About a month ago I rooted my Samsung Galaxy Grand(the single sim version) with the help of Klingo Root, worked like a charm and had no problems at all. I even uninstalled all the bloatware samsung and the carrier had installed. About 3 weeks ago then an official update poped-up, so I updated my phone through Samsung Kies. Everything went fine, but after the reboot of the phone I noticed that all the bloatware was back, so I just figured, maybe i have to uninstall it again.
But then disaster struck SuperU said there is no SU Binary installed, so I though could have the update unrooted my phone? So I tried rooting it again with Klingo, doesn't work, I tried Framaroot, doesn't work either, I even tried to install Clockworkmod with Odin and it doesn't work. I even repeated the procedure while factory resetting my phone.
Has anyone else encountered this? It seems my phone is somewhere in between being unrooted and rooted? Everything else works fine.
Help! I just want to uninstall the carrier bloatware!

I thought I rooted my phone.
I used motochopper. Everything went fine.
Rebooted, went in to SuperSU and attempted to download the update to no avail.
Downloaded Titanium Backup to see if I was in fact rooted... And I'm not.
Try to root again with Motochopper, but it fails and says the files already exist!
Also cannot UNroot because, well, supposedly I'm not rooted!!
One big fricken circle!! Help please!
I should mention I have the qualcomm model of the phone.
I just got done rooting my phone after doing a factory restore using Odin-CF-Auto-Root-d2att-d2uc-samsungsghi747.tar for my Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T I747. after I rooted it everything seemed fine, SuperSU opened fine. But I got a system update, I looked and I was running on 4.0.4. So I let the phone install 4.1.2. After the install I go into SuperSU again and I get the Error Message this is no SU binary, This is a problem. Then force close.
The devise still reads as modified, And when putting it in download mode it says custom. So to get SuperSU working again do i need to uninstall the root and then reinstall it on the current 4.1.2? If so how do I got about uninstalling the root? installing it again is simple.
There is an update su binary floating around here somewhere. Search for it and flash it in recovery. All will be fixed.
It happened in mine flashing 4.3

I just ended up fixing it. I guess updating the firmware screws with the superSU. rerooted the phone and superSU worked again but I had 2 trip counts so I used Triangle away and now Its reading as official.
Now I need to find some ROMS for the I747 AT&T.. I hard bricked my last s3 and AT&T replaced it. (not knowing it was hard bricked)
I have the same problem with CF-auto root. SU binary not found.
is there any other method to root s3, 4.3?
another question: why is important the binary counter? who cares how many times did you modified a stock device?
Hi guys
I just got my wife a Samsung Galaxy S3 I747 for ATT using Straight Talk. I purchased one for my self about 3 months ago, same model. Both were purchased used, mine had 4.1.2 and my wife's has 4.1.1. I rooted and installed CWM Recovery on mine. I wanted to update my wife's to at least 4.1.2 like mine or even 4.1.3.
From my understanding, once you root and install a recovery mod, such as TWRP or the ClockWorkMod Recovery, that your phone will not be able to update via your service provider.
The problem is, I got her phone yesterday, and I tried to update it, but it kept saying it was at the latest update/firmware. I even installed Kies, but it reported the same thing. After a few hours, I decided I would root it and install TWRP and maybe install a new ROM with the FW on it later. Well, this morning, the phone reported that an important update was available. Somewhat confused, b/c I thought it couldn't be the FW b/c yesterday it said the phone was at the latest FW, and plus the fact the update is, as I thought, refused by the service provider or phone, when it is rooted or a recovery mod is installed. When it finished, of course it asked to reboot. I was curious how this was going to play out.
When it rebooted, it loaded the TWRP Recovery. Being still new to all this, I wasn't sure how to proceed, so I clicked the reboot button, but nothing happen, so I tried the shutdown button. The phone powered off with no issues. I turned it back on and it loaded successfully to the home screen. I checked the status of the update, and it said it failed. No surprise there, I'm just happy it didn't brick her phone during the process.
Is this normal? Should I just disable updates from my provider? Is it possible to install the update and then just reapply the root and recovery mod?
Thanks
Mike

It is perfectly normal. You described the expected sequence for a phone with any custom recovery. OTA updates download then reboot into stock recovery. Absent that ..what you said.
For your update path, I. urge you to visit xda's i747 forum & read up on the controversy & pitfalls of AT&T's OTA 4.3
Look out for:
locked bootloader
Knox Warranty bit
one way upgrade
(on pain of brick)
It's different this time around.

When you update your software it actually update your firmware. So the previous method will not work for this firmware.
1. you need to do it with different method if developers found it for you
2. just installed previous version of android .
3. May be fixed by factory reset..
4. You can even install prerooted custom rom like CM11
As per my experience new update will not that much compactible for all phones..
Hi, I'll start from the beginning, so I have a smart phone vodafone 2 (Alcatel V860) I wanted to upload the new software but accidentally I uploaded a backup of the tablet, after uploading the backup phone can not be connected as the flash mode, or in any way, you can not enter the recovery can not in any way connect the computer, the phone is as if dead. when I connect it to the computer when it is turned off the sound indicating that a new device has been detected, however, this software can not be installed. I hope that there will be a magician who already had a similar problem and knows what to do. Please help as soon as possible, if anyone knows what's going on I can talk about it on skype because it seems to me that it will be hard to even describe.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,
I rooted my phone a month ago using Kingo Root, it works fine. So I un-rooted now and restarted the phone and it says "custom" when I go to Settings - Status, etc.. I factory reset the phone and it still says custom! weird.
I don't know why this is happening, when I had an S4 and used Kingo Root to root it says custom but upon un-rooting the phone returned to Normal.
Does anyone have a stock recovery img to flash? or a way to solve this? I would like to be able to check for updates.
I have the C101 International version.
Thanks
Have you tried installing a stock ROM with Odin software? It should resolve the problem! have you tried it?
