper right then thats it. regular bootload screen after that nothing happens. try to load it by opening the application after im plugged in as fasboot usb and the program says Install script setup launcher has stopped working. I have been able to flash liquids rom and looks as if it is booting but waited 24 min and nothing happpend just stayed on boot screen. So im just trying to get back to RUU then work from there.

I ended up flashing liquidsmooth rom in recovery then had to wipe factory data reset, then i could wipe dalvick cache then when i rebooted it actually booted the rom and I LOVE IT. Still having some issues tho.
Still cant get my computer to talk to my phone when in fastboot usb i cant get any devices when i do "adb devices" cmd.
It says devices listed below but no devices.
Also im still stuck on TWRP 2.2 and I cant my 2.6 to flash in recovery. - Still troubleshooting this and might get it in a bit.
Thanks for the suggestions!!!

ooooh older stuff ick lol...do you have your htc sync drivers installed....what os are you on? are you s-on? what hboot you on? you need to be wiping before rom install and not after....are your issues pertaining to random reboots?

Yes i did reinstall my HTC Sync drivers, I have been wipining factory reset, cache, system, dalvick cache before i flash a new rom. I am S-On. Havent really determined a reason to go s-off yet, i am messing up my phone good enough with this let alone a paperclip. no problem with random reboots. I finally decided to go to a custom rom bc i was sick of my phone rebooting for OTA updates then being late for work. So the 3 roms i have now tried are Liquid smooth which i liked but i couldnt get mms messages to show up on phone. Also it wouldnt change from silent to a beep for text message notifications. i could select it but it would stay as silent. So.... I flashed ViperRezROm which i just didnt like the look and theme. So i finally flashed Cyanogen ROM and come to find out its the same kernal as Liquid smooth so it looks the same and I like that but I still cant change the notification from silent to a beep for text messages. So i never know when i get a text.
Still working on trying to flash a newer version of TWRP.
Then this time flashing I tried to titanium backup and went to load my backup and it cant find it.... WTF
UGH... Learning so much with this stuff. just taking alot of patience.
Thanks again for yalls support, I love this forum.
Mike
BTW just to note...if your bootloader is locked fastboot flash methods will not work 90 percent of the time...if you flashed liquid 3.0 that's more than likely your problem with mms as that is a beta...but on more recent 4.3 builds mms is fixed...and no its not the same kernel...just similar source code...liquid 2.9 does not have this mms issue...any random reboots on 4.2 are caused by min frequency not set right at 384 mhz and using amon ra to flash or not doing a proper clean flash....I do recommend s-off as it will make life much easier for you for modding things or flashing custom zips and for future flashing back to full stock if needed as its not possible while s-on...you can always pm me for help as I've yet to run into an error I can't fix unless posted in op caused by source

There is a few good reasons to S-Off.
1.No need to fastboot flash kernels
2.can RUU if needed
3.can flash recovery updates (cwm, twrp) as ph98img zips
4. Can keep bootloader ***locked***
5. No more ***tampered*** tag after you RUU
Scenario: you are out and about (or a computer isn't handy) somehow you are in an infinite bootloop. You nandroid restore. But it is something on boot partition. Only way to fix this while S-On is fastboot flashing a boot.img, but if you were S-Off, you would have restored the boot image from the nandroid.
Edit: added 5th reason

I finally went S-OFF to help another user get step by step to restore to fully locked and stock ruu. I decided to leave it S-OFF. It's so nice to be able to just load a rom and not have to do anything else (other than wiping). It makes changing/upgrading rom's a breeze.
I highly recommend it. It seems scary, but once you have done it once, you will not go back.
But be warned, never go back to S-ON on a non-HTC hboot... you will hard brick your device. That is the only real threat I've heard about... if you never go back to S-ON, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Just about any error can be fixed except for going s-on on a non-ruu hboot.
Thanks

you were dead on accurate regarding my problem. Your post helped me revive an all but dead rezound!! Thanks man!!
I bought my friend's used HTC Rezound he was selling to me for 15 bucks. He said he "broke" it by flashing a bad ROM, and he doesn't feel like fixing it because he already replaced it with an LG G2. I figured for that price, fixing it was worth a shot. Besides, I'm coming from a Rugby Smart, and by the looks of it, this phone is a LOT better specs wise! Anyway, I can't seem to figure out how to fix it...
So when the phone is powered on, it goes to the HTC white splash and freezes there. The only way to get it off is pulling the battery. I CAN however, boot into the HBOOT menu, go to recovery, and all that stuff. So I guess what I'm trying to do is restore this to 100% stock at this point. Apparently in order to do that, I need to make sure my bootloader is locked and "S" is set to on. My "S" is on, however the bootloader is unlocked. Can someone please explain to me how I would go about fixing this phone, in a step-by-step fashion (if possible)? I would normally know what I'm doing, but this is the first HTC phone I've had, and I don't know how to use HBOOT, let alone RUU's and all this other stuff I read about for restoring this phone to stock.
Thanks.
EXCITING UPDATE: I found out how to use fastboot to re lock the bootloader, so that's done now. Also, not sure what i did, but now whenever I try to boot into recovery it gives me a security warning and I can't access it (so now I have no way of flashing ZIP's, unless there's some way of using the fastboot command on a computer to do this). I'm no expert on HTC's, but I'm getting the feeling this recovery issue seals the deal that this phone is not getting fixed, but I guess we'll have to see...
You need to flash a ROM and then MANUALLY flash the boot.img when S-On. Your friend probably didnt flash the boot.img, that is the cause of this issue 9 out 10 times this condition occurs.
What recovery, radios and hboot do you have?

OK, you are on the latest radios & Hboot, but relocked ... So we have a little bit of work to do here. Someone relocked the bootloader with custom recovery installed, not a smart thing to do. The first thing that needs to be done is to unlock the bootloader again. You will need a Windows 7 PC, Linux, or Mac OS X with ADB installed (Win 8/8.1 won't work), then go to HTCdev.com and follow the Unlock Bootloader procedure.

Does this process require me to be in my OS? Because I thought I read something that said I needed to be for this but i might be wrong. Because remember, I can't get into my os because im stuck at the htc white screen
EDIT: Wait, i remember doing something like "fastboot oem lock" which I think locked the phone. Could I just do the same command to unlock it?
ANOTHER EDIT: Bootloader is now unlocked. Ready to proceed.

Ok, last question before we really get into it, what ROM do you want to load? Do you know yet?

I would LIKE a ROM with GSM support, but at this point if that is not possible that's OK with me, I'll take a stock ROM.
How does this one look:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720750
EDIT: Downloading now, about 35-40 mins remain. If possible, can you post the instructions in the meantime so I know what to do when it is done? Thanks!

Actually, most recent ROMs support GSM in Edge in the US... Better than that requires significant tweaking for a multitude of reasons... My suggestion would be Evervolv, Tachyon, or LiquidSmooth, best to stay with a known good ROM until we at least get working.
You should use an updated recovery, down load TWRP 2.6.3.0 extract the img file and place in the same directory as fastboot. Then start fastboot from hboot, connect the phone and once it says FASTBOOT USB type:
fastboot flash recovery (filename).img
Replace (filename) with the img name from the TWRP zip file, this will flash a current recovery.
Now copy the ROM zip to the root of the SD card. Also extract the boot.img file into the fastboot directory on your PC. Reboot into hboot and start recovery, go into Advanced and tick everything but external SD and wipe. Now back out to the main TWRP menu and install ZIP of the ROM.
Once that's done, reboot into bootloader and start fastboot, now type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Once its done, reboot!
If Gapps are requires, once the ROM is up, copy the zip to the SD card, reboot into recovery and install Gapps Zip.
Reboot and your done!

Thanks a lot! I would rather use the GSM rom that I mentioned because its almost done downloading and my connection is slow so downloading another would take forever. I'll keep you posted if anything goes wrong.
Once again, thanks so much for the help
UP-UP-UP-UPDATE!!!!: I found a Cyanogenmod of some sort on the sd card with a separate zip for gsm support so ill use that instead.

Back again, but this question isn't about an issue with installing ROM's, this is aimed at the GSM capabilities and how to "force" the phone to use it.
I put in my Tmobile SIM card, went into settings>mobile networks and changed the network type to Global. However, only about half of the time I turn on my phone the SIM card actually works. Sometimes, it will be working fine, and I reboot my phone, and when it comes up it no longer can find the GSM network. Then, maybe after 2-3 reboots and a battery pull, it works fine again. Other times, when I reboot, the GSM network still works fine when powering up. One time, I saw the GSM working, went to sleep for 5-6 hours, woke up, and it was no longer working. Any method I can use to somehow "force" the phone to use the SIM for Tmobile's GSM (if that's even the issue here)?
By the way, here is the ROM that I used. It advertises the fact that it is BOTH CDMA AND GSM in the title of the topic:

I am not familiar with that setting in CM, but I assume it is like most other ROMs for the Rez and under Settings->Wireless&Networks->More->Mobile Networks there is Preferred Network Type, you should be able to set it to "GSM/WCDMA Only" or go to Phone and dial *#*#4636#*#* (it will either pop up immediately or you might have to press Send) go to Phone Info and Set preferred network type to GSM Auto. I am pretty sure these both do the same thing though.
So when it doesn't work, does it say "NO SIM INSTALLED" or something similar? Does the phone know it's own number in Settings->About Phone->Status? Also, in the same place what signal strength are you getting?

My phone does see that I have a SIM card, because in the APN's it recognizes Tmobile and lists all the different APN's for use with Tmobile. when I type in the string of numbers and characters you mentioned, the first three things it lists are the following:
IMEI: (Don't know if this is OK to give away, so not going to say it, but it does have an IMEI number there)
Phone number: unknown
Current Network: T-Mobile
In the secret menu I even switched it over to GSM only and nothing changed. When I used to use my Rugby, I would get 4-5 bars of 4G signal in my home (not LTE, just plain 4G). So I know that my house is in no way a dead zone for the Tmobile signal. Let me know if you need any other information.
INTERESTING UPDATE: I went online and looked up the APN for Tmobile, and compared to what was on the phone it was slightly different, had to add a proxy server, change to IPV4/V6, and other small stuff. Rebooted, and it works now with EDGE like it did before. I'll keep this forum updated on anything in case my signal goes down again mysteriously.
Hello,
This is an odd request, but I'm in need of some help with this HTC Rezound. A bit of background first. It's not mine. I'm a G2 user (rooted and I know my way around Android hacking). This phone belongs to a friend and despite having it rooted he knows nothing about how he got there or how to fix a problem. Currently it's stuck in a bootloop. He mailed the phone to me (we live 750 miles apart) and he's hoping I might be able to assist. I can get into recovery (I'm assuming it's a custom recovery - looks like ClockworkMod) and my hope was to flash a new ROM but he stupidly neglected to send the phone to me with an SD Card. I'm wondering if there's a way to get a ROM/gapps onto the phone (internal storage) and flash from there. I see there's an option for USB-MS toggle and I've tried playing around in the internal_sd area, and I can get a G: drive to appear when choosing this and connected via USB to my computer, but when I put the ROM/gapps on there I cannot seem to access it for flashing purposes.
Sorry for the long-winded description. But is this a simple solution? Do I just need to get a hold of an SD card and put the files needed on there for flashing? Or is there a way to flash the ROM directly from internal storage?
Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.
Could you post a "fastboot getvar all" ? Without the commas.
Also one thing I would do. Flash twrp 2.6.3.0 Then mount the phone. Push the ROM using a adb push. But first could you post a fastboot getvar all ?

Sorry for my noobness, but I have no idea how to do that with this phone. I know nothing about HTC devices - never owned one before.
No problem at all man, we all start somewhere for every phone company.
Okay, pull the battery out. Put it back in, volume down, power button. It should show up a white screen. With I think like 5 options, I know the first two are: fastboot and recovery. When highlighted over fastboot, press power. Then will bring you to fastboot. It'll say in red letters "FASTBOOT USB" at the top. Plug it into the computer open a cmd prompt where you fastboot/adb also known as platform-tools is. Type fastboot getvar all

It should say something in the bootloader at the top like below:
***unlocked***
Pvt ship s-off (or s-on)
Hboot version # stuff here
Radio version # stuff here
Is it s-off or s-on?
If it's secure flag is still on, you would need to extract the boot.IMG from your ROM zip and do the following command after pushing and flashing the ROM in recovery. After you do flash the ROM, boot back into bootloader and into fastboot and type the following command in PC terminal
Fastboot flash boot boot.img

Yep, pretty much, what I was trying to get him through first was actually pushing a ROM to the phone, also the fastboot getvar all gives almost all info. But true with that, that's probably the MOST important part of rooting and ROMing HTC lol. Although he never stated what rom he has. Trying to get him through some basics of HTC too.

Yeah, just wanted to put that out there in case he found it how to flash a ROM without us, he will see that post to fix his boot loop (if s-on)

Thanks again for the replies everyone. Very helpful. As stated before, this is an odd situation because I know nothing about rooting/ROMs for HTC and this isn't my phone.
Anyway, a bit of where I'm at and some better info regarding the phone's situation. The phone, upon attempting to boot, would just bootloop. I don't remember exactly which ROM was on there as I've since done a factory reset, but needless to say it wasn't working. Also, I happened to track down an SD card from an old phone of mine and I used the USB-MS feature in recovery to put a ROM on there for flashing. Wiped everything as I would any other phone, flashed the ROM (which stated was successful) and upon a reboot the phone just hangs on the white HTC screen. Did a bit of digging and decided to try returning to stock (he doesn't care if this phone is still rooted, just wants it working). Found this link http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/ and followed the instructions exactly. Update seemed to take just fine, but again a reboot just got me stuck on the white HTC screen.
I've yet to hook this up to try the fastboot getvar thing as the computer I'm using didn't have ADB installed and I didn't have the time to do so. In the meantime any additional suggestions?
I'm attaching a pic of the phone in hboot so you can see some info that might be helpful.
The reason the phone froze at the HTC screen is because that phone is s-on...
In HTC world, there is the bootloader lock (the purple thing at the top saying unlocked) and the secure flag.
With the bootloader unlocked, you can flash on virtually any partition (only signed firmware and other technical stuff that is irrelevant in your situation) but when booted in recovery, you cannot flash to the boot partition. (Can only do that when s-off)
To flash the boot partition when unlocked s-on (secure flag on) you need to extract the boot.IMG from the ROM and flash it while in fastboot mode from the hboot.
To RUU (return to complete stock) you also need to flash upwards or same version firmware officially signed by HTC when s-on. If you are s-off then you can downgrade. Also, bootloader needs to be locked again.
TL/DR: flash the boot image following my post above and that ROM you flashed will work.

Thanks for this. I think I get what you're saying, but just for the sake of clarification, one more question regarding this process.
I extract the boot.IMG from my ROM of choice, flash the ROM/gapps as I would on any other device, then go back to fastboot and run the adb commands posted earlier? Correct?

Exactly. Be sure to do exactly that command not
Fastboot boot boot.img
If you forget to say flash boot, it will just temporarily boot that kernel/boot image and not flash it to the device. Then upon reboot you will be back at step one.

Again, thank you. Going to give this a go after my son's t-ball game. I feel like more of a noob than when I rooted my OG Droid years ago.
@Uzephi, @pball52998, thank you to for your assistance. I felt like a total noob working on a phone that wasn't mine. But I've got it up and running again. Flashing them in recovery would be great, if there's a link to download the files. But just to be clear, despite this phone finally booking up there's more I need to do to make it 100% usable?
It is 100% usable, but you will experience less overheats and better battery life with the new firmware. I know the hboot ph98img zip is somewhere in this forum for the updated hboot and radio (for that zip you would just put in root of external SD card and in hboot it will automatically flash)

S Off
Hboot 2.28
Radio 2.23.10.0123r/1.23.10.0124r
also running CleanRom 4.5
Can I just place PH89IMG on sdcard to RUU or am I missing a step? Thank you in advance

Hey all,
I have this HTC EVO 3D that just, refuses to co-operate with me.
Story goes -
Got it on ICS and everything was working fine on it. I looked for updates available and it found a 28MB update that I installed and once the phone rebooted with the update, the camera fails to start and the touch screen just starts going crazy and opening everything, whereas before it fine.
So, I attempted to try and get it back to Gingerbread.
And googled and googled and googled.
Reason why I have opened a new thread is cause it's sort of everything going weird with it.
Of course, trying RUU files and trying to flash RUU in zip failed so on so forth.
I had unlocked the Bootloader and S-ON is on at this point. Also had CWM recovery installed and was able to boot into that.
With this in place, I read up on the wire trick and thought, yeah it seems a bit hard, I'll take it to a phone repair shop, where they had the phone for 2 weeks and told me that it was S-OFF and back to stock.
Since they had it and I got it back, it's now stuck in a boot loop and I can not get into any recovery etc (With the original SD Card in it). Can get to Bootloader and fastboot though.
Spent the last 3 hours with about 20 tabs in Chrome opened on how to exactly go from here and I am stuck.
Got a Linux Laptop here and tried to ControlBear and it comes up with ADB and Fastboot not found (Directory points to it being in tmp..no idea)
TL;DR
HTC Evo 3D (Australian Variant, was running ICS Telstra OEM)
Unlocked Bootloader
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.53.0007
eMMC-boot
Radio - 11.25.3504.16 M
Boot Loops, No Recovery, Fastboot commands work on windows.
So just wondering, where do I go from here. I don't know if the device is completely bricked now or if it can be saved.
(I tried a number of zip files on the SD Card (PG86IMG.zip) and nothing due to having S-ON.
Hoping someone can provide a procedure or point me in the right direction.
As reference, I used this thread mostly before it was taken to the Repair Shop and got stuffed.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Hello my friend, the reason you can't load the pg86img is because you have unlocked bootloader. The fastboot commands could help us a lot, did you follow the controlbear instructions in the correct order? I think there is a way through windows with exe files I don't remember well because I did S-OFF 3years+ before. If you want we can try together some time. If you want for start we can flash 4ext recovery and a custom rom so your phone can boot.

Hi there, I didn't know with having the bootloader unlocked that it would cause any issues, but there you go!
Yeah, if there's a guide to flashing the 4EXT Recovery and a custom rom that would be great!
I have a fair idea of how to do it, but don't want to try anything without having someone of greater knowledge point me in the right direction
Thanks!
Just an update, I did come across a thread to flash 4EXT Recovery onto my Evo 3D.
Put Recovery.img into my platform-tools folder, used the fastboot command, it said sending and OK.
Selected recovery and still boot loops. No idea where to go from here now

Hey there,
That's OK, I don't mind the wait, it's all good!
I can boot into Fastboot, but when I choose recovery/factory reset etc, it shows the HTC Logo and then goes into a bootloop.
As for the ROM, I want to get the original GB ROM for it because when I updated it to the latest ICS that's when the camera and touch started to get weird, whereas beforehand it was fine.
So thinking, if I go back down to GB Stock, that it should be all fine again, but I am not too sure on that one.
Thanks!

So thinking, if I go back down to GB Stock, that it should be all fine again, but I am not too sure on that one.
Thanks!

Well, we have to downgrade the hboot version first. Did you do the wire trick procedure right? You can download a pg86img and flash it first to fix the bootloops. First lock the bootloader. When you finish this report here. I have to sleep it's late here and I work early. I'll send you tomorrow. See you.

Ok, the technician I took the phone to supposedly did the wire trick for S-OFF, but, it's still S-ON.
I have downloaded a lot of stock PG86IMG files before posting on here and none work, they scan when in bootloader and then nothing after that.
But that would be because I haven't locked the bootloader. So in saying this, I lock the bootloader following steps on many forum posts on here, then flash a .zip file that's correct and then it should all work?
I'll wait for your response, thanks!

I do not think that the wire trick procedure was correct because you are still s on. Lock the bootloader and try to load the zip.

Hey, so I tried a P86IMG.zip from this thread here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274635
I couldn't find another one and with that I get an error "Main Version Fail" or "Main Version Check Fail".
I then tried RUU and RUU in zip format.
RUU comes back with wrong bootloader error. (I couldn't find an RUU that matched my radio version so I went with the nearest one)
RUU Zip comes back through fastboot with "remote 43 main version check fail"
Also I tried to do the Wire Trick and got stuck at the "ADB and Fastboot not found" even though the files are there and the phone is connected.
So still a little bit...stuck :\
Also relocked bootloader it just says relocked now.
If you need any other additional info I can send screenshots of what it's at.
Thanks!

Did you try flashing the zip after the locking? You are doing the wire trick procedure on live linux cd?

If you want we can do the procedure together some time. Keep in mind that you have to unlock again. We can search for the windows version too.

Oh that would be extremely helpful, I can use Linux, but prefer my Windows PC as it has all the files and it's just easier.
Thanks so much!

So update -
DK sent me the windows version of ControlBear via PM - thank you.
Have an unlocked bootloader.
I tried ControlBear, and because I can not boot into the OS, I start it at Fastboot USB, it reboots, then says "Connecting to Device", then "Testing ADB connection" then "Press Enter To Exit" and that's it, can't do anything else from there, and it gets stuck in the boot loop that it still has.
Tried again to google for methods for HBOOT 1.53, and am trying some of those methods, but it's not looking good at all.
I haven't even got to the stage where it asks me to do any sort of wire trick.
Also my battery in the EVO 3D has died so am using a battery out of a HTC MyTouch 4G with help from electrical tape :\
So now, any suggestions? I am trying to flash another RUU that's stock for my Radio (Well, it's close enough - RUUs are both 11.25.3504.06, mine is 11.25.3504.16)
EDIT: Tried all RUUs with relocked bootloader and comes back with bootloader error (ERROR 140). So, no idea.
Also it's scanning for PG86DIAG.img files on the SD Card - that's not normal is it.
Do you think we should give up on it, it's probably hard bricked and dead now
I think it's literally hard bricked and no way to bring it back from the dead.
As per my original post, all the details for the phone are there. And it sucks that I can't find a correct RUU for my phone (As it was Telstra AU - latest update of ICS)
AHH I don't know.

First of all you should be unlocked now with 1.53 hboot. Download from here the latest 4ext recovery (4EXT_Recovery_Touch_v1.0.0.6_RC3)
It's in my mega account don't worry about malicious software I downloaded it 5 minutes before doing this post. If you don't have unlocked your bootloader do it with the tokens HTC sent you in your email. Flash this recovery from fastboot (fastboot flash recovery "recoveryname".img). After that remove the battery and re-enter fastboot mode (Vol down+power button) and choose recovery. If you manage to boot into recovery from there tell me to send you a link for a rom to flash. I don't believe its a hard brick.

Hey there, thanks for the help again, unfortunately, still didn't work.
I unlocked the bootloader again. Then tried to flash what you said, it said "writing" then "successful". I pulled the battery and tried to boot into recovery and just loops

Try doing:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery "recovery".img
fastboot format system
fastboot format boot
And if it still doesn't let me send you a boot.img in some minutes to try flashing it.
EDIT: And something last, you can still do the controlbear trick while not in OS, its easy if you wanna try let me know.

Hey all,
I have this HTC EVO 3D that just, refuses to co-operate with me.
