Has anybody ever successfully replaced the back cover & buttons on the Verizon version with the international versions? Is this even possible? From what I've been looking at, what you would have to do is replace the rear housing & the door and that should be it.
Would this interfere with wireless charging?
Does the ports line up?
Will the rear door even fit back on?
The reason I want to do this is so that i will be able to use regular cases for this phone instead of using the limited selection of cases for Verizon
EDIT: Nevermind, it's not possible. I can tell just by looking at the inside of the battery cover of each phone. Different contacts.
Due to wireless charging. Also the reason buttons are different.

I recently picked one up used because I needed something smaller and more durable than my GS3.
But I've noticed that my battery cover doesn't seem to clip on correctly.
When I hold it a certain way, the clips snap back in, but then pop right out. I also noticed that the corner
where the cell phone strap is creeks.
Is there a special way to put it on that I am not aware of or did I just buy a phone with a faulty back cover?
Thanks!
Hey guys,
I got an official S-view cover from ATT store (Black) for my new note 3. I love it except for one major problem. When I fold the cover open around the back and set it down on something like a desk or table. Eventually the phone will sit completely flat against the cover and I am noticing that the cover will engage S-view mode on the phone while it it folded around the back of the phone. This is super annoying, because when its in S-View mode the phone is essentially locked and I can't do anything with it unless I un-fold the cover from around the back. I thought maybe I had a bad cover with super strong magnets or something so I returned it to ATT and bought another one from T-Mobile (This was the advice I got from Samsung support). I having the exact same problem with this one. Now I think its my phone. I can replicate this problem anytime by simply putting pressure on phone the and cover while it is folded around the back. When I hold the phone in my hand with the cover around the back it is not as prevalent because phone usually is not sitting completely flat to the cover (because the cover is still new). Once it breaks in and gets flimsy this will happen all the time completely limiting phone functional while the cover is around the back. I had the an S-View cover on a S4 and it never had this problem. Can any of you guys replicate this issue or do I have a bad phone. Please help, I need to know if I need to exchange my phone. Thanks in advance.

I've got the same problem here. It seems to be an issue of either the little magnet on the bottom of the cover being too strong or the sensor on the phone being too sensitive. Definitely annoying and poorly designed. I don't know of any solution. I just wedge my finger behind the cover to prevent it from tripping, but that's hardly a solution.
Can't help you with this issue.. but I got bought two knock-offs on the web and never experience anything like that. Probably the way it's built with the OEM case.
I have the same problem with my sview case for note 3.
Interesting issue. I have the wireless charging s-view case and I can confirm that this dos not happen with it. I guess that is due to the thicker back cover portion.
I know you can get both cases separately (official S view) OR QI/NFC back cover, but I am unable to find a combined on ebay. And my attempts to install the s-view chip onto the qi\nfc coil\chip have failed thus far.
Now my NOte 3 wont even return to working pain S-View. I have ruined the magnetic flip sensor thingy mcjob, or the pins arent connecting.
What is the best way to test to see if the chips are connected\detected on an s-view case? installed a few "hardware info" apps and all they seem to show is that magnetic sensor certainly detects magnetic changes when flipping an s-view case, yet samsung s-view UI dioes not get triggered.

I realize this was posted a while ago, but in the spirit of information, I experimented and with a magnet you can find the small magnet in the sview cover, and you can also check if it triggers the sview action by passing the small magnet in the vicinity of the lower left hand side of the screen. The nfc is built into the battery, and some sview covers have wireless charging function, which will be apparent if you find two gold colored contacts inside the back which sit to the side of where the battery sits. for as small as the magnet in the cover is, if it's misaligned it may not trigger the action. also neodymium permanently lose there magnetism if exposed to too high heat, and although relatively low, I would think it would melt the cover before doing so. If one is doing some sloppy madding though, it could happen. I would check the software side of the problem, make sure the funtion is enabled. If running custom rom, check that the function is available.
Something I am still trying to figure out myself is how the wireless charging works, I have an s view cover with the wireless charging circuit and I have a cheap qi charger. I also have a wireless charging reciever I pull out of another battery cover I thing from a note 3 but I don't remember. Its contacts line up correctly with mine, but it also has two more contacts that line up with the other ones which I assume are for nfc, because the look to be attached to a separate coil antenna. With the charger powered, nothing happens when I put the note on it. If I put the unit from the other cover it it, it start the charging cycle. if I put that unit onto my note and hold it in place with the stock plain battery cover it still works, and the phone indicates that its charging. Put the svirw cover back on, nothing.maybe I'll start another thread on that questiion.
I'm trying to track down a metal back cover for my Nexus 6. I haven't found one anywhere online. I am not looking for a faux metal skin, or a metal case. I want to replace the plastic back with a metal one. Any ideas?
You do know that wireless charging won't work with a metal back, right?
A metal back cover would most likey kill your cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC reception.
To answer your question, I have never seen one. You could possibly cut the top/bottom off of a soda can, cut the resulting cylinder in half, peel the stock cover off, trace it onto the sheet of aluminium, cut it out, and use that.

Yeah, it would kill wireless charging, that's why new metal phones don't do wireless charging. I've never used it though. The signal through should be fine in theory because the antenna bands are actually built into the metal frame. Each corner has two lines on top and side which allow the antenna to get signal.
i have found the perfect solution only ull hav to use CAD to mak design of the back panel or found a exact data file with all needed measurements im gonna get one done just not sure wen, im also thinking of modding the phone and new back panel to act as a fanless heatsink as well

I've often thought about creating some sort of heatsink for these devices. Please do make a post about your experience if you do it!
Discovered my back cover is bent after taking my phone case off. tried to bend it back but now there are gaps where the buttons are. Still works fine I am just looking for a replacement back cover.
Any recommendations? I've looked on aliexpress not sure which ones are good or not, and some comes with "fingreprint flex cable" and "Sim card holder" they look dodge as, not sure if its meant to be inside the cover or outside. . . . regardless do i need one with fingerprint flex cable? is this somehow attached to the external covers?
Covers i am looking at https://www.aliexpress.com/item/for-Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-4-Global-Battery-Back-Cover-Rear-Back-Door-Housing-Card-Tray-Holder/32905160801.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.10.3749fb1ar1oAVk&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10065_10068_10130_10547_319_317_10548_10696_453_10084_454_10083_10618_10307_537_536_10131_10132_10902_10133_10059_10884_10887_321_322_10103,searchweb201603_70,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=f3ba9a01-2a7e-4b0f-ae21-4f6e684df1cc-1&algo_pvid=f3ba9a01-2a7e-4b0f-ae21-4f6e684df1cc
If anyone knows where i can get genuine covers would be great as well.
