[/QUOTE]A question: I have a S5830i stock kernel and ROM with Ace-i-Sure v.12.0.0 | GT-S5830i, plus I have linked the APP, APP-PRIVATE, DALVIK-DATA CACHE folders and an EXT2 partition with Link2SD 2GB 32GB SD in my type 10, to expand a little internal memory ace.
I tried the Broadcom ClockworkMod and in doing backup I get the following error message:
Could not mount sd-ext. Sd-ext backup may not be supported on this device. Skipping backup of sd-ext.
Only works on partitions ext-4? or only with custom kernel?
An Ace-I does not have an internal USB storage, unlike, say, a Galaxy W or S4.
This error is normal and will not affect your backup.

I disagree with what you've said, because with version 5.0.2.6 if properly clockworkrec backs and also restoration. I must say I have not tried the restoration with the copy without the ext-2.
thanks anyway
OK... i think there is error in Broadcom ClockworkMod in mount sd-ext
try "ClockWorkRec5830i" it will work properly
Yes, it is possible to work in ext-4 can not handle partitions in another format.

Hi xda memebers.
I downloaded and installed cm7.2 rc1 for our live with walkman.
I mean i installed the incl. kernel and the rom.
All went fine.
I took a 2gb sd card and partitioned it via a puppy linux boot cd.
I made an ext3 partition with 256mb and from the leftover i made a fat32 partition.
I installed link2sd to move aps, widgets, etc to sd-ext (my 256mb ext3). Link2sd created the script and i was apple to move to sd-ext. I ckecked it with rootexplorer. I also used freespace to check. The sd-ext partition is listed.
After that i thought o making a backup. So i bootet to cwm 5.0.2.8 and choosed backup.
So cwm began backing up the system, data, cache, etc. At the point for backing up the sd-ext partition it gave me an error message "no sd-ext found. Skipping backup."
I looked into mounts and storage, there is only an option for mounting sdcard. Sd-ext is missing.
So whats the problem? Doesn't the used cwm support sd-ext partitions?
This cwm has also no option to partition a sdcard!
My old galaxy mini with cwm 4.0.0.5 had this option.
To all memebers who want to know if both speakers work?!
No, only one speaker is working. The bottom speaker is remaining silent.
Maybe i take a look at the unofficial cm7.2 fxp115 from free xperia.

Come on dude, you can use search button to find the answer, this is development section, not q&a section
Hi,
Now me being an idiot accidentally formated th emmc in CWM Recovery! I read that this is something no one should do unless you know how to correctly partition the internal SD-Card.
Now that it is too late, could someone be please so nice and tell me how i should correctly partition the Internal SD-Card.
Can this be done completely in CWM?
I googled for a guide but had no luck at all!
I have a Galaxy SII I9100 European version! CWM Recovery 5.0.2.7
ThanxXx
Emmc is your micro sd card if stock.
Emmc is your internal sd card if cm9 or similar.
So either way its nothing to be worried.

I was using Checkrom v6. I formatted the emmc while doing a full wipe before installing cm9.
What are you asking?
What do you want to do?
Hi, I'm having this issue where the CWM nand backup of the whole system fails. I upgraded to the latest CM10 version, and still it crashes.
It goes as:
CWM-Based Recovery v6.0.1.2
SD Card space free: 26140MB
Backing up boot image...
Backing up recovery image...
Backing up system...
Freeing space... [stays rather long here]
Backing up data...
Error while making a backup image of /data!
So I dumped the log to check, and I found this:
Error while making a backup image of /data!
I:Can't partition unsafe device: /dev/block/mmcblk1p1
I:Can't format unknown volume: /external_sd

Do you have any idea of what's going on? Thank you!
Any help will be welcome!

Hmm, well the /external_sd dir doesn't exist on CM10 (or any JB ROMs for that matter). Have you tried backup to internal sd card?

Good point there. Yeah, I tried to backup to internal, having the same failure. But you´re right, /external_sd isn't supposed to be there anymore. It's just a file link, so I reckon I can remove it. Will try. But what about the previous problem? I don't know what is it referred to.

I can't back up my S3 (fw 4.1.2) to external sdcard. I choose backup to extsdcard from the backup menu in cwm 6.0.1.2 but it says 'Can't mount backup path'. Ne1 have solutions to this?
Is it formatted in fat32?
Hi Glebun, I formatted my card internally with my phone. Should I format it with FAT32?
Yes. Formatting internally on stock-ish systems will result in Fat64 which is not only incompatible with Cwm but has several issues on it's own.
You may want to try to mount the sdcard's filesystem before backing up

I flashed cwm 6.0.3.2 to my device samsung galaxy young s6312, stock android 4.1.2 jellybean, rooted, using a tutorial on xda. One of the reasons I flashed it was to create a nandroid backup. But when I try to backup my phone, it backs up boot image, recovery, system, and then it begins backing up data. After some time I got an error, "error while creating backup image of /data". Also when I rebooted my device after this, I saw that my external sd card (where the backup was getting stored) was totally full. So is this a problem with my storage?? Do I need more free space to create a nandroid backup?? Btw, I have 2 GB free memory on my external sd card. Plz guide me... Thanks...
