Is there detailed information from the Kit Kat build differences?
Specifically for our sprint note3?

Well battery symbol is gray instead of green...for starters.

From ours to other variants of this phone? I am unclear, but I believe most of the differences appear at the modem-level (that which it uses to communicate with Sprint), and the crap-level (that which your carrier believes makes for a uniquely awful user experience).
Aside from these, the international version appears to have a completely different set of dialer & contacts color tables and images, since I've found only one mod (bobcat themes) that successfully themes the dialer (all others make what was already white, just more white). I think those phones come darker out of the box. Seriously, there are at least two themes and one request thread dedicated to obtaining a white themed phone (which just goes to show how deeply personal a user experience can differ from one to the other). Bobcat must have accounted for these differences, since all of the other themes I've tried are pure png files, but don't theme the phone or contacts.
This isn't much of a change log, but in sum, I believe the differences are not more capabilities versus us, but merely that which makes a particular carrier approve it.

so i finally convinced my mom to get an i777 about 2 weeks ago and recently she was having problems with in call audio echoing and asked me to fix it. i switched the kernels around to no avail and decided to set it back to stock and redo everything. this fixed the issue and I was configuring all of the settings that i have in place on my phone to save battery life and what not and then i noticed that unlike my phone, which has custom APNs from AOKP's stock, her APNs seemed to be getting pretty good speeds. i tested this and found that they were getting the average around here of around 1.5 mb/s and wondered why hers did this on stock APNs while i have fought mine since day 1. curious, i tested her MMS messaging which my phone still had not-so-consistent luck with and found that her MMS actually went through instantly. so using her phone as a reference I changed my APNs to match hers and downloaded the i777 uckk6 modem (what she was using) from the CM9 forum by rockratt. to my surprise my MMS went through insanely fast, but my data speeds are dangling at a mere 200-500 kb/s what is the reasoning behind this? how can her phone surpass mine with the same config being less than 20 feet away?! any advice?
Probably more of a hardware than software issue.
I'm a hardware guy and I hate people saying "it's hardware issue".
90% of cases, it's firmware, either not configure correctly, not support features, incorrectly read registers, swapping 32-bit/64-bit registers.
Hardware bugs are usually with either timing or signal integrity, which probably will be fixed before released.
I've never had good luck with that modem could just be my area. Have u tried a bunch of different ones?

if it would just be my area then why would it work on my mom's phone and not mine?

I agree with you, but in this case it sounds like different tolerances in hardware builds.
You're running AOKP, what is she running?

Maybe u misread my post. Reread it. I said MY area. Not YOUR area. What are u using to test the speed dl/ul? Also is her config the exact same as yours as far as apps and settings? Like is this from two fresh compete wipe installs yer comparing?

Not same apps but I didn't have any running in the background and I used both speed test and speak easy

Only way to truly see if its the modem or not is to wipe everything off both phones and install fresh without adding anything. And obviously being on the same modem. Without doing this it'd be really hard to tell what's causing the problem.

I'm updated with the latest ICS leak, not rooted, why in the hell are my colors in my taskbar still gingerbread green?
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
I think it is supposed to be that way.
The colors the OEM's choose don't have to correspond with the Google colors. Most OEM's prioritize maintaining a consistent look and feel over the life of the product to updating the interface with every upgrade. That helps reduce the customer support volume they get. You have to remember, we aren't typical users. The vast majority of Rezound users don't have a clue what Ice Cream Sandwich is or why they want it...they just want their phone to work.
That my friend is what is called htc sense. Have you never seen it before? They could care less what google makes the color or the os.

but mine is blue. :/
I can only send one or two pictures at a time, how can I change that?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
iirc, the number of images you can send in an mms is carrier-specific and I feel like if you were able to remove that limit then you'd cause some compatibility issues with other phones. Not sure though, I'll look around and see what I can find for you man.
I wasn't sure if that was it or if it was specific to the phone/texting app. I appreciate it. Selecting 4 pictures to send and then being told it's too much is very annoying

I know what you mean buddy. I've looked around for an answer but haven't found much. Again if I find something I'll update this thread.

Does any know of an app, something on wanam, or a mod that will let you double tap to turn the screen on? I've looked but haven't found much... Currently on Rooted stock rom. Thanks

Only option appears to be a play store app. The one called Tap Tap app seems like it does the job, but the reviews are less than stellar.
As my E4GT aged and the buttons became less dependable, many of us started using Gravity Screen On, an app I can personally report as highly functional, does the job (differently), yet takes a degree of patience to get it behaving the way you want (can drive you nuts, but get past that, and you may be pleased),

As to natively doing this, I've seen it tied to kernels for HTC phones, the Nexus series (not just the LG variants, but the tablets, even the Galaxy Nexus), but as to the Note 3 specially or an Xposed module, nada that I can find.
Would love to have it. Wouldn't buy a phone without a replaceable battery or am external SD, but that is one cool feature. I hope someone corrects me on this and unearths something.

I'm pretty sure it's tied to the kernel.
Though I've seen it done with the internal knock sensors.
It can be a huge pain to get working reliably.
The screen at the moment has to be on to accept input.
It sounds like a cool idea.
Then reality sets in....
Actually if you could implement this without...
Errant random screen taps waking the phone.
Battery drain from having to keep part of the system up watching and interpreting screen taps.
Hmmm mm

That at least confirms my suspicion. At least you can give Gravity Screen On a whirl. The free version has full functionality, and your battery doesn't take too bad of a hit on the process. Like I said, it's not something you immediately love, but you can get used to it, and does the job well. It just doesn't work the way the swipe to wake or knock to wake features work.

I hadn't seen it actually, that came out of left field. Although when you think about it, probably not a huge shock. Interest in custom ROMs and especially in building them, seems to be waning. People still want root, but don't seem interested in much more these days given the performance improvements of the latest devices.
