Problem with Internal Storage - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Is there something I'm missing? I installed the NAB version of this rom and I can't figure out the situation with the internal storage. I did a clean install by wipping and re-formatting the sd card. For some reason the internal storage is unusable. I can't move or download anything to it. I've had android 4.4 on my phone before in the version of CyanogenMod but never had this problem. Are the file systems that different between Touch Wiz and ASOP? When I look in the file system it looks like i have two internal storage drives. One is /sdcard and the other is called emulated/legacy. Is there a way to correct this?

If you mean you can't write to EXTERNAL storage go here.

[Q] turl CM9 v8 and emmc/sdcard

I recently took the the plunge and flashed my first non-stock ROM. Went with turl's CM9 Kang (v8). I noticed that the mounts are different than stock in regards to the internal storage and my external card. I understand that using emmc for internal and sdcard for external is more "proper", but it now appears that every app that wants to write data is writing out to my external card. Presumably because /mnt/sdcard was the internal storage on stock, but now is not. I noticed a setting under Storage->Storage Configuration called 'Use internal storage'. I found some mention of it in the dev thread, but would like to know what this does. Does it simply flip the mounts so that apps will write data to the internal storage? I would have liked to have just my music, videos, documents, etc. on the external and all the app data internal...otherwise that 11GB is pretty much going to waste? And, yes, I could just try changing the setting (currently off) and rebooting, but I'm not really interested in my apps resetting all their external data again. Looking for enlightenment. As always, thanks in advance.

What does this do? You'll have to excuse my hesitation when someone just says" flash this".
If you wanna to use internal memory as primary memory you have to flash this ZIP.
SDcard will be mount as emmc, internal memory will be mount as SDcard (the same like with any Blur rom)

Is there any program to switch that around?
I have programs that can only access sdcard (e.g. for audiobook listening). I need to place my external sdcard somewhere in the sdcard folder to be able to use it.
I have tried to adjust the vold.fstab, but it won't save the file after adjustment.
Hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

[Q] I'm stumped. /sdcard is only 2.8gb instead of 8.0gb. Why? How to fix?

My RAZR MAXX is currently running the stock ROM, rooted with safestrap recovery. I discovered this odd problem when I went to create a ROM image in safestrap and it only showed 1.9gb available internal memory. I formatted the internal memory and even did a full factory reset to see if the problem would change, but no luck. What in the world would cause my /sdcard partition to be so small? How can I resize it to take up all available free space?
Look up the software g-parted. It will help you to see the partitions on the SD card. Windows cant see the Android ( linux ) partitions.

Downloading the live ISO now. Do I connect my phone as a mass storage device or some other way for gparted to see everything?
//edit: This is the INTERNAL "/sdcard" partition, not an external card (/sdcard-ext).
Gparted shows /sdcard as a 2.75gb "unallocated" space. No filesystem that it can detect. /sdcard-ext (my actual card) is there with the right size as fat32. It does not show any other partitions on the device, and no option to make /sdcard any bigger.
Weird. I too am stock and running Project Lense boot. My /sdcard is showing correctly in Root Explorer as about 8 gig with 4.69 used and 3.23 free. 8 gig like it should be.
Does safestrap say 1.9G internal memory or internal storage? Storage is not the same as memory. Too many people use them interchangeably.
Just for ****s and giggles I downloaded a couple of partition info apps from the market. All of them that I downloaded were crap and didn't work. Even paid for one and it FC's. Uninstall click refund!!!

I factory reset and formatted. safestrap said I had ~2800mb of internal memory (/sdcard) available instead of the ~8gb I'm supposed to have. It's the same as it displays in the phone via Settings > Storage, or through gparted.
I know the difference between storage and memory, but the RAZR keeps referring to it as memory.

[Q] External Sd-Card Not Seen

Hello,
I have installed Cyanogenmod version 10.1 on my S2.
The rom looks good. I only have one problem. I can't access my external SD card.
When I go to system, storage I see there the SD, and how much of it is filled, but I can't access it in any way nor any installed sw.
I have a backup that is on my external SD, when I want to do restore, I can't since it will not see the external sd.
Can anyone please help me?

Happened to me on both internal and external cards women first booted. Try booting again, keep the screen alive while your phone boots up. It worked for me

Go inside storage and there u will find the sdcard0 and sdcard1
For me it says sdcard (Internal sdcard), and the extsdcard (external sdcard). But you can find them in the Storage folder.
Happy New Year.
Thank you friends,
I might have not understood you all...when I go to file manager or mybackup-pro, I can't see the external sd card (nor the sw see's it, nor I with the file explorer).
Only when I got to system/storage I see that the device see's it (I can see the storage of the sd and how much is filled).
However, I can't access it, nor my sw installed.
Please let me know how you resolved it?
Thank you,

Ignore the built in file manager and install "File Manager" from Google Play and use that instead.
Same problem here.
Using another file manager will not solve the problem of Apollo crashing if you have music files on that external sd card.
The whole system can not access the card.
In Settings->Storage it say: SD Card -> Available XX GB
But there is no statistics about what is on there.
The whole system is not able to pick anything up from that sd card without having root access.
Why?!
Go to recovery and fix permissions.
Sent from my digital submersible hovercraft.
Thx, but that is not working, dude :/
Seems like Apollo was crashing because of one of my songs on the SD card.
The other situation is still there. No detailed information about the content of the external sd card in settings -> storage.
Maybe it is default behavior?!
Unable to see External SDCard
Via Win 7 PC, using USB, I can see 3 Drives on Motorola Droid Razr 1/Moto Drive 2/Internal Storage 3/External SDCard (32gb) I can see and access all files on any of these drives.
Once disconnected from USB, I go to Storage and CAN see the same above. However, when using any File Manager software, and not connected via USB, I can't even see the EXT. SD Card, and therefore can't access any files on that drive/card.
I recently received official JB pggicial OTA from Moto.
simpleeeeeee!
i too had this problem! galley, and music players were not able to access the data of memory card! i just put back all the data again after formatting the memory card! and it workedddddd... so simple!
hit thanks if i helped:victory::victory:
I had the exact problem. All I did was go into the "General Setting" from Settings, and changed the app from Safe mode to Root Access Mode. Hope this helps.

Even I suffered the same problem in my s2 cm11 kitkat..
What I did was:
Booted into Recovery --> Mount and Storage
Then mount sdcard0 and sdcard1

Why does the gs4 even need an emulated SD card?
The internal storage is short so I bought a 64gb SD. But everything wants to go into the emulated sd even my custom recovery only sees the emulated sd.
Is there a setting anywhere to change this?

What recovery are you using. In CWM Recovery go to Install Zip from SD Card > Choose Zip From External SD Card.

You can change it in TWRP and Goo Manager, too. The only place I saw that you cannot change it is from within ROM Manager, but ROM Manager sucks anyway, lol. And you can change it in Titanium, and you can change it in the TW camera (in fact, the camera asks you when you start it the first time).
I have Dolphin browser installed primarily because it allows you to choose download location. The only app I am stuck on is SkyDrive (I prefer it over Drive and DropBox because it has a very straightforward "just download the damned file" function), but I use FolderMount to get around it. I use FolderMount to relocate my Android Data and OBB files, too. So there is just some things like app setting files, etc. on internal card now for me.

Default storage on Acer Liquid Z630

Hi,
I own an Acer Liquid Z630 that I successfully rooted following this guide. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and installed the SU zip, everything's working perfectly.
But during the process, my phone somehow decided to "switch" internal storage and external SD card, making SD card the default storage. SD card is now labelled as sdcard0 and internal memory as sdcard1, while it should be the opposite, and apps data are now written on the SD card instead of the internal memory.
When I unmount the SD card, internal storage becomes default storage again and is correctly labelled as sdcard0, but as soon as I mount it again, the same problem happens.
I want default storage to always be internal storage, even if the SD card is mounted, like it was before. I don't want my phone to write any file on my SD card, I only want files I put myself to be on my SD card.
I tried factory reset, but it remained the same. I did a little searching and saw a lot of threads with people asking how to make SD card the default storage (in my case, that's the exact opposite), but apparently, on Lollipop there's no way to change default storage. But it did change when I rooted my phone...
I also thought about updating to Marshmallow, as I heard storage is managed differently, but there's no official upgrade by Acer, and I could'nt find any unofficial port for Z630.
This has been bothering me for quite a while now and I don't konw what to do anymore, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Anyone ?

I have an UNROOTED ACER LIQUID Z630 and it does the same.
Its not a matter of it being rooted or not; every time you mount an SD card, memory option nÂș1 for the mobile is SD card.
