I got the one Max on saturday and went online sunday to root it and maybe get a rom installed on it.
Got it rooted, then was getting ready to go to sleep when I restarted the phone now it has S-off, but no root and will only boot up to a picture of a battery with the red triangle and exclamation point on it.
I got Clock work mod and I can sometimes get ADB to work-- I push a rom over, it says it installed, but then at restart it goes back to the red triangle.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Got Nusense as the only ROM to install-- tried VZW stock recovery adn also the ViperRom, but they error out after waiting 30+ minutes to adb transfer/ sideload.
Thanks for any help.

how come you got s-off but just rooting it? dont make sense.
abd push rom? why? install twrp recovery and boot in recovery, mount usb with usb lead and copy rom to phone and then use recovery to flash rom!

ok so yesterday i rooted my telus fascinate and i was going to isntall the MIUI rom. Following a guides instructions i installed rom manager and did a clockwork mod recovery, i then put the rom on my root file of my sd card and tried to install it through the "install rom from sd card option" on the app. Problem was i only got into the stock recovery mode and not the clockwork one it aslo gave me signature failures. I then followed the guide of this video:
http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7xV0yE9ZcA
when i installed the kernel everything went fine but then after i got into CW recovery and installed the rom my phone booted and it just kept repeating the normal splash screen (it said galaxy I9000 instead) followed by a screen that said something like cryogenic mod. I got freaked out from here and tried to install stock kernels to get my phone running. As of right now my phone will boot but only stay on the splash screen. I can not access recovery mode. I really need some help, thanks.
these are some of the files i used:
the rom i used,

the links are broken. Did you install a rom / kernal specifically for the telus fascinate?
i believe it could have been for the galaxy I9000,
ill try to fix the links btw
update*
i managed to get it into clockwork recovery mode by holding the dam buttons for a solid 5 minutes, after doing this i pressed factory reset, now my phone is stuck saying:
-- wiping data...
Formatting DATA
0_0' im not having a great day
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227807Until I know what version miui and kernal you are trying to flash, it's hard to help. It definately sounds like your phone is soft bricked tho.
Edit* Here are some links you should read up on.

So as of now i got i managed to wipe all of the data on my phone and i am in recovery mode, if i click reboot it does the same thing and stays on the boot screen. If i click the mod from the sd card it flashes from the normal model number screen to one saying cryogen mod. It then keeps going back and forth with a flash of a screen that has a bunch of commands on it for about 2 seconds

The rom you are trying to flash is for a i500 fascinate. I suggest taking the time to do alot of research before you turn the phone into an expensive paperweight. Read this link!!

K well i ran that rom and it works now but he only problem is i dont have any cell service, do you know how to fix that. I know that you are probably laughing at my mild retardism at this subject but i am a big noob. As for what you said in your previous reply is their an MIUI version for the fascinate from telus because i basically rooted my phone so i could get this rom.
thanks
Update*
i followed the instructions on the link you posted and chose the rom for MIUI I9000 as the one i was going to install but when i istall zip from sd it only says installed correctly and then when i reboot it keeps changing from the sgh-t959d to the galaxy s cyanogen screen
yea your boot looped now. I would run the rom that worked just install the compatible radio and kernal for it and you should get cell service back.
ok thanks i got all my cell service back and i got the MIUI rom to work. Now to just ry to remember all the apps i had
Your welcome...glad you got everything working!
Ok, this is my first post so be gentle. I tried to root my sons phone and now it's useless. I went thru HTC's website to unlock bootloader due to having HBOOT 1.5. I'm unlocked and thinking life is good but, I loaded several different ROM's and get the same result. It starts to load the ROM and reboots, sometimes it goes into a safemode with the Viper Rom. I've been jacking with this for 2 days and need some help. I can't find a good link for the RUU or PG86...bla bla bla, I would take it back to stock and surrender but, can't even do that. I've installed TWRP and CWM, just to try different stuff, but get all the same reults.
I think you need to flash the boot.img separately. I'm not sure though. There's a thread for flashing with 1.50 somewhere in the development section
We're comin from a pure power source.
I am having the same issue here, I installed several ROMS, it works for a day, but then the reboot attack starts. Constant lockups and random restarts, sometimes 3 reboots in a row.
ROMs I tried to flash:
1. Xperia XE
2. Titan Trinity 3 HD
3. Nocturnal Adrenaline 1.0.2
Maybe it's the kernel, is there a list of kernels that I can flash?
This worked for me
My phone kept rebooting after root before, but I managed to fix it. This will only work if you can get into fastboot. Download the ruu file located here and run it while in fastboot. This will unroot your phone if you have S-On. After that is done, if it still loops, take out the battery and count to five, then put the battery in and hold the power button on the phone until the phone starts to turn on normally. That fixed my problem, hope it fixes yours. You may have to update after you get your phone started and you will lose all your data. Sorry about the link, I updated to one that has a working download.

Unroot my phone?
Is it possible to re-root it?
Thanks all for the posts. I will give some of this a shot and see what happens. I can get to fastboot, and have loaded a couple of things thru the cmd prompt to try and help, but nothing so far. I'm not really sure if the kernel thing is what's stopping the roms for loading. I can't get the S-OFF, I'm unlocked. I can send anything I want thru the cmd prompt, and also flash zips thru twrp or cwm. Would like to start over but ca't even find a way to do that. Thanks again for the posts.
Cardmastr, we're on the same boat, pg86 takes forever to download, so as I'm waiting patiently, keep me in on the loop with what you're doing.
RUU didn't cut it, kept failing. have not found an image file to flash thru the cmd prompt. Still no luck. What can I throw into fast boot that might help me?????!!!!!!
When I started flashing after using HTC Unlock, I ran "fastboot boot recovery.img" - which booted TWRP with the necessary permissions. Then I wiped everything and flashed the ROM. Haven't had any issues with the ROMs I've tried.
Which recovery did you install? Twrp 1.1.1 is your best bet.
The 2.x version twrp or cwm do not okay nice with some phones.
S3nt from my 3D wond3rland
I used the TWRP 1.1.1. Might of messed up with some of the cmd prompt stuff I'm going back thru.

Guys,
I was trying to perform s-off on my ICS amaze, but while running controlbear, the connection of the phone to the laptop got disconnected.
now my phone is showing a black screen with the image of a small phone in the middle and 3 green arrows forming a circle...
I tried pressing power + down arrow but that gets be to fastboot, I can't get to recovery...
any suggestions?
ok got in to recovery.
trying this again
EDIT:
On second thought.... I go tback to recovery, reflashed a rom... then rebooted, but the green arrows are still there....
how do I get it out of there?
I had the same exact issue and I also got back into recovery and flashed a Rom only to go back to the green arrows but I flashed a different recovery and then reflashed the Rom and the kernel and it booted right up no problems..........however after that I decided to retry the s-off procedure to my other amaze and I got it on the first try so I then went back to this one and I am still unable to achieve s-off on this amaze
ok I used the AIO kit and flashed the stock TMO US kernel... now I no longer see the green arrows.... but it's stuck on the htc logo.....

Hey All, hope this is the right area. I got my Prime and love it, but being an old
computer geek I wanted a better ROM. I let it update to .21 and regretted it of coarse. So I used the stock Asus unlocking tool, then Wolf's ultimate flash and downgrade(worked, took it back to .15) ViperBoy's newly updated PrimeTool 4.6 to root and installed TWRP 2.1. Everything seemed to be fine and I was ready for Android Open Kang
Project - Build 35. Yes it was awhile ago, AOKP looks great and I was drooling to get it in, but recovery didn't work. I have tried to flash different CWM's in, nothing seems to change my problem, I go into recovery and my Android guy is working for just few seconds, then keels over with the dreaded red exclamation mark sign, Dead. Yes my Asus still works with all it's bloatware and plods along but I really want to fix this and am just about desperate to try anything.
My computer has ADB access, and I have a novice's novice level of skills, can anyone,
anywhere help?
06-25-12
Just went through the rooting thing again. My device IS rooted, but NOTHING will get me in the recovery, now have also tried GooManager and ROM toolbox to attempt to install CWM over existing one(?) >sigh< Does anyone think using ADB to push another CWM would be for helpful then dangerous? Help?
Hey everyone, thanks in advanced for looking.
I purchased a rooted HTC 4g View and it was running stock GB with S-OFF. It was rooted with Revolutionary.
I decided it was time to upgrade to HC but I had no knowledge of flashing roms or anything like that and hired someone to do it for me. From what I can tell he flashed "Desenced" and it was great! Then the problems started..
The tablet every so often just went to the loading screen of HC start up. It started doing it very rarely to every hour or so and I decided I would just buy another table because of the inconstant behavior.
Now the tablet won't turn on unless plugged in and only boots into ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.1.5
When I try to wipe everything and reflash desenced, it says Flash Complete! Then reboots, goes straight to CWM again.
I've tried using command prompt while the tablet is plugged in but no matter what I mount, it won't respond to the computer.
Please help, I'd love to have this tablet back.
Okay I found the solution!
I used the adb and the drivers for the stock rom (3.2) from sdk manager.
In CWM Recovery I mounted /system in order for my computer to recognize the tablet.
Once there, I kept rebooting the tablet using the command, "adb reboot oem-78" until the corrupted rom booted up enough for me to be able to use the RUU.
I then followed the instructions on this thread
Everything is now great and I've learned a lot. Thanks everyone for looking and if anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy to share.
Cheers!
