[Q] [HELP] Intex Aqua Superb Network Unlock, Rooting and Custom ROMS - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello! I have this phone Intex Aqua Superb Dual Sim running on Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 phone which i recently bought in Qatar hoping that i could use the phone in my country, Philippines. I tried using multiple sims from different network providers, it just says network locked and i am not getting any signal from any of our local network providers. The only thing to make it operational (receive signal) is thru hard resetting via Recovery Menu or Factory Reset. But ONLY the SIM1 works AFTER INITIAL BOOT. When i turn it off, or restart the phone, it doesn't recognize the sim again (network locked). Now, i wanted to know if there are any solutions to this?
I'm guessing that Rooting, Unlocking Bootloader and installing Custom ROMS could fix the problem.
I tried google and i get zero results regarding Rooting Intex Aqua Superb, until now i still can't find anything on the internet that can even relate to fix my problem. I am hoping that you guys can help me out. Thank you! :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Unlocked phone connects to phone network under stock ROM but not custom ROMs

I had my S2 unlocked via software while I was abroad to use the local SIM card - the person who did it couldn't unlock it, first blaming the phone as rooted and then hardware as damaged. Instead they made it worse, the phone doesn't connect to any network, whatever SIM card I use. At the time I was using a rooted custom ROM (Rootbox) v4.2.
I found if I use a stock ROM, even if rooted, it connects to phone networks and is unlocked to any SIM card. As you may know, the S2 can only upgrade to v4.1.2 if stock.
I have been going around in circles trying different kernels and ROMs. I would rather use v4.2 than stick with v4.1.2... Rootbox v4.2 used to work fine before trying to unlock the phone.
I have used the 'GalaxSim Unlock' app, in case the unlock process was only partial. I also tried to find if I could relock the phone back to the original network, by removing the EFS folder.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you in advance.
Phone was originally SIM locked to T-Mobile.
Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?
Or has had it happen to them in the past?
The IMEI number is still intact.
