QMobile A600 (Micromax A116) A Little Help Please - Micromax A116

I am XDA Forum user having QMobile A600 (Micromax A116). I got my devices rooted through the software provided.
I have super user right, installed ROM Manager & TWRP. But when I try to install any recovery, It boots & gives an error sign (picture 1) & if I press power button. It loads stock recovery option. Factory Reset, Dalvik, Cache & Data not wiped. No ROM gets installed. I rooted my device through mt6589_rooter software available online.
Help please, nothing happening for me. It doesnt install or recover any thing. I am not even able to back up stock ROM through TWRP.

This is stock recovery.......not twrp
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

That is what I meant. Whatever I do. It loads stock recovery & does nothing. No flashing at all. I have used ROM Manager, CWM & TWRP, all that loads is stock recovery.

Thanks Dear
I rooted my device through mt6589_rooter & checked through many software (Root Checker, SuperUser etc).
I downloaded & installed CWM, ROM Manager & TWRP from play store. All of them show me rooted. Yea, you are right I haven't installed any custom recovery. Just want to first backup my stock ROM before flashing any custom rom. But nothing is happening for me. Whenever I try to to backup or apply any update, it boots me to stock recovery, nothing happens. Another thing, both show my device not listed / supported (QMobile Noir A600)
The link you provided is invalid. I have searched the forum, it provides version 2.x.x. I have installed CWM, TWRP both are 5.x.

So I should assume, I'm not going to get any Support?

Root your device using Farmaroot App then install latest TWRP v2.7.0.0 via MobileUncle MTK Tools App !! After this flash any desired ROM..

Did install the App.
Possible case once application is launched:
1. A popup saying "Your device seems not vulnerable to exploit included in Framaroot", in this case you can uninstall app
2. You seeing one or more exploit name, also click on one after you have selected an action and you will see one of the above messages.
Unfortunately got the first message & App closes. Not happening for me

Try using this app on A116 stock ROM...Flash it via SP Tools !!!

Don't have any SP Tool. I've QMobile (Pakistan) same like MicroMax (India). CWM/TWRP show not supported. No SP Tool. Titanium Backup not helping. Either no support for QMobile or I'm too dumb. I guess case is 2nd one.
Anyhow thanks guys but I might stick to stock ROM & leave custom ROM

Sorry for late reply i lost my device...:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: and wrong link
Yup that,s the problem bro no great support or services are provided for these devices to automatically install recoveries and flashing these devices using SP tool is a pain in *** try sideloading using adb tools i havent tried was going to do but lost the device.
Search about it on xda
android recovery 3 is also good if you dont want to flash custom rom
use adaway or freedom app and other great apps to get the best of root.
Thanks
Do tell me if that worked or if you came with a new method.

Press Thanks if my time saved yours..

Tried to sound smart, bricked my mobile. It was in warranty. The company repaired and charged nothing. Not going to brick it again.
I think my flashing days are over

Read article above. So after I install I will have to root phone Again? It is rooted now. The reason I want CWM is so I can back up OS on phone unless you have a better way.
CWM or any custom recovery like TWRP (whatever is available for your device) is the best way to backup. If you're already rooted, you won't need to again unless you restore to stock. Flashing a custom recovery doesn't affect the ROM in any way.
As an alternative method of backup, you can use 'adb backup' (read about it) but it's more complicated. Custom recovery is the best.

No Rom Manager says Galaxy S3 not worked with it yet when you click to flash CWM.
Then look in the Galaxy S3 forum specific to your model (unlocked/carrier variant). There are usually guides and toolkits for everything from rooting to flashing ROMs to restoring to stock, made specifically for new and inexperience users. You'll easily find a way to flash recovery there.
Ok, just had a look, recoveries are indeed directly flashable to your phone. You don't *need* Odin, although it can be flashed that way too. In any case, if ROM Manager isn't working for you for whatever reason, flash TWRP recovery. TWRP = TeamWin Recovery Project. It's a much better and more useful recovery than CWM. Follow the link below to find TWRP recovery along with installation instructions for international Galaxy S3 (unlocked version) -
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/114
If you have a carrier variant, choose your device correctly from the list in the TWRP website - http://teamw.in/twrp_view_all_devices

Xperia U; CWM probs

Hello,
I'm kind of a newbie at rooting phones. I've upgraded my xperia u to ICS before rooting.
I've unlocked bootloader, rooted the phone successfully & i've also flashed CWM recovery v5.5xx.
I have done a factory reset recently when my mobile was eating up a lot of ram. Does it remove or corrupt CWM? cos i'm unable to access recovery while booting the phone, i'm only getting access into recovery is by flashtool & even then, when i press "install zip from sdcard", it says mounting error & is unable to access the sd card.
What have I done wrong? Am I missing any step towards flashing a kernel or a custom rom?
please help
(I only want to speed up mobile operations, especially camera.)

I found a bat file & installed cwm recovery & its working perfectly. Thank you.
Now, all i need is a custom rom or a speedy kernel to speed up my daily operations (at least other than camera)
Please suggest me a custom rom, I've searched few of them & liked miui but someone commented that whatsapp doesn't work in that custom rom, that app is quite imp for me, so please suggest a rom which is faster than the stock rom & every essential app works.
Thanks in advance
Cheers!

ok, so if i installed miui rom or any other rom & decided that i didn't like it. To come back to stock, do I just have to go to cwm & press restore/advanced restore or do i have to do the same procedure like download the stock rom, put it into sdcard & via cwm install it?
P.S. I've already made a nandroid backup, also from titanium backup & all my data is on my sdcard

If you want to revert back to stock and you have made backup of stock from cwm than just use backup and restore to the same....
If you feel the need to install a fresh copy of stock you can download latest firmware and install using flashtool....

Ok i think since cwm not yet officially released for our device ROM manager is saying so.
If you want to install CWM only from ROM manager i cant help but if you just want to install CWM through even other ways i can help you.
You can install CWM with mobile uncle tools.
This is a forum thread on how to root + install cwm .

Nothing Will Happen And If U Do A Install Then U Can Brick Ur Mobile So Its Better U Install It VIa Mobile Uncle Tool
Mobile Uncle Tool - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox&hl=en
CWM - http://d-h.st/qVI
Now how to install CWM recovery?
1) Place the CWM image in the root of your sd card. Now what is Root , root layer is the top most layer. That is just open the SD card and place it there itself do not place it inside a folder or sub folder only then mobile uncle tool can recognize it.
2) Install mobile uncle tools.
3) Open Mobile uncle tools and select the option Recovery update.
Now you'll see the file you placed in your sd card ,now click it and then click ok. Now it will ask "boot into recovery mode" click yes and now you are in CWM recovery!
Note: If you have connected to internet while doing this you may get loads of other options after clicking recovery update don't worry just click the one you placed in sd card. verify the name twice.
Do It In This Way You Wont Have Any Problem For More Details Visit This Thread

[Q] CWM without Root

Hi guys.
Few days back I purchased Canvas A110Q (Canvas 2 plus)
Its om jelly beans 4.2.1 so all the methods posted here for rooting it failed as there is no space in system folder. So i have few questions which I think some experienced peoples can answer. I wanted to ask:
1)Can I install CWM without rooting my Canvas A110Q
2) Can I install rooted rom without rooting my Canvas A110Q?
If yes then how can we do the same.
Please answer my questions, I am eagerly waiting to root my phone.
Thanks

Actually these days canvas 2 plus comes with version 2 ROM, so all the methods provided to root this device fails because in this rom there is no space in the systems folder i suppose thats why when we tries to root it, it always gets failed because su does'nt gets pushed in system folder.
So I wanted to flash pre rooted rom or downgrade it to version 1 rom but need steps of doing the same via flash tool or any other way.

[Q] Can't access recovery

Hi im hoping someone can help me.
I rooted my phone using the easy root method, I had philz dual recovery and flashed a rom. I installed superSU from the play store (when I should have flashed it) and now I can't access my recovery. I've tried rerooting and reflashing using all three methods for installing the recovery and none are working. Does anyone have a solution to this, I've got a backup of my stock rom etc. but I cant access it or recover it without a recovery. Im pretty much lost on this, I posted in the recovery thread but it didnt get answered.

heres the link for NUTs download page, http://nut.xperia-files.com/ file your looking for is
Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.7.129-BETA.installer.zip (10.59MB)
this appears to be the latest version and is 17th link from the bottom of the right hand list
the flashable zip is just left of the installer
It should mean if u install a new rom and lose recovery just run the installer from windows and it should give u back recovery

Thanks, unfortunately thats what I have been using to try and regain recovery. Any other ideas? Im really struggling, I thought maybe if I unrooted and just re-rooted correctly it might help but I can't find an FTF file for my network I can only find unbranded which I very much doubt would work.
anyone?
I'm in the exact same position. I flashed monx 438 rom and I don't know what happened, I can't get into recovery either. I'm on unlocked bootloader. I have tried flashing the boot.img from 438 advanced stock kernel but at the command prompt it keeps on saying waiting for device. I have root access.
Same here.
I have a stock .402 ROM, unlocked bootloader and rooted. Have flashed the recovery a few times, and still cant get into it. Even when trying to access recovery via cmd prompt "adb reboot recovery"
I too am in the same boat... I rooted my phone, primarily to add the kitkat sd card fix, which works...
Then I went through the motion of unlocking bootloader, which I assume worked cos it wiped my phone clean. Had to reinstall everything...
Then I went through the motion of installing Cwm recovery. This went through OK. Well according to the command prompt it did.
But still I can't access recovery. I get no flashing LED lights before the Sony logo comes up, and then it just boots into normal phone mode.
I am on UK 3 network if it makes any difference......
I'd really love to be able to access my recovery cos I'm dying to apply the dual speaker and volume hack....
Don't know where to go from here..........
Just to add, I flashed to firmware 402 (uk unbranded) and re-rooted the phone and re-installed cwm recovery, but I get no led lights and no recovery mode. Oh well, just like a number one hit for 'the who', it was never meant to be....lol
sorry to resurrect but I have the same issue. how did you guys get back into recovery
I use a kernel with recovery
Vol up - cwm
Vol down - twrp
Cam key - philz
I can't flash kernol because I can't get into recovery even using the app to force boot
