Ok guys i found a big problem with battery in xperia sp ! Batter battery stats showed a process called *backup* running all the time in partial wakelocks ! Well i can also say that in 5 hours 7 percent o battery were consumed ! If you have this problem go to settings-backup and reset and uncheck everything ! Then reboot your phone and put in charge untill its 100% leave it there for 1-2 hours
magicaly my android system process from 65% dropped to 30 % (sometimes less)
good luck
That is most likely the backup function from Google. It will create some list with the latest apps installed so that after a reset or reflash the apps will be installed automaticly.
There is no Android System in my list so that is or may not be your cause.

dude this 63 percent and after unchecking backup it went 30 percent and better battery stats sayd a process called backup wass consuming the battery !
Dude, it is perhaps an idea to upgrade to 4.3
And man. 11 hours and 36 minutes. You lost 12% charge only. This means that the only thing that would drain battery most is Android system because it means you barely used screen or apps. It's common sense. So it's no surprise your android system consumed so much

because in fact that android System process is the very first process that android will start compared to regular apps/system apps ,thus it is also the first one you'll see taking much battery percentage in battery stats specially if the phone is fully charged then you pulled out the charger, the battery stats will reset and it will detect which eats most of the battery at that very moment which is obviously the system process, and you'll notice battery drain percentage will change depends on how you use your phone..
for example on the first 5 minutes the android system will take that 83% of battery consumption, the Media is 10%, Cell Stand-bye is 2%, Google Services is in the remaining 5% thus totalling to 100%, but if you play on the next minute (says Asphalt 8) for a few minutes..it will varies accordingly.. The Android System process is cut down to 62%,Media is 12%.Cell Standbye is 2%,Google Services is 8%, Screen is 6%,Asphalt 8 gets the remaining 10% of course totalling to 100%.
If your not using your phone that much then you will always see that android system is the one that eats most of the battery as it is the only heavy process running (compared to MEDIA & Cell Standbye,it is alwasy present)..
LOGIC??the battery drain percentage is a dynamic measurements of whats eating battery at that very the moment and it will varies depends on how you will use your phone the next minute, the percentage per app is the total of drained battery not the whole battery charge. Say for example you've got a charge of 85% left in your battery, The 100% total measurement of per app battery consumed percentage is that of 15% drained in your total full charge of 100%.
Edit: a detailed overview of what @Sadman Khan says.

Hey everyone,
So am an X10 user for a year now, but recently am facing an issue with the battery...well the phone's temperature rises up to 50 degrees celcius, which is burning hot... this ofcourse kills the battery in 2-3 hours from 100% to 0 i had to charge it 3 times in 12 hours .
My usage is as follows:
- Bluetooth on
- Wifi, GPS, 3g off (occasionally turned on)
- Apps killed, just a few are running in the background (where i make sure that the memory has 100MB min free)
- Screen timeout 30 sec
I cannot find the reason y the phone heats up like that.
Anyone facing the same problem or has a solution for that??
Thanks
Do a full reinstall with SEUS. And then take a look at which apps drains your battery by installing all apps manually etc...
Yeah and if that doesn't work just go to xrecovery and wipe the battery stats then charge your phone to 100 percent. Make sure your phone is fully charged when you wipe the battery stats though

Well, i have been trying a technique for a few days now and i think its working.
So i leave the battery till it totally dies then i leave the phone closed and charge it for like 8 - 10 hours, i did that for few times, and to my amazement, the battery life increased a lot.
Well done.. i think i said this before.. and alot of guys fobbed me off.
I have the stock 4.5.9 gingerbread update on my AT&T ATRIX. However I am observing a terrible battery life. There are too many solutions in the forum to follow. Can someone direct me to the appropriate one? I am rooted and unlocked. I used the unlocked 4.5.9 sbf for upgrading from from Froyo to gingerbread 2.3.4

there;s a lot of solutions because poor battery life can be cause by many things, you have to find out what is draining your battery. try calibrating first let it drain until your phone turns off and then if you have cwm install then wipe batterystats and then a full uninterrupted charge
Try setting profiles in SetCPU and freezing apps with TitaniumBackup. Theres a topic for each of these two solutions.
battery stats 6h 3m 29s on battery (now left with 10% of battery)
Display 49%
Phone Idle 22%
Cell standby 6%
Android system 5%
Launcherpro 3%
xda 3%
Android OS 3%
this is just terrible .. i never had such battery life with Froyo. i dont understand what might be the problem. Meanwhile i will try to calibrate my battery.

Calibrate your battery.
Then freeze your bloat.
Problem solved.
dont forget you might also being playing with your phone a lot more trying to see all the new stuff in the update. Thus causing more battery drain.

There are some strange things happening with the battery. I let my battery discharge completely to the point where phone shuts down. Then I plugged in to charger, waited for 2-3 minutes so that I can start the phone. Started the phone and saw 50% battery. Don't know what's going on.
I was told by an admin from another site that most of the battery programs do not work with ova ginbread. You go to settings/about/status and observe the battery. I do no I was also getting flaky results with 2 of the battery programs.

That's a GB bug... there's a battery fix in the development section to flash which deals with the reboot battery jumping. (turn off phone at 50%, turn on phone and it says 70%)
I am having problems with my Atrix too. With my usage, I used to be able to get almost 3 days of battery life. Now it hardly lasts a day. I have checked pretty much all settings (sync, sleep) and all seems fine as far as I'm concerned. So I am having hard time trying to find what is causing this. The only suspect I have right now is wifi. I don't think wifi is sleeping even though I've selected "When screen turns off" in the sleep policy.
i am using my mobile for 2 months but there was no problem in past but now its making battery problem
Android Os Usage is 25 % and Android System is also 25%
So times Android OS usage will 8-10 percent otherwise 25% all the time
i have tried:
Changing Os Version
Factory Reset ETC ETC
BetterBatteryStats
Install BetterBatteryStats and find out what processes are draining your battery.

was facing the same issues.. for me it turned out to be Google latitude, signed out of it and now its back to normal
My DNA battery has gone crazy. Last night the battery was at 66%, I restarted it and the battery went up to 76%. Today, the battery was at 33%, I rebooted it and the battery dropped to 17%. After that I rebooted it again to see if it would go back up and it dropped to 14%. So I did it one last time and that battery then went up to 24%. I dont get it and on top of that my battery life has been terrible recently.
To try to extend it I have installed Lux to manage the screen brightness, I have turned off backup and Google Location Service.
I got Nova Launcher yesterday to see if that helps, I'm using Greenify to close apps and CleanMaster to get rid of junk. I dont use Google Now or have any apps sync/receive notifications besides Messages and Phone. I can't get through the day and I don't use my phone from 7am to 12 in the afternoon.
I have 25 apps installed from Google Play and all the bloatware and useless apps disabled. I use Next Browser instead of Stock/Chrome
Any solutions or suggestions

Maybe just try to do full cycles with the batter to re-calibrate it, charge it up 100%+ and drain it 99%, rinse/repeat a few times.

Ive read that you arent supposed to drain the battery and this phone is unpredictable for when it will turn off from a low battery.
Sometimes it turns off at 8%, sometimes it might turn off at 2%

You're right about draining the battery however we cannot fully drain these batteries. The system shuts the phone down when it hits a certain level, however you can still power the device back on after it does this, thus the battery still has charge and not fully drained.
And yes they can be unpredictable.
Mine will shut down when it gets to about 5 percent but I was using it one time and it went from 8 to 2 in a second and powered itself down. I think they all act weird when they get really low but your issue sounds like the battery is on its last leg.

According to your battery stats, what's draining the battery the most? Also download GSam battery stats to get a more detailed look at the apps and services that are consuming battery.
Maybe your battery is past its prime, but you want to be sure its not an app or service draining things before giving up.
My Droid 3 and 4 are still going strong as long as I charge them fully and then periodically drain them to 10%.

As you are saying that your mobile seems "hot"
First you need to confirm that its charger/device issue or only with battery.
First do battery calibration with this method: (In this method you need custom recovery for your device
This may help you

Dont forget to thank him there on his thread.
IMPORTANT: You can skip this step>> "Wait 20 min after you are sure it is 100% (phone should stay plugged in)" - As i dont know much about LG devices and their batteries
Now some advice from me-
If you can cover it >>> Never charge battery again and again before 15 or 20%
Always charge your battery to 100% at once and use your device till 15% or less than 15% and then again charge it full and so on...
This will make your battery backup good as well for battery life

According to the Battery Doctor app, you shouldn't leave your phone on charge for more than 9-10 hours(MAX), otherwise it WILL harm your battery.
You should try hibernating some of those apps with Greenify.

Use better battery stat (check play store) or similar app to track draining application.
In this way you can find a culprit

Yes, over charge can reduce battery life.
