I Odin'd the MJ9 radio some time ago and have been able to flash 4.3 custom ROMS based on that radio with no issues at all. The problem comes when I try ANY 4.4 ROM. The ROM and Gapps flash and install with no issue. However, I don't have data or voice connectivity. I'll go into APN settings and it's blank. I've tried manually entering the values, but the changes won't stick. As a point of reference, I'm running the MJ9 radio with TWRP 2.6.3.0 as my recovery.
Ideas?
Use philz or cwm for flashing the 4.4 roms

Where are you getting the 4.4 roms? Just make sure you are flashing ones for our device i605..
Only other suggestion I can make is making sure mobile network is toggled on..
You shouldn't loose data if you are flashing the proper rom
ROMs are all coming from this very forum. I never occurred to me to check the mobile network, because it's never been an issue with any of the other ROMs I've used.

Hey guys, I'm not new to rooting or flashing ROM's but I've encountered some issues. Basically, I was on an early JB Rom and everything was working fine but it mostly was in roaming and would go from 2-4 signal bars.
I backed up and have attempted to flash:
PACman
MIUI 2.11.23
As well as CM10 by joker and AOKP CM 10.
Every flash I end up with no signal bars and no roaming, also following all install instructions in the threads.
I have tried flashing with and without prop tweak, i have even restored the backup all with the same results:
Empty signal bars, occasional R for roaming, every call says mobile network unavailable.
I have also fixed permissions, and have tried to flash via TH3Bill CWM and TWRP recovery... what am I doing wrong? The backup isin't even working!
I wouldn't know off hand, but here's something you can try while waiting for a more professional member to come to the rescue.
System Settings> More>Mobile Networks>System select>Home only
What's your current PRL, APNs?
if it was me I'd sbf back to stock and see if I had signal then go back and try a custom rom again

Before sbf'ing if you have a back up of your stock ROM or any ROM that has the update profile/prl setting in it, restore that back up and try updating your profile/prl then wipe/flash your new ROM.
I usually have this problem when I switch back to my Photon from my ET4G, but updating the profile usually does the trick.
When I restored my old backup, I had the same problem. The only fix I could find was on MIUI and selecting automatic netowrk before flashing options chooser. Any other rom would make no changes on automatic or home only. I am going to try a fresh install and if no luck will sbf today. I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks!
**EDIT** Does it matter if I use Th3Bill's CWM recovery or TWRP? I have tried both with similar results. I jut noticed CWM is usually posted with the ROM builds... does it makes a difference? If so, what should I use?
Normally both work just fine, as long as you're using one of those two
I spent too much time flashing roms and wondering why they wouldn't work right, when I was using the stock CWM
I think It's just my opinion but I have preference for bill's cwm
Having this exact same problem. Did anyone figure it out?
No Radio/Signal
I recently flashed the latest MIUI.US V5 3.4.5 for the Photon provided by Th3Bill. I am familiar with the process of applying ROMs. I tried to go back to Beanstalk, JB, and ICS and could not recover the radio signal. I even restored a few backups with the same result, no signal. I flashed the MIUI V5 3.4.5 ROM back to the Photon and it worked flawlessly. Can anyone please help? I would really like to get off the MIUI ROM, it does not appeal to me like the standard versions of Jelly Bean that Th3Bill has produced.
Hello there,
I'm having some frustration issues lately with any AOSP ROM
I recently began to notice that mobile data refused to work (it only worked once on the first setup where you choose your language, etc.), after flashing a new kitkat rom. I also noticed that my phone could not hold a stable wifi connection with any router.
No amount of rebooting or turning airplane mode on/off would do anything, so I decided to flash my previous ROM that I was using earlier with no issues, and to my surprise, found it was also having this issue.
Thinking it was a hardware issue, I reverted back to stock using an RUU, and everything worked perfectly. Mobile data, wifi, everything.
I tried flashing an AOSP Rom after unlocking for a second time, and just like previously mobile data didn't work, but after flashing any stock based rom like Venom ROM, it does. Any suggestions?
TL;DR: My Droid DNA's mobile data and wifi suddenly only works on stock-based roms, even after a running an RUU
The ROM I updated to was: Omnirom 4.4.1
The ROM I had previously was: Carbon Rom 4.3.1
The ROMs with working data: Venom, stock, and everything else based off of stock.
Thanks in advance :good:

I would suggest you to flash a radio. If that doesn't work back up any data and flash any stock based rom including stock recovery. Once it is flashed let it boot and then factory restore in bootloader this will repair any radio partition.

Worked for me even on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Thank you!
EDIT: Please ignore - it's an issue w/ the latest CM11 build. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50349901&postcount=1789
I need some guidance - I'm one of the early S4 owners that's LOKI'd w/ TWRP recovery. I've been running the MDK modem since I got it but decided a couple days ago to update it to take advantage of the faster LTE (Band 4?) if/when it's available. I flashed the most recent I545VRUEMK2 radio with no problem and have been running if for a few days. ( Modem only link from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487298 )
I'm on the CM11 Nightly ROM and this morning tried to update the the most recent, the first attempt at flashing a ROM since updating the modem. After flashing I can't boot and instead get the Verizon error screen saying I have unauthorized software and to bring the phone to a VZW store.
I can still boot to recovery, and after reflashing the nightly I had been running previously was able to boot back up, but I was under the impression LOKI'd phones can use any of the modems and continue flashing ROMs.
What's going on here? Do I need to go back to MDK?
Thanks for any help!
EDIT: Just had a thought - would the recovery version have anything to do with this? I know that the CM threads say that TWRP has compatibility issues and to use CWM, but I've never had an issue using TWRP when I was running the MDK modem. Does CWM handle post flash cleanup somehow to force ROM compatibility?
Due to instability issues in the latest nightlies, I clean flashed and reverted back to CM11 milestone 5. After doing this, I haven't been able to get mobile data. Voice and sms work fine, just "mobile network state disconnected" and no data connectivity. Also after flashing back to M5, "Phone" seems to prevent the device from sleeping. In battery stats, the device is always awake, with "Phone" using the majority of the batter.
I've tried re-flashing CM11 M5 multiple times, I've also flashed different modems, and I've also called AT&T to reset my internet connectivity. Nothing has worked thus far. Any suggestions? :good:
UPDATE/SOLUTION:
I got mobile data back by going back to stock, clean flashing AOKP (which works with mobile data), then dirty flash to CM11. Quite unorthodox, probably not the best solution, but it's the only 'fix' that has worked!!
I've tried many other suggestions, such as the "patched" modems & kernels, to no avail. Finally this works, dreams do come true
UPDATE: I tried ODINing back to stop 4.3 ROM, on which data was working again. However, upon flashing back to CM11, data stopped working once again. I tried flashing AOKP, which *did* get data back, so I'm assuming this is a CM11-exclusive problem.
I really don't know how the CM11 data problem persisted even after flashing back to stock and then re-flashing CM11. What could've gone wrong? Anyways, I guess I'm sticking to AOKP for the time being.

Have you got a link to the rom - any issues with Wi-Fi or 3G/Mobile Data? This CM 11 rom I have is awesome but it's a pain that the 3G/Mobile data just doesn't work at all.

Did you install the patched kernel/modem while on stock ROM or on a custom ROM?

Got the 4.3 stock ROM from sammobile then installed the kernel and modem from TWRP recovery - haven't tried a custom ROM yet but I presume it'd work in the same way

I've been rooting my phones since getting my first HTC Incredible, so while I am certainly not an expert, I have a bit of experience researching rooting methods and roms and flashing and recoveries before getting my hands dirty. Now I'm in over my head.
I've had my G3 rooted since December, but kept it on the stock Kitkat rom until yesterday. I flashed TWRP and then HolyAngel's Skydragon G3, going with the Lollipop version along with the Skydragon kernel.
Booted up just fine, but my data kept dropping out. The lock screen message would constantly switch from "Verizon Wireless" to "Service disabled" every few seconds. Connecting to WiFi works just fine.
I've tried reflashing Skydragon, both Lollipop and Kit Kat versions, Skydragon kernel and stock kernel. I've tried flashing the nandroid backup I made before flashing Skydragon the first time. Each time the data connectivity issue has persisted. Calls and texts are out of the question and as a nice added piece of frustration, I can't log into my Google account now because I have 2-step verification turned on and I can't receive texts.
What did I do and how do I fix it? Help please!

Try flashing the 23b modem again: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934538781
I think you can only use the 23B modem for SD or Jasmine LP - anything else causes what you have going on. Also check your network setting and set it to LTE if it is set to global. Good luck.
Thank you! So to clarify, if I reflash the 23B modem zip file I'll need to be on either the Skydragon or Jasmine roms for my data to be restored?
I ask because I'm back on my (rooted, stock) nandroid backup, so if that's the case I need to reflash Skydragon first correct? Would It work with the kitkat version of SD?
Thanks again!

Yup, the 23B modem is for stock based Jasmine/SD lollipop ROMs, and the 10b/11c/12b modems are for KK (and AOSP) ROMs. So to clarify: if you're on SD KK right now then 12b is the most current modem you should use(ends in...7834.1) & if you're on, or plan on going to be on Jasmine/SD lollipop builds you need the 23B modem and can't use any older ones.
So just remember to flash the 23B modem when you use Lollipop stock based ROMs for now, and flash the 12b(or later) for KK based (or AOSP) ROMs. I've forgotten a few times myself going from AOSP where I use the 12b modem and have seen the effects of having the wrong modem installed on SD LP. It constantly drops and switches around between 4g and 1x or just no service.
*All the modems are available in post #4 of the Jasmine thread :good:
Okay, that makes sense. Thank you so much for the explanation. I will try this tonight!
