See if you have the power control widget in your installed widgets list. If you do, set it up to display the panel rotation button on your home screen. You can then use that button to lock the tablet in whichever orientation that you choose. If its not installed you can grab it from the market.

+1 Excellent suggestion...it's what I wanted write myself.
Thanks! I'll check it out.
Are there any ways to install another lockscreen but not by using apps (making them native, I don't like the way it works in widgetlocker app). I have root, CWM and so on
To be honest I want puzzle lockscreen like it was in Vibrant.
*Ripple lock
it's on the marked and xda .

But unfortunately this is still an app superimposed to the original home screen or lock screen (which sometimes appears...)
Also the notification bar remains visible!
Original lock screen can't be actually replaced, but only hidden.

That's why I dont like those apps.
And why are there tons of lock screen in Vibrant Roms/i9000/Captivate and difficulties with i9100? What is the principal difference?

Besides home button unlocks the screen. Even with enabled and disabled notification bar.

+1 on that!! I hate the lockscreen so much, I'm using AntiLock to disable it. Apps like WidgetLocker or RippleLock are no proper alternatives because they either unlock with the home key, or have 5 seconds limitation, show the Samsung lockscreen underneath and such.
Just like you, I wonder what's taking devs so long to come up with alternatives. Why is it more challenging on this phone than others?
Guys,
I'm using WidgetLocker and enabled the Root Helper option, and also disabled the default Lock Screen. (In Advanced menu) and also checked Disallow WL suspend.
With these setting the defualt screenlock is only displayed for 1-2 sec when I restart the phone. but that's all.
Previously I also encountered the problem that I had to unlock the WL and then the stock one but now only WL is running.
I don't like lock screen in widgetlocker and in gingerbread itself. I like puzzle one or the one from ripple lock, but it doesnt work properly
With this mod you can both modify max led light intensity and force power off to save battery.
Root access required.
You need to go, with a file explorer, here: system/etc and open this file hw_config, then search down echo 20000 > $dev/button-backlight/max_current
Modify ir to echo 1 > $dev/button-backlight/max_current and add this other line below echo 0 > $dev/button-backlight/max_brightness
Save, reboot and its done!
If instead of power off you want to set the max just leave echo 20000 > $dev/button-backlight/max_current as originally and set echo X > $dev/button-backlight/max_brightness X = 255 to 0. The default used intensity is 80 so you will notice intensity change from 80 to 0.
thanks mate!
but do you know how to make it stay on with the screen?
thanks... this is exactly what im searching for
Work fine. Thanks mate....!!!! (^.^)
It would be nice if you could have the same thing for non root users.
Do you think this would work on xperia u?...

I don't have "20000" on my Xperia S, just "2000".
Which device do you have?

dont belive that this will be possible, because it needet editing system files. even the app Adjbrightniss from the Play store needs root access to dissable the LED
no amtters 2000, 200000 nor 999999 to the max. the real max is 255 xD
This is awesome work great!!
Thank you

Xperia U users may install an app called Screen Filter to turn off the Transparent Panel.
Just unmark 'Enable soft-key backlight' and enable the app.
I've been using it, and works like a charm
P.S. Do NOT set the filter brightness to 0 %. You won't be able to see a thing, and you'll be forced to reset.

Did anyone find out how the screenfilter app disables the default lights on the Xperia U?
Would very much like to access it via shell scripting to do the same for a new upcoming LED control app...

Screen Filter doesn't really turn off the Illumination Bar. If you open up the music player, or gallery or even if you just change the theme, it lights up.
Screen Filter just turns off the soft key light characteristics, not the entire functions of Illumination Bar

I know, but the way it disables those soft-key-lights is ideal for me to suppress the normal (theme bases, non-application-bounded) light up actions.
Been trying to figure out where it does what, but still haven't found it (and dev. is not so responsive to emails..)

Hi,
I seem to have this annoying problem. Lets say I am reading an article in some app. Now my phone goes on standby after 1 minute of inactivity. In ICS, I could press the home button and get back to the app I was on. In JB pressing the home button closes the app and brings me back to home screen. Is there a way to disable that?
Yes there is. Go to settings, than developer settings, scroll down to bottom and uncheck "Destroy any activity soon as user leaves is"
Also, check background process limit. If it is set to 0 then select "Standard Limit"

My developer options were off. And none of that was checked anyways. The annoyance started when I updated to JB.
Than really i cant help you, because i dont have that problem. I also have jelly bean installed.

Oh well thanks. Hopefully someone can figure out a way to solve this problem.
Have exactly the same problem. Before Jelly Bean this didn't happen.
I guess I'll just have to get used to waking it up with the power button instead until there's a fix.
Btw I'm running stock 4.1.1.

The problem is that the lock screen has not yet activated, therefore commands are passed to the current app running. You need to use the power button to turn on the screen. Else, search thru the settings for where to change the lock screen to lock immediately the screen the screen goes off. This might help.

yes it helps.you must set the lock screen and it works.but is there any way without look screen to ?
This problem seems to be affecting those who turned off S-Voice
Just go into its setting and enable it to activate via double pressing home button. The problem then goes away in JB.
yes it works ! i have only installed s-voice apk and thats it !
I've tried 3 different watch face apps, is anyone having the same issue. Where when you set a new watch face you still have the default face show up for a split second before the new one?

Indeed, this happens to me too.
Settings/Personal/Security/Screen Lock - Set it to "none".
Thanks, that works.. I notice it took a few tries of unlocking first but then the setting took..
I haven't been able to get it to work either but I found a workaround
Download the app Shake from the Play Store. App icon is a phone with two blue arrows rotating.
Download OClock from the OStore
Disable the lock screen option from Slide to None. Found in Settings -- Personal & Accounts - Security
Open the OClock app and select a watchface
Open Shake app and configure, here's my settings
Action when shaken - Simple - Run an installed app - Selected Oclock
Sensor sensitivity 16
Check Start at phone start up
Check Active when screen is off
If you want the Omate to sleep faster after a shake to wake, change the Display timeout in Settings - Device - Display - Sleep
Hope this helps.
icon callisto 100 and ostore
just got this watch. it seems to have only one watchface on it the black and white analog. where is this ostore and how do i download new watchfaces to the watch? a link and instructions would be a great help thanks!

If you're in OUI2.0 launcher, wavy background, long press to bring up a menu. Then Add the Ostore to the homescreen.

That worked for me, thanks! Before this I was looking for a live wallpaper with clock and using Tasker to keep the screen on!
OClock Watch Faces
I can't get the watch faces in Oclock to display 12 hour time. Is there a setting I can change? Some of the watch faces that should show the date or other info just have blank spots also. TS 1/8 1900, ensec + operative root.

Not that I've found. Just that one blocky looking one. I'm not much of a fan of it.
I wish they had an API to make your own too.
I've been using the Ubuntu Launcher as my "watch face" since it shows notifications and a big digital clock on the lock screen nicely.
There are some great looking new watch faces for the sony smartwatch 2 on the playstore. Does anyone know if these will work on the truesmart, callisto or aw 414???

When I try this, when I use shake, it does not show me the selected face. Instead, it brings me to the oclock faces selection page again. Any ideas?
Could anyone be so nice and post the Oclock app apk here? I would like to use it on my ZGPax. Or even better, the OStore, if it's compatible. Much appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
Edit: Nevermind, got them myself. Both work with no problems.
themes? and 12 hr mode?
I select the "Grandmaster" with the carbon fiber theme watch face. When I turn on the watch it reverts back to the default "grandmaster" Any way to save the carbon fiber grandmaster as default? Is there way to change to 12 hour mode and not use 24 hour mode?
Thanks

How do you change the different themes? I tried swiping in all directions, each clock only has on option. Come to think of it, I swear there was a pong clock shown in one of the videos months ago...
Edit: Oh, I needed the Oclock app. Except I can't use any as my lock screen, it says I need to purchase it?
I wasn't satisfied with any of the watch faces available, so I ended up disabling the lockscreen and adding another home screen to my launcher (I'm using ADW), installed UCCW and Zooper Widget, and added a full screen widget with time, date, weather and battery status. After testing a few widgets I settled for Iridescent UCCW, but there are many good alternatives like Primium or Square Clock.
I just need now a way to disable the touchscreen without turning it off.
