Depends on your needs. If you Google it, you will find a lot of answers, but you must try at least a few launchers and browser's. For ex, For me, best browser is Baidu, bcs it suits my needs, and best launcher was 91 launcher. So.... Start trying

Let me clarify my question, if I replaced(removed) the stock launcher package with a paid launcher, will performance of the paid launcher improve?
Depends on the launcher. One with alot of features will probably be a bit slower, but more minimal ones designed for speed would be a bit faster.
There are free ones too that are just as fast. It's going to depend on your particular phones setup also, How many apps or widgets you have, stuff like that.

It depends...a feature-filled launcher like adw or launcher pro won't be as fast as zeam or another lightweight launcher

LauncherPro is blazingly fast for me. I have every animation/feature turned on except homescreen transitions.
Way faster than Zeam.
Give golauncher a go. I prefer it over launcher pro. Adw is another solid choice if you want a minimal build.

For me it has not slowed down at all. I'm using Adw ex and it works very quick. Just go into the settings and configure it to your liking. I run seven screens with many Widgets and I actually feel it faster than my stock launcher. Try go launcher ex. Great and free. Adw I suggest as well but its preference. Good luck.

Well,i use Launcher Pro,simple,very fast and smooth,also You could use Xperia Active Launcher,not so smooth,but its cool!

ADWLauncher EX is awesome
Launcher Pro + XperiaArc Theme.
And it will look like Arc Launcher if you use a dock background but since it is LP, it is way more faster.

I am using Launcher Pro on my GDXv017 ROM, smooth and powerfull.
The best, imho, remains Launcher Pro: highly customizable, theme-able and the smoothest i've tried.
If you like something lightweight, can try Zeam Launcher, I like its scrollable dock and the vertical scrolling in the app drawer (that default home doesn't have), even if it's a minimal launcher.
I tried also Claystone 3D, it seems fine to me, lot of features and I think more suitable (in terms of weight and smoothness) for our phone with respect to SPB.

I have just brought a zte blade, and I'm currently trying to optimize it.
I need the lightest launcher you guys know, since the phone only has 600mhz and an adreno 200 on a 480x800 screen...that's a lot of pixels to draw for such a modest hardware....
So far I have tried:
Launcher pro
Adw launcher
Mx launcher
Zeam
Helix launcher
And a few more...
By far the best ones are
1-launcher pro
2-Mx launcher
3-ads
The best one so far is launcher pro...
Is there any other launcher that I'm ignoring and has similar performance to pro??
Feel free to recommend, ill try everything you guys recommend

I was using adw ex in a htc magic and I loved it. Fast and very complete and useful. Zeam launcher is more light but didn't have too much features

I'm currently using GO Launcher which has great customization and features, not to mention great Widgets ... but if you're looking for light, I also recommended zeam. Not too much in terms of customization but its extremely light and fast. Pair it with android pro Widgets and u should be good to go

I think Go laucher is the one that consumes less RAM, you should try it.
I have an GT540, it has an MSM7227 CPU 600MHz with adreno 200 like you. The screen is only 480x320 but the amount of RAM is so limited that the launcher and SMS apps be killed constantly. So I must choose the lightest launcher. this topic is very helpful to me

just wondering whats the best launcher for you? I just formatted my phone and i used to use Go launcher EX ..i tried many others like Launcher 7 , Launcher pro , Nemu , and MX ..but still all those is pretty weak compared to EX ..so heres my review / thoughts over those launchers
1. Launcher Pro - it's a good launcher easily , smooth , responsive ,lightweight and stable doesn't have much problems but it feels a little basic for me .
used for about a month or so
2.Nemu -Oddly thou when i first use this launcher what surprises me is the smoothness , its very very smooth and the folders are very unique , the app drawer is also pretty basic but it's beautiful still i hardly use folders so its not my cup of tea
used about 2 days =P
3.Launcher 7 - Beautiful and sexy launcher , looks like a Rom than a launcher , mimics WP 7 nearly perfectly and all looks great , smooth and stable but theres one big problem ...it has very very few to no widgets and adding apps to homescreen is ugly (its very blur ) ..sadly , but if you not into widgets this is perfect for you !
4.MX- feels like a weaker version of ex but well weirdly thou its the launcher i am currently using ..it feels sleek and fast , the app drawer is basic but its also beautiful and most of all it has a clock at the end of the screen ! feels faster then EX tho ...
5.Go launcher EX - IMO the perfect launcher , resizable widgets , touch sensors ( scroll up to launch etc .) , build in task manager , tons of extra and useful widgets , tons of themes and easy to apply , feels natural and good scrollable extra bottom page ..man it's a excellent launcher , it's a little lag sometimes but it's still great ..use it for about 4months changing to MX for something new got a little bored of it =)
conclusion : EX is the best but imma chaging to something new for a change
so whats your opinion of the best launcher?

-netfront life v2 ; this launcher very different in style & UI.

I can never stick with one launcher for a long time. I switch around. Maybe, GOL EX for a week or 2 then Active and maybe LP. And so on....
I just can't stick with a certain launcher! Also, for those users WHO use go launcher, check out my friend "Quinny898". He has a MIUI Theme for GO launcher!

found something new ...pair froyopro with laucher 7 ..this 2 really goes well together ..unlike the froyopro stock launcherpro which is lagging my phone like crazy the launcher 7 is pretty smooth ...weird ..

Well i tried a few launcher ALl OF THEM WORKS SLOW WITH LAGS.
and thats ironic because my brother MTK6575 runs them perfectly.
and thats anoying ! , does any one else got these lags on most of the launchers ? (The new TT Launcher. Holo Launcher . ADW . ETC)

smart launcher pro works slick and has a different feel than any other launchers I've used... just my two cents
Holo Launcher works really well, maybe you are using heavy animations or too many widgets per page.
