Hey guys, today I was going through my gallery and I saw a screenshot of a text message conversation. The name of the folder is "ScreenCapture" and its a perfect screenshot, but my phone isn't rooted and I don't know of any apps that might have taken the screenshot... any ideas?
I'm really curious as to how this screenshot just appeared out of nowhere.
It is a glitch in the software. When you are pressing the back button button and there is a bit of lag before the previous screen starts you hit another button and that causes this phenomena, it has been posted several times, if you try maybe 1 in 50 you will be successful........
Just found a few threads revolving around this, sorry guys - mods delete this please

hello can you help me? sam on my s2 ics installing 4.0.3 does not work on any side key medium pressure type vibration options for data connection ... ... and the screen freezes? Instead gingerbread installing everything works perfectly? done deep clean either 1 or 2! several times! and especially in the boot after installing the app does not exit the screen typical of different languages and configurations, but turns on as if I reboot and everything was already installed!
What did I just read...

me too had the same problems as like urs. side key doesn't lock the screen and holding it longer switches my phone off. but the flight mode, data connection mode, power off , silent mode, all are gone. holding the side button used to show a white box list containing these elements........but now it switches the phone off after holding it longer. Please help anybody to solve this issue

Means you are probably missing your keystr file. The fix has been discussed dozens of times already. Please search for this. FYI, you will need root to implement the fix.
thanks man....u mean to say that i should prefer rooting my galaxy s2 ics 4.0.3....ok then .... but the FYI code for fixing these didnt work without rooting....hope it works after rooting

You didn't search the right thing. I said your keystr file is missing. You didn't mention a keystr file anywhere there.
Google this: "site:forum.xda-developers.com i9100 ics keystr"

thank you to Condi, I had upgraded my tablet s to ICS. everything work fine.
except taking screen shot. I had read from Sony blog that there's new feature for taking screen shot by pressing "Power"+"Volume down". I tried press it but nothing happen. I can't find any setting for this as well. anyone can give an advice?
Thanks in advance.

Same problem here
you have to hold both buttons for one second
it the volume bar is shown reboot again and then it should work... had the same problem here but after a while it worked ^^
Working fine here. You do need to keep the buttons pressed for like half a second or so, though...
thank you very much , it works now!
I had to push this 2 button at exactly same time. (cannot press one button first follow with another) and hold it for a while.
+1 for such simple action Thanks
sweet, that was an awesome add on sony did for the tablet
Screenshot with power+volume down actually a native ICS function. It's available on any ICS rom.
Everyone on this forum probably already knows the answer to this, but what buttons do you have to press to get a screenshot of the phone? (I know there are apps that do this, but I want to know the built in one)
Basically, my 2½ year old son was playing with my newish E3D and when I took it back he had taken some screenshots. I had no screenshot app or anything like that.
I gave E3D to him again, but he hasn't done it again, I tried various buttons and can't find it. Can someone please tell me?
Power button then home button in quick succession.
Thanks dude! (I've hit the button). Was it something in the manual or something?
Dont think so, just picked it up while browsing some threads.
Hello guys!
I'am an owner of the atrix and a few days ago i flashed the cm9-20131123-unoficial-olympus with the gapps-ics-20120429-signed.
The problem:
After i press the volume rocker in sleep mode, the screen shows me only a distorted picture - similar like that example from google: http : //i50.tinypic. com/s27aya.jpg
If i press the power button - same problem.
After pressing the button very often in succession (10-16 times), mostly i see the lockscreen suddenly normal how it should be.
I guess that the bootloader produces the problem.
Have you any ideas?
You did of course take your time to read all the relevant info from the kernel threads before you opened this thread, right?

Yes i read the kernel thread before - i found a similar problem but no clear solution for this.
I didn't say search for a similar problem. I said actually READ the threads. At least the first and the last few pages.
Hello everyone,
Today I was checking my phone and I noticed this big oval spot at the bottom left of the screen.. It only appeared in the morning, but I never seen it before! It's like it came all of a sudden! VERY STRANGE ON AN OLED SCREEN!
it's not visible at all on a pitch black background, but only on light colors like white, gray...etc check the attached photos below !
anyone have or had same issue on their Xperia 1? and if anyone knows what caused it to appear and if its gonna be permanent or if it will disappear by the time?
Please let me know in the comments!
thanks for your contribution and help!
Since you are using the gesture mode. I believe it's something with the sideswipe rather than screen/display problem.

yes, since i got the phone which is 1 year and 3 months I've been using gesture swipe option.. do you think it's a software rather than hardware?
Yes. I think it's software.
In my phone, I sometimes see that the clicked gesture keeps showing in the back button.
I have seen it many times.
I guess it's similar to what mine was in yours too.
.... and it exactly looks like you are going back from the app or menu.
Maybe you can try using the two-finger or 3 classic types to check.

do you still see your spot or it's completely disappeared as it never been there?
also, have you tried to factory reset your phone and see if it's software or hardware?
thanks for keeping up!
It's gone but appears sometimes.
Mine disappears by pressing the power button, or back key or recent apps.
