So guys, please help me with 2 issues:
1. Radio FM apk for Xperia P. Every process of installing it is finished with communicate "Could not instal."
So I put the apk file at SD card and trying to intstall it. Is this good way?
2. I made few folders on my home screen. So there are small icons (4 or less in each) inside this folders. The issue is, that Xperia shows only icons of apps that are on telephone memory, not SD card. SD card's are grety.
What is more - when I open folder everythin is fine, I can see all apps from folder. What is more the way to have those tiny icons in home screen is: open folder, push one app from folder til bin icon is shown, release it, go back - than one folder icons are shown. It is not a big problem, but I prefer to fix it.
Flash the flashable zip of the radio in CWM of copy it to /system/app with rw r r permissions. Idk about xperia home

Hi guys,
I am currently using Ginger Blur 4.x but have been using this p-roms since 1.x one thing that I dislike about them is the change to the gallery app. The default gallery that ships with the atrix works better for me. Is there any way to restore it?
Specifically what is not working well is the way the Gallery stores pictures. I have many pictures saved on my device and when I snap a new picture I sometimes want to preview it right away but the Gallery neither lets me jump right to the picture shown in the frame on the camera nor does it allow me to change the order by which they are presented in the gallery which means in order for me to quickly look at a picture I just took I need to hit the gallery and scroll all the way to the right every time. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Ack just found the answer in the original thread for Ginger Blur.
Instructions as to how I did this:
-Download the Bloatware.zip from http://briefmobile.com/gingerblur-rom-for-atrix-4g
-Unpack the files
-Plug in your phone to usb on your computer
-set it to USB Mass storage mode
-Navigate to System/App from within the extracted folder structure.
-Copy the MediaGallery .apk file
-Paste it to your SDCard
-Unplug your phone
-Using a program like Rootexplorer navigate to your sd card and copy the mediagallery.apk (long press on the file in Rootexplorer)
-From your home directory in root explorer navigate to System/App
-Press the button at the top of root explorer that says mount R/W
-Paste the mediagallery.apk here
-Scroll down and find Gallery3d.APK and delete it
-Reboot your phone
Congratulations !
Thanks all
Thanks for this. The stock gallery is complete crap. it looks nice, but no editing, nor does it work most of the time.
no problem, I am a bit of a newb to android (the atrix is my first droid) so wading into this from very rough directions was something of a guessing game for me. While trying to figure it out I was really wishing someone had outlined the (admittedly simple) steps.
hy to all
Guys if you are new users and change themes files and remain safe then do like i describe other wise your Xperia arc can be on a boot-loop and restart it self
X theme pack the Original thread is here, you can download it from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137329
Method how to apply..............
1) first copy all those files and keep a backup of them in SD card, which you are going to replace from your System folder in this TUTORIAL
so that in future you can resore the orignal one if you want
2) Requirments:
2.1) your phone should be rooted
2.2) busybox installed
2.3) root explorer installed
here are three kind of themes Blue, Green, Red
you can download them from original thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137329
All the theme folder have three files inside them
a) framework-res.apk (you will find this file in system\framework)
b) SemcGenericUxpRes.apk (you will find this file in system\framework)
c) SystemUI.apk (you will find this file in system\app)
first of all copy all files into sd card
*** steps ***
1) first of all open root explorer open system and copy all your orignal three file you are going to replace and paste then in a folder in sd card, for example i make a new folder with the name (Orignal backup files )in my SD card and i paste my all orignal apps there you can do it by
go to system folder now you will see a boton on the top ( Remount as R/W ) tab on it now it will be like this ( Remount as R/O ) done, now you can copy your system apps
2) now go into SD card you will see a boton on the top ( Remount as R/W ) tab on it now it will be like this ( Remount as R/O ) done.
************Remember you shoud be tab this botton in both placec System folder and SD card***************
3) now copy framework-res.apk from theme folder you want to apply and paste it in system first now long tab on it, it will pop up a window tab on permissions you will see a box like this
............Read.....Write....Execute
User.......Yes.......Yes........-
Group......Yes........-..........-
Others.....Yes........-..........-
Select only those which i select in this Picture
now move it to system\framework
4) Do not exit your root explorer and do same with the file SemcGenericUxpRes.apk
copy SemcGenericUxpRes.apk from theme folder and paste it in system first now loang tab on it, it will pop up a window tab or permissions and set them like you did with first file
and move it to system\framework
***************** now exit Root explorer and reboot your device ********************
after phone is on go to root explorer and copy the last file name SystemUI.apk
again Copy it to system tab on it select the permissions like describe uper picture
and paste it to system\app
***************** now exit Root explorer and reboot your device ********************
Done
HOW TO GET BACK ON ORIGINAL THEME :
it is the same methord you did like uper but a little tricky
copy your origaln files now instead of custom theme files but in this order
now this time copy the third file first name SystemUI.apk
Copy it to system tab on it select the permissions like describe uper and paste it to system\app
***************** now exit Root explorer and reboot your device ********************
after on copy and paste the secound and first file named
SemcGenericUxpRes.apk
framework-res.apk
Copy it to system tab on it select the permissions like describe uper and paste it to system\framework
***************** now exit Root explorer and reboot your device ********************
Do same like this other wise you will break your phone software and it will go on a bootloop, i did it with my phone
then i again flash my phone with flash tool and update it through OTA... very loag method to do it...
takes a lot of time
Regards MR. Zohaib Tariq
You need to remove root explorer, paid apps can't be posted.

Hi all
I'm very interested to apply one of the x-themes WITHOUT changing my own Lockscreen (official one)! How can I do that?
Thanks lot
In fact, all I desire, is battery pourcentage + network signal + wifi signal on red color
Hello Guys!!!!!!!
Take a look at my neo v.
I've tweaked a few of my system files and this is the outcome.
You may try it out.
The rar file contains
1. DefaultThemes.apk
2. SystemUI.apk
3. Home.apk
Download both the rar files first and then extract them in your PC.
Then copy the files to your sd card and disconnect phone from PC.
You need root explorer for this to work.
Copy the files to /system
Then Change permissions to rw,r,r
Now move them to /system/app and overwrite the system apps
Reboot.
If you like it press the thanks button.
nice
i made my own themes too, actually 2
check my sign
Hi All,
First off, I apologize if this has been covered in another thread. I've done a lot of searching for the answer to this and never found it.
I use CraigTut's Jellybean Fusion along with Faux's kernel as my daily driver, but I prefer the HQCamera and the HTC Gallery to the installed camera/Gallery combo (AOSP I think ???). But when I installed HQCamera, the rom retained the AOSP gallery and the camera and gallery didn't work well together, so for example I couldn't open the gallery by tapping the gallery icon in the camera screen. Finally, I prefered the sense gallery as it is two columns in width.
To solve this I found the following workaround. Sorry it's newbish but I don't know how to mod the flashable zip file yet and didn't need to for this exercise. Likewise, if there is another easier way, please feel free to post it.
1) (This step is to get the files are in the attachment HtcAlbumAPKs.zip) I already had the Stocked Amaze Deodexed rom on my computer and I extracted all files to a new folder. Most (if not all) other stock roms will work.
2) (The following files are in the attachment HtcAlbumAPKs.zip) Navigate to \system\app in the Stocked Amaze Deodexed rom and copied two files out of it a) HtcAlbumMapView.apk and b) HTCAlbumTMO.apk.
3) Extract HtcAlbumMapView.apk and HTCAlbumTMO.apk from the attached zip, HtcAlbumAPKs.zip, and place in your sdcard
4) Place HQ-Camera in the same place.
5) Using root explorer navigate to \system\app and delete the camera and gallery apks.
6) Using root explorer go to your sd card and copy HtcAlbumMapView.apk and HTCAlbumTMO.apk (menu, multi-select, tap two file names, copy)
7) Navigate to \system\app and paste the two files
8) Change permissions for each of the two files to match the other files in that folder. Using root explorer push down on file name until the menu popps up, select permissions and check only the following: the three in the left (read) column and the top one in the center (write) column. Uncheck any others that are checked and tap ok.
9) Boot into recovery and install attached HQ Camera from its location on your sdcard.
10) Wipe Cache + Dalvik Cache
11) Reboot and the HQ camera and gallery should be playing nice!
This works well for me on JB Fusion.
Cheers!
I have a Sony Xperia J, and the performance and among others are excellent, but I have a problem due to my own stupidity in using others product memory card loader and screw-up the whole system.
Basically I didn't brick my device it still boot perfectly but the problem is, after boot-up it will shows the error message "Unfortunately, com.sonyericsson.usbux has stopped" = PC can't recognize my device anymor and my device won't recognize the internal and external card anymore.
Is there anyone can help me step by step on how to edit the '\system\ect\vold.fstab' and replace the content of that file, then I think this will solve the problem.
The problem arise when I replaced the file '\system\ect\vold.fstab' with froyo edited version.
Thanks in advance,
Aavatar(a.k.a. Paul Tsen)
You should try replacing the vold.fstab with the stock one. Extract it from a stock ftf for your phone

I have the stock vold.fstab, I've backed up but I can't replace the file cause the \System\ect\ folder are read only and I can't even copy the stock vold.fstab into my device. Any suggestion on how to copy the stock vold.fstab back to the \system\ect\?
Thanks in advance.

For your info 'SOLID EXPLORER' does not have any root access and cannot edit protected folder file so can't do anything, but anyhow I've send back my device to Sony Center for RMA and just get back a new replacement, thanks for the reply anyway.
For an advice, next time anyone that wanted to edit or replace the vold.fstab file, copy to root and rename it to vold.fstab.bak so that if you screw up you still can use the root explorer to copy it back to the /system/ect/ folder.

Now I have a much safer solution for this, I use 2 apps(DirectoryBind and Link2SD both need root access) in order to achieve everything.
1. Partition your External SD Card for use with Link2SD(for my case I'm using a 16gb Class 10 SD Card 1st partition takes whatever space and
leave 1gb for 2nd Partition Primary and format = FAT32)
2. Install Link2SD(from PlayStore) and assign the 2nd partition(make sure you have root access).
3. Check the Auto Link in Link2SD Preference
4. Select External in Install Location(Link2SD)
5. Install DirectoryBind,
6. Create a folder name Bind(or whatever you like to call it) for placing all the bind folders.
7. Create a another folder called 'android' inside 'Bind' folder eg:- /Bind/android/ (for PlayStore Apps Data)
8. Create another folder called 'Gameloft' (if you intended to install gameloft games) and create another 'Gameloft' folder in Internal Storage
9. Now add the External SD Card /Bind/android/ to Source (Data) Path at DirectoryBind and Internal Storage Android /SDCard/android/ to
Mount (target) path, check the 'Transfer files from target to data' (if the source android folder isn't empty) and press Add.
10. Do step 9 with Gameloft folder
11. Select Bind all checked to activate
12. Do the same step 9 for all others apps that create own forlder in internal storage such as Sygic create 'Aura' Folder in your internal storage.
Now you are done and any apps from Playstore or Gameloft the default apps will be linked(placed) in Ext SD Card 2nd partition and Data to Ext SD Card Bind folder
Have fun!!!!!
Sony Xperia J Widgets Removing Problems
I have experienced an hair splitting problem to remove short cuts and widgets from Home screen.
The herculean task never shown any results so far. If this gadget is meant for only computer wizards
why the hell the sell it for the common man ! This is impossible for any user. Only the creator can
solve the entangled knots. They should not have sent this model to show cases for public. Please
help if any egg- head can solve it...
