Sorry, not sur if this is the best place to post this but...
In the playstore under "my apps" tab, is there an easier way to clear that list? Haveing to cross out every app is taking me forever.

Long press first app you want to remove and it will be highlighted in grey, then select all the other apps you wish to remove and remove them all at once.

I'm pretty sure I've read about this in other threads, but the apps that I have on my SD card only have the generic Android app icon on the home screen and inside folders on home screen.
I read on Google that you can use an app called Fast Reboot and it would restart Sense, but when I run it, it says it restarted Sense but it didn't...
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem
go to personalize, then change the skin. Make sure you search before you post a new topic. Hope this helps though.
i found a way to fix it ...go to settings ....applications ....manage applications ...htc sense and then force stop the htc sense then press home ...sense will restart and the icons will show ...it worked for me

You know, I knew that would work but for some reason I just assumed that Sense wouldn't have been listed in the app list and just never bothered to actually check..... I feel stupid!
But thank you!

Okay,
Now that we are all unlocked and rooted...does somebody happen to know what is actually safe to remove from the stock programs?
I figured I would ask, maybe it's still too early...but I figured it couldn't hurt
I noticed with the recent update, a bunch of unneeded things were added, but I don't know if they are now attached to something important or not :/
thanks in advance!
and while i'm here, thanks to everyone who got all this stuff working so fast
Dont need to root, open app drawer and press the low right button, then you can remove all apps with a red x on the top right of icon.

Yea...thats how you uninstall some of them, but there's a whole lot (read facebook, timescape components, playstation network, Video Unlimited, etc etc...) that can only be uninstalled via Titanium Backup.
On the X10, some of those things were attached to certain system apps, and if uninstalled would cause some things to stop functioning. On the Xperia S I'm imagining they did the same thing, so that was the whole point of my question.

Apps preinstalled in /system/app folder cannot remove unless you rooted.

Ops, I meant ''what app'' we can remove.
But I think Facebook components can be removed...

I've searched, and I cannot find any app that will automatically clear a specific notification once its been received. I keep receiving a useless notification all the time, and keep having to clear it. I want an app that will automatically clear that notification every time I receive it.
This thread is to see if anyone knows of ANY app that can do this, or
To (petition?) for an that can do this. So, if there isn't an app that can do this, POST HERE THAT YOU WANT ONE

Pent from Tasker, or Crafty Apps told me that there is no app because Android doesn't allow it, presumably for security reasons.
If this is true, this will be a sort of petition for Google to change that and make the option available if desired.

Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

Yes!
i have been looking for this. i don't want my notifications to appear on the screen, but i want to get a vibrate notification, or a sound notification for my notifications for fb messenger, and textfree. i have used tasker for this, and all that i could do was make the status bar expand whenever i unlock my screen. it did not automatically clear it, so it wasn't helpful. i need this!
I have found a way to do this. you have to go to settings -> applications -> and choose the app. from there, uncheck the box for notifications, and you are good to go.

well, there are in my rom. i am running a jellybean rom, but i have seen it in other places too. maybe you should update your android version.

Yep, that's only possible on JellyBean. On other Android versions there isn't way to do it, and I think Google will not add it (because JellyBean already have it, so there is no reason to add it to older versions).

Hello. Got my VZW Galaxy Note 2 on launch day. Really really liking it a lot.
Of course I went through and did the usual "disabling" of apps.
After doing that, I have since realized that the Gallery doesn't have a Photo Editor, not does it have a Video Editor. I was told these needed to be downloaded.
I thought I remembered disabling the Samsung App Store, but for the life of me I can't find it on my device.
I guess I'm looking for the actual name of the app, because maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing?? Or if someone has a link to download the Galaxy Note 2 Photo and Video Editors, that would be great too.
Thanks a lot.

I think I found it. "S Suggest" looks like where the apps are.
And you're right. Usually at the bottom. That's what had me so tripped up. Haha.
Anyways, still can't find the Photo Editor, nor the Movie Editor apps for the Note 2.
Anybody have any ideas/suggestions?

I had the same problem and havnt been able to solve the video one but the photo one I did. Just install the photo editor apk as a sideload app or you can just hold the button on the spen and longpress the screen. It will take a screenshot and let you draw on it.

OK - so I like the "editor" that comes up when you take a screenshot with the S-pen (hold button and long press the screen). How can I use that editor when I am in the gallery and use the "Advanced edit" menu item?
I installed the apk linked to earlier, and now the advanced edit menu gives me a choice of the linked apk and the Paper Artist app. Is the one that happens with the screenshot function an integrated part of the screenshot application??

Its a feature (that mind you doesn't cross platforms) that allows you to simulate writing on the back of your pictures to remember what they were or where they were taken, etc.

So you actually need the photo editor to be able to draw on a pic to like add a wig to someone or a missing tooth etc.. you cant just draw on a pic without the editor?
How do I disable apps?

My experience is this. If I go into the gallery and open up a picture, I can then hit the menu button and I'm greeted with many options. If I choose However, "Draw on Image" only flips over the picture and lets me draw on the back, not what I want to do. If I scroll down and click on "Advanced Edit", I get the option of choosing either "Photo Editor" , or "Paper Artist". If I choose "Photo Editor", I get the popup message that says, " Photo Editor is not installed on the device. Download Photo Editor?" If I choose "Download", nothing happens. I've tried numerous times and the phone does not link me to the play store or any other app store to download Photo Editor. While I know I am able to sideload the apk, most new customers using the phone for the first time are going to be awfully frustrated when they want to do the one thing Samsung is pushing in their Lebron and family commercial here in the U.S. Not good.
When I pull an image up from my gallery and click on menu -> Draw on Image it overlays a watermark and makes it gray. How can I draw on a photo without this ****ty watermark?
The simplest way is to download the photo editor that Verizon excluded from this phone... You can get it in the themes and apps section..
Once you install it... go to your gallery and select a photo... hit menu > advance edit....
You then select photo edit and you can write on photo....
Might want to try first before downloading to see if phone has app....
Hope it helps...
