Hello guys!
I'am an owner of the atrix and a few days ago i flashed the cm9-20131123-unoficial-olympus with the gapps-ics-20120429-signed.
The problem:
After i press the volume rocker in sleep mode, the screen shows me only a distorted picture - similar like that example from google: http : //i50.tinypic. com/s27aya.jpg
If i press the power button - same problem.
After pressing the button very often in succession (10-16 times), mostly i see the lockscreen suddenly normal how it should be.
I guess that the bootloader produces the problem.
Have you any ideas?
You did of course take your time to read all the relevant info from the kernel threads before you opened this thread, right?

Yes i read the kernel thread before - i found a similar problem but no clear solution for this.
I didn't say search for a similar problem. I said actually READ the threads. At least the first and the last few pages.

Hey guys, today I was going through my gallery and I saw a screenshot of a text message conversation. The name of the folder is "ScreenCapture" and its a perfect screenshot, but my phone isn't rooted and I don't know of any apps that might have taken the screenshot... any ideas?
I'm really curious as to how this screenshot just appeared out of nowhere.
It is a glitch in the software. When you are pressing the back button button and there is a bit of lag before the previous screen starts you hit another button and that causes this phenomena, it has been posted several times, if you try maybe 1 in 50 you will be successful........
Just found a few threads revolving around this, sorry guys - mods delete this please

yeah i saw that - thanks for the reply!!
This ROM is working very well on my UK Rhod 100. Very stable & fast and since the latest update I have the correct HW keyboard layout. Battery life is limited but carrying a second battery is an easy solution.
The previous problems where the screen would not turn on after several pushes of the power button almost never occurs. However when the battery runs down to about 30% the screen always changes such that a red overlay occurs visible mainly on screens with a white background (see pics). Also when the screen changes ghost images remain from previous screens. Also at this point sometimes the screen will not turn on despite repeated use of the power button. Strangley, even though there is nothing visible on the screen I can unlock the phone by swiping in the expected area (and get haptic feedback) and long press the power button and turn off the device by pressing in the expected areas. Upon a reboot the screen will initially be back to normal but then if the battery is below 30% the problem will return. These issues never occur if the battery is above 30%. If I take screenshots with shootme the pics captured look normal when viewed after a reboot before the problem recurs. Not sure what the system does when the battery falls to this level but the screen is definitely affected. This problem also occurs with a fresh install with no apps installed.
If anyone has any ideas as to what could be the cause (and even better a solution) it would be most welcome. Thanks to all those behind this project.
Sorry you are having troubles. Unfortunately as noted in the first post for that thread we only have RHOD400s to test with. No one else has reported any similar issues. The 100s are known to be the problem children of the RHOD family. If you come up with a fix let us know, and we will try to include it in any future releases.

Did you look at ACL's work on RE'ing that panel code...?
He said something about the panel power up/power down sequence on the 100's (the AUO panel specifically) to be quite a bit different.

arrrghhh, I noted your post in the ROM development thread regarding the start up sequence in the OMGB kernel for the AUO panel. Perhaps this would solve my issue as well. If this change could be added to the next edition of this ROM my device would be virtually bug free.
As noted in the thread, we do not have any RHOD100s to test with. It is very unlikely that this will happen. If you would like to make your own kernel with these changes I can post it.
issue or not?
hi,
thanks a lot, first of all.
I've been trying to figure out how to get an Italian keyboard layout.
any suggestion?

try using AItype Keyboard Plus which supports multiple languages and keyboard layouts
Sorry I didn't express myself properly. I meant the physical keyboard. In other thread I read something about a startup.txt file, I don't know if it applies to this ROM (and moreover I can't find it).

startup.txt files are only for the SD card versions of the android roms.
You would need to edit the keyboard map. Here is generic android keyboard map info.
There may be apps out there than can change your keyboard map, but I don't know any details about that.
Also in the future it would be best to start your own thread, rather than using an unrelated one. Better yet, post the questions about the rom you are working with in the thread for that rom.
i am having also a screen problem with that Rom and Kernel:
My screen is not calibrated. When i press it's being pressed on somewhere else on the screen.
P.S.
My RAM is not 100 +- this rom showing me 33 for usage on the device :S.
Can someone help me with those two ?

Did you read the link that covered screen calibration listed under related goodies, or did you search for the threads that cover screen calibration under android? Tell us what you have tried, but didn't work.
No idea what you mean by the ram is not 100.
What the heck is going on here? Is this just the thread to jack?
Let's focus on the display issues please folks, as in your response should be related to the original post.

In an attempt to bring this thread back on topic I thought I'd report back that the original problem has not happened for a few weeks. My setup is essentially unchanged, the only change is that I have been using One Power Guard to try and improve battery life, which by the way seems to be effective. Managed 13hours with light use (few calls/occassional data for email web browsing)
Anyway it could be coincidence but it is possible that one of the tweaks performed by the app has sorted this issue. Since nobody else has reported the same problem I'm not sure how useful this info is but hopefully it may be of use to someone.
Hi, yesterday I upgraded from Paranoidandroid 3.68 to the new project Paranoidandroid 3.99 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397762
But I have an annoying problem - The touch button backlight keeps randomly turning on and switches off only when i click on screen. This only happens when I use it, it seems to be some kind of response or something. I have gone in settings>buttons>backlight and disabled it yet this does not disable the random turning on of it. Anyone know how can I completely disable it without installing custom kernels? Or what is causing it to randomly turn on all the time.
That's due to the touch key backlights. On 4.2.2 (PA 3.68) there was an option to disable them. On 4.3 it was removed by CM so a lot of other ROMs don't have the option either. What I've done on other 4.3 ROMs is to install the device settings apk and use that to turn them off. I haven't tried it on PA though.
I'm on mobile so can't give you a link... Search through my past posts from a couple weeks back. I posted the apk and instructions a couple of times, once in the PACman thread, once in Q&A. I also saw the steps quoted in Q&A by someone else too, you might come across that thread.
Oh wait you could probably even go to my 'most thanked posts'. It might be one of those. See how you go.

Hmm, thanks! But I did that, installed whole custom settings apk and launched the custom settings and turned the backlight off in there too, but it's exactly the same. Also this rom already has backlight button setting in options, so it didn't do anything new as far as i can tell.
The key backlight turns on randomly after like 5-30sec of pressing on screen. It's not like the usual backlight turning on keypress but it turns on after some time instead.
Edit: Backlight keeps turning on even if i have the default 3sec deley. the backlight would turn off after 3 sec and then back on after like 10sec until screen turns off or i press again on screen. Weird, maybe rom bug? I cant post on rom thread because i don't have enough posts
Edit 2: OK I have linked it to screen brightness. Every time screen brightness changes (from adaptive lightning, screen timeout and app/game setting) the key backlight turns on. I have no idea how to force the key backlight to stay off though, so thats why im here
Oh wow. Good job narrowing it down to that, I imagine it wasn't easy to figure out what was causing it. Have you read the rom thread for the last 15 pages or so? See if someone else is having the same issue. Also read the OP and following posts, for known bugs /FAQ. You should have read OP before flashing anyway but read it again
If you don't find anything else, try to get a few extra posts and then post in the thread. You seem to know what you're doing, so try helping out a few other people on Q&A maybe.

The latest(todays) build fixed the issue. Thanks for help!
Hi everyone!
Very first post in here, I really want to thank everyone for all the answers I have been finding for years here!
But today, I am not able to find a solution to my problems, with this amazing rom... So here I am.
I have followed the instructions to install this rom, as usual. I even changed my recovery and installed succesfully the latest Philz recovery.
Everything that I read that went wrong for other people went actually good for me. Problem is I identified three things that don't work, I searched this whole forum and the internet with no success:
1) page buddy does not work. I get the small vibration when spen is detached, i get the favorites in the notification bar, and the spen icon on the top left corner, but the actual spen related page (homescreen) does not show up!
2) smart alert does not work, no vibration when phone is "shaked" while an unread message notification is displayed...
3) the keyboard does not automatically switch from typing to writing and vice versa, when spen is detached ornpluged back in.
If the dev or someone using this rom can confirm / help, it would be awesome!!!
Many thanks in advance

A newb's story
Ever since, I hate haptic feedbacks that are unnecessary like when you just select a virtual button, say for example on a Pie Control. It doesn't make sense.
Now, a ROM named COSMIC conquered my phone and since then they never came apart. Together, they said "we can conquer the whole world!" One day, this app named Antutu came and tested my phone. The outcome? It was fair. But one thing strange happened. All the virtual buttons on the Pie Controls module of xPosed would return haptic feedbacks when they're pressed or selected. Those haptic feebacks are the sudden tremors that alert a user like me. I panicked. I flashed COSMIC, over and over again. And tried searching for something to stop the tremors on my phone but nothing changed. There are tremors everywhere. Even when I tap and hold a widget.
Until one day, I found this toggle switch "Power Saving" in the pull-down panel from above the screen (status bar). I just tapped on it, and boom! No more haptics.

If you would have asked me then I would have answered you that power saving completely disable this haptic feedback.........But good to know people exploring cosmic rom very deeply.......
if u have any other issue then post it on rom thread so that it can be removed in next update......
