Hi, I have bought a NATEC NAT-0603 Smart TV dongle, which supposedly comes rooted with superuser installed, but after trying to perform some operations that require root access, I can't get them to work. One of the root checkers indicates the device is not rooted.
Is there a way to root this device from scratch? I guess same goes for earlier versions of this product. Has anybody tried this? If so, please share your knowledge with me, since I can't find anything online.
Thanks in advance.
I bought a Coolpad Arise (edit: Model 5560S) today at Kroger for $10 (and got 500 fuel points doing so). This phone blew me away. The proc, and gpu are better than I expected, it runs 4.4.2, and it has an SD card slot. Now to the issue:
I've been trying to get root on the device but haven't had any luck. Towel(with multiple modstrings) and Kingo didn't do anything. I'm ready to take the next step. I'm an Android developer and feel like I should help get root on this phone. I've tried to emulate the asec venerabilities to no avail. Is anyone else interested in rooting the arise? I'm not sure where to go from here but would like to have root since the stock os seams to be 99% aosp.
Pointers would also be greatly appreciated.
I'm no Dev but would love root as well. Bought 2 last night for stocking suffers for my kids. As you said you can't beat this for 10 bucks. And BTW I got 1000 points which surprised me figured I'd only get 500 for the initial, and considering I usually fill up with 20 plus gallons this phone literally was free with the discount I'll get! Thinking of going to get a third now!
Root would be great
There must be a LOT of these out there with the recent sale(s) on this model.
I'm impatiently waiting for this thread to get some action. I've tried everything. Even some Chinese program called permroot.apk that apparently works with coolpads, but I had no idea what I was doing since I can't read Chinese.

Do you have the drivers yet? Couldn't you just unlock the bootloader and load TWRP and an AOKP image that's rooted already?
Just got the arise to play around with. Still can't root device.

I still haven't been able to get root.. I went out and bought another one thinking that the system update might have locked something down (still couldn't root). Since I have second one, I'm going to try some more invasive options.
CoolPad Arise Needs Root Quick
I have recently recieved the coolpad arise and really want to figure out a way to root it. So thats why i have joined this forum thread. XD
Found this by accident, maybe it'll help get root... if you remove the coolpad battery, and plug in a usb data cable from your computer to the phone, the coolpad screen lights up and says "fastboot mode". I tried some of the usual fastboot commands, ie, oem unlock, but nothing happened, it says "waiting for device".
I bought two more of these the other day (today might be the last day for the sale so stock up).
Also found this thread: [Q] Coolpad 5560s - MegaThread: Info/Rooting??
I bought 4 of them, if I wanted there is 1 more there at the store still, lol
try using google translator i use it for that purpose xD

Unroot?
I rooted my coolpad 5560s and now the notifications and screenlock aren't working so i was wondering if there is a way you could unroot.:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Successful root
 I successfully rooted my coolpad arise after multiple attempts with different software. iRoot, Towelroot, vRoot, OneClickRoot, Chainfire's Root App, and Kingoroot all failed.
Someone made a root toolkit for the coolpad arise, but it failed.
I tried exploit apps to try to get root privs. They didn't work.
I then used Root Genius on a computer and successfully got root.
Do not take any updates before or after you root, because you might not be able to root.
To root enable adb on the phone by going to settings > About Device > and tap build number several times until you get confirmation that you're a dev.
Run root genius, and plug in the phone. Click the root button. If phone prompts to allow the pc access, allow it. It will root the device. You must have a good oem cable and good usb port when rooting. If root fails try again on a different pc or with a different cable. Also while rooting you need internet.
I would recommend deleting the touchpal keyboard and freezing log2file and system updates.

Will this Root Genius work with Scratch Wireless ROM? After I root, can I make a ROM dump and backup the Scratch Wireless ROM?
Oh Crap! Now I'm sort of bricked!
I was starting to get some instability (probably due to many device tweaks and the device being almost full, not from Root Genius) on my phone and I went to flash it back to stock for a re-root. This time I gave the root package another try (it didn't work for me the first time perhaps because of maybe some .net framework issues). This time it worked after powering on I followed the instructions and I went through and checked if every app worked. The browser and camera default apps did not work at all. They would open and force close. So, I decided to retry to root toolkit and my device never got pass the "Powered By Android" screen and it wouldn't boot into stock recovery. So I used the Coolpad Official Flash Tools (YGDP) and flash it back to stock. The device didn't work either. I would get the same screen and I was unable to boot into stock recovery.
Please help as I use this device as my everyday device, app dev device, and at my college classes. It is also my primary source for accessing the internet (I use the hotspot often).
Phew, got it fixed by flashing the original stock rom with the company tools.
Hey everyone
I have a new dragon touch M10x 10 inch tablet and was wondering if there is a root method available for it? I dont think these are popular enough where there are custom roms, from my searches anyways, but root would be great.
Thoughts and/or experiences from others with these tablets?
I ordered the tablet for a family member, and thankfully an Amazon reviewer mentioned Kingo Root as their root tool (I hadn't heard of it before).
kingoapp.com for their install file. Installed fine in Windows 8.1 (didn't even reboot), set tablet up with Developer Mode by going to Settings -> About Tablet -> Tap the Build Number until it says You're a Developer. Then just ran Kingo Root from the PC side, and click click all done. Afterwards I did go to the Play Store and install SuperSU. AdAway seems to install fine after rooting.
Hopefully this helps.

Hello I don't know if I can ask here but I can't root my device. I have tried almost everything, from the apk's and even on my laptop. I have a Lenovo A816 running on 4.4.4. I just got this phone, I'm actually an Apple user but my iPhone is being repaired right now. It's safe to say I don't know anything about Androids. I've looked all over google for guides on this phone but nothing comes up. I really want to uninstall some of these system apps. Every time I play music from Spotify or Deezer the app crashes. I've tried King root, Vroot' iRoot' framaroot, oneclickroot. I've literally tried everyone one of them to no avail. When I switched to my laptop, I used Kingo Root and it said root was successful but when I tried root checker it said my root is not installed properly, so no root again. Is there anything I can do to root it. This phone is Chinese.
Thanks
Hello together,
I have a really big problem with my new HiSense A2 (with 6.0.1 Marshmellow)
This is a double-side Android-Smartphone from Alibaba with a 5.5" LCD on front and a 5,2" EInk on back.
So, it will be impossible to find a working custom ROM, for this device as I believe.
I really love this device - if two problems were solved....
1. Problem
Tried to unroot with RootKHP Pro 1.9 - when finished, it says OK - device is rooted, but SU says not rooted and no access to the system-directory.
Then tried KingoRoot - it recognice the Device as Hisense A2 but brakes operation and can't root it.
Is there a possibility to root this Smartphone?
Had rooted all my devices in past cause using titan-backup and other apps that needs root-access.
2. Problem
I'm developing watchfaces for the Samsung Gear S2 and S3 and own this wearables.
Unfortunately the app "Samsung Gear" isn't compatible to the HiSense.
So I got the three apps:
- Samsung Gear
- Samsung Accessory Service
- Gear S Plugin
from my old (and rooted) Smartphone, a LG G2 and installed them onto the HiSense.
Installation was sucessful and everything seemed to be OK.
Can connect the Gear S2/S3 with Bluetooth to the HiSense, they appear as paired devices in the bluetooth-list.
But the app Samsung Gear could'nt establish a connection to the Watches and stays in searching mode - anyhow the Watches are paired and accepted the code with 6 numeric chars..
Is there a way to get Samsung Gear connecting the Watches and push the notifications from the HiSense onto the Watches?
Searched hours and hours in the web for help.
But could'nt find a help anywhere.
Hope, some here can help me to become glad with the Hisense.
kind regards
Veronica
If someone is looking for rooting the Hisense A2.
The multilingual version 6.03.09.00 is rootable with:

The app costs $20, but only one, I found, what works.

Hi,
I tried to root my A2 using kingroot, towelroot, framaroot and one click root apps without success before I found this thread.
drfone app showed "rooted" although the phone was not rooted. Meanwhile, the windows version offers rooting for free and it rooted my phone. However, I am trying to unbrick it since the following reboot...
It is quite possible that this problem would not exist without the numerous previous failed attempts.

Peter
Hi Peter,
do I understand correct, DrFone in Windows free version was able to root your A2, but now your device is bricked after a reboot?
This sounds really fatal.
Hope, you're able to bring your Phone back to lifeain - crossing fingers for.
If your A2 is working again, could you explain, what you did with, please?
kind regards

Hello
normally you only need to follow the following tutorial:
1.1. first HISENSE A2 version update to latest version(6.09)
https://pan.baidu.com/s/1cfHYMy
Password: 15k5
1.2. down load and copy SdCard root `A2.bin`
1.3 power off phone
1.4 volume up + volume down and power button
if success sd card upgrade mode begin.
PS: JOYGRAM
