I am frustrated with the lack of anything like this for ICS. I am in the same boat as you. I can't believe that Google Now is completely broken for ICS. Likewise, if you are on ICS, YOU CANNOT EVEN FIND VLINGO ON THE MARKET.
I seriously believe that Google paid Vlingo off to not make it available for ICS because we literally have no choice but to buy a Jelly Bean phone in order to have a decent voice search or voice activated app. (Because nothing comes close to Google Now or Vlingo in voice capability)
If you read the forums about ICS, you will see nothing but post after post of how ICS basically has broken voice activated and voice search mechanics. Google bent over backwards to put Google Now on Iphone, but refuses to support Google Now for ICS.
If anyone thinks it's a coincidence that Vlingo is off of the Android market for ICS and that Google Now was broken, then you are naive.
Google sold us out to get us to buy Jelly Bean phones.
I'm officially done buying Android phones after my current one dies in the future. I've never heard of such poor support for the second newest OS before. It's like ICS does not exist to Google.
Can you imagine how many thousands of people would download Vlingo from the market if they are stuck on ICS since we don't have Google Now?
(please let me know if I'm correct as I wonder if it's just HTC ICS that can't see Vlingo on market?

Hi guys
It used to be a microphone beside the google search widget.
when i was on 2.1 Brazil firmware it was there, but now I updated the phone to Rogers generic firmware and there no sign of that mic .
just wanted to know how can I active that mic again?
thank you
Wow, lucky that you made this thread!
I have exactly the same problem after upgrading my firmware, but on the Samsung I5800 phone (I guess the apk file is the same).
Bump!
Look in your applications to see if "Voice Search" is installed. If it's not maybe that's the problem, I don't know why Rogers wouldn't allow it though??? I could try to get the .apk from my phone if you need it but I can't post this here as it's not open source. PM me!
Hahah I was searching for the same thing today. There is the older version of the app you can download in the Themes and apps section put so fr it does not work on 2.1. The app market says the voice app is for 2.2 or higher. I would love to have the voice there though. I am temporarily using Vlingo but it is kinda ****e.
Sorry if I don't make any sense , this is my first post.
But I wanted to know if theres anyway I can use/enable the Google Wallet Application on my Sony Xperia S as it has NFC support which is required to use Google Wallet.
I read some fourms that there is a cracked version that will work if if you install CM 7. But I wanted to know if this is true or if they are any other methods because I really want to get this to work!
Any help or information would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

As I know, in this moment it is impossible to use Google Wallet in other phones then a few more supported by Google. Cracked versions could be installed on other devices, also XPS, but it dosen't work. In some cases (Samsung phones) you can install cracked version, but I would avoid this - it is your money security matter. I see, that lack of GW on other devices - is Google choice. Maybe they just testing this feature and we have to wait.
yeah, suck google, release the thingy to everyone, why the wait, it's been out for awhile now.
i tried a lots of methods to install it but no go any way. but mastercard is releasing its similar wallet app very soon in which you'll be able to register any credit/bank card, not just mastercards, and there you go, go to hell google, you lost
.
I really want GW for my SXS, too
Hey Guys,
I am new to the SIII world. As the Official Jellybean update is round the corners I don't wanted to flash the Super Nexus(JB update) but I can't wait for the Google Now and the enhanced Google Voice Search therefore I wanted to ask Is there any way in which I can just flash the Google Now (with Voice Search) to my phone without having to flash the whole JB rom.
Be careful there's a lot of idiots on here who will jump at you for posting about something that's previously been discussed. It's pathetic IYAM.
I am not like that, so here is what you might be looking for:

Leaked Jelly Bean Firmware
Hello.
There is 3 leaked Jelly Bean firmware versions already.
Why don't you just install one of them?
I'm currently on XXDLH4 but downloading XXDLH7 (wich just leaked today!!!) to flash is ASAP...
Google now is here!
The first time it looks a little scary, for instance, when it tells you that you are 20min. away from home and have 5 min. delay because of traffic, even without calendar events... or any other setting.
But it is really cool, weather events, calendar reminders (if they have the addres it even tells the ETA time), traffic predictions...
Really awesome!
Hi all.
I am looking to root in order to get wireless tether for my tablet, and I would like to have Google Now, too. In version 2.9, I see this ROM offers a choice between Voice Search & Google Now. Does Voice Search refer to the way Google speaks the answer to a query? Or, just the way we can search by speaking?
Any way to have both?
Do camera & camcorder operate well? Is HTC'S panorama camera feature included?
Thank you for your time!
So I have a Galaxy S4 and finally updated it to Android 4.4, so you might be going 'wow, Samsung is slower than HTC for once!' and I'll go 'yeah, I know right!'. Anyways, now I'm interested in this 'Swype' keyboard installation that's going on. Before we begin, just thought you should know that I am just curious with who is doing this so it's not really an issue of mine.
Swype can only be disabled, but cannot be uninstalled. I have used Swype before as a trial, but removed it as I liked SwiftKey better. Now I'm almost positive this was a new install with Android 4.4 because I had to go through the welcome screens for Swype when I first selected it as my default keyboard input method. You might ask how did I first notice this? Well, a friend of mine was spamming emoji's because they new I couldn't do it back and so I was going through all the keyboards I had to see if they had a list of Emojis, which looked like is only available on Google's stock keyboard. Anyways, as I'm certain that I did not install Swype, it had to come with the update, but my question (or interest) is who did it?
As far as I know, Samsung has their own keyboard with a SwiftKey licensing to use their word prediction algorithm. Highly doubt Google brought Swype in as it would just introduce competition against their own keyboard and it wouldn't make sense not to implement Emojis on Swype if Google indeed did bring Swype in. I'm speculating that Swype (Nuance really) paid Google to have their application installed on all new 4.4 updates?
