Hi, you need to unlock bootloader for your X10 if wanna install higher Version 4.0. Which also means you need to find custom Kernel to flash, to replace your Stock Kernel. Note that Unlocking Bootloader will fully void your Warranty!! Unless you know whatcha doing and ready for it.
I made a link for Pdf Tutorials and linked recommended safe Necessary flashtools, unlocking, identifying tools as well Here
Feel free to visit and if can, hope you can thanks there too as an appreciation It will be great motivation to keep them alive. Thank you  Enjoy visiting and reading them

Just As BordenG member said (+1 thanks too for pasting those URL links ), these are the famous 4.0 ROMs for X10. Of course, you must download necessary ROMs, Kernels and modules for installing smooth and safe ROM. And also Unlocking Bootloader is a MUST-BE-DONE for getting those ROMs work in your X10 Follow developers' instruction carefully alright Hope Helps.
Sincerely,
Whitefang

sow why you ask 2 questions in 1 thread if you can ask it in general chat in Q/A topic

Since Xperia pureness is stock based rom, you need stock based kernel, so any except aosp/cm/aokp kernel should do the work. So yes, suave will work.
Thanks

Hi all, very nice effort and job.
I've some questions please:
I bought Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i, this is my 1st experience with Sony Ericsson mobiles.
Under it's battery, it's written (Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i)
The mobile have Android 2.2.3
1) Is this forum for it?
2) Does it differ Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 from Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i ?
3) Last question please, If this is the right forum, which is the best( ICS ) ROM for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i ?

Soooorry i don't know the suitable forum, hope the supervisor transfers it to the right forum.
BRGRDS
hey deveron3 dont be so rude, just point him into the right direction.
well before some mod closes this thread, i must say there is no fully working ics rom, becasue of some missing sources for camera and fps uncap, but just search the development forum, try FXP ,champion's aokp,or VR's xperia s ICS,the 3 of them are fine for playing around for a while, and maybe for daily use if you dont need camera.
about diferences between a and i a is for american continent, canada ,and south america, i is international and its distributed in europe, and its radio bands.
and ,just ask in q&a for x10
peace.

Hey mohgaza,
I've tried 3 ICS ROM's posted on development forum:
Xperia S ICS <--- using right now
RemICS
AOKP ICS
Three are updating every week to get the improvement of each rom, the most reliable issue or bug is camera (only works with 6mpx)
for 2.3.*, i've tried the following and were very stable:
X10S V9 by Championswimmer
Feralab

ICS link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782771
from above link download
1) Xperia S ICS V4.zip
2) Xperia S add-on pack -5 lite.zip
3) google apps.zip (gapps)
4) ICS- Xperia S home launcher.zip
All of this are available in the above link and you flash them through xrecovery, so read and download... Flash the rom first and reboot.. once you rebooted and phones working come back to xrecovery and flash the remaining zip files... clear dalvik cache and cache partition and restart just to avoid any FC...
above rom runs on FXP132 kernel and im attaching it with this post... unzip it and flash through flashtool...
Xperia X10S link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29106815&postcount=3239
download the file from above link and flash it using flashtool... you need to paste this file in "firmware" sub-folder inside flashtool folder..
@udupa : thank u very much, thank u for the interest and thank u for the detailed replay. :good:
I've asked about the link for the stable 2.3.7 ROM, NOT ICS; since it's not complete yet.
U know, I'm not much interested with camera, I'll try this ROM.
But now, yesterday is the first day i carry Android mobile, i don't know what is root nor flash tool.
I'm watching some videos to learn much about the details and then try to do my 1st custom ROM installation.
I want to ask about look and unlook boot loader, Is it better to unlook the mobile, or work while the mobile loader looked?
many thanks & BRGRDS.

Xperia X10S is very stable and smooth 2.3.x ROM so if u want then use it and there r no issues/problems with any 2.3.x ROMs.... camera doesn't work on ICS ROMs.... so download Xperia X10S and flash it using flashtool..... you can download the flashtool from the following link...
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
OR
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10738287
Install the flashtool first... read the instructions on that forum about how to use flashtool... check the below link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507
Read about it and let me know....
Unlocking the bootloader allows you to flash custom kernels as locked bootloader won't allow that... you can root, unlock bootloader install recovery(CWM), install busy box using flashtool... so look for it and read about it... good luck...
Hit the thank button if u like/want to...

tried to root the device, and succeeded,
but can't flash, cant unlook bl, i feel as if i'm lost.
Don't know the kernel file, loader, .tft files, wipe, .. etc.
Where can i find help?

This is the best rom for XMP. To install Cyanogenmod, just go to the cyanogenmod rom thread in the development section and look for installation instructions.
Please refrain from asking about the best rom/kernel as it is against the rules of XDA. I have heard that for asking the best rom/kernel will get users infracted.
Thanking you,

there is some custom roms based on stock ics which can be used with stock or custom kernels, here is an awesome one ( use mesa hybird for battery life or lupus v5 mdpi or kappa kernel for performance OR TRY BY YOURSELF as all kernels are good also and we do not have the right to compare between them but I listed what I know about) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155803

I hate xperia sola actually because it lags alot i dn't think that it is dual core cell phone because my samsung nexus s also works better then this nexus s is only 1GHZ . So this is the reason i want to change my xperia sola and overclock it
As your bootloader unlock status is :no so you cant over clock or do such things like that as for that you need to have a custom kernel and for custom kernel you need unlocked bootloader but you can root your device try doomlord rooting kit here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582

What firmware do you have ICS?
You can overclock maybe to 1.15GHz and that won't help much. You can downgrade to GB it may be better.
What exactly does it say in service config?
My config snap
I've attached the config snap check it
