bootloop - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is GT-I9300 intl. rooted CMW 6.0.3...
I'm running Android 4.1.2 rooted
After wipe chache + fix permissions the phone started to reboot.
Tried to flash with stock rom via odin - flash ok but still reboots continuously in the same way.
Would appreciate your help how to solve the problem!

I have managed to avoid bootloop installing TWRP and wipe all again.
So far - so good.

Help flashed Kernel but not turning on

Hi
Urgent help needed bought another galaxy s2 for someone. Successfully rooted, cwm using odin and unlocked using Galaxy_S Unlock app from the market.
Then I got bit carried away and installed mui rom from rom manager, went ok went fine.
I got further excited and flashedstock Kernel_I9100XWKK5 via odin. It flashed fine boot galaxy boot screen turns on but then screen goes blank and nothing.
Still got cwm.
Flashed original rom BVKE2 but still same problem
Please help not sure what to do!!!!!!!
Hey, it seems a corrupt kernel is the culprit... in CWM, do:
- a wipe of a cache partition
- a wipe of dalvik cache
- install zip from sdcard -> Samsung Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script
- flash a kernel, like SiyahKernel 2.6.5
- reboot
if it doesn't work, try reflashing any custom rom (for example VillainRom)
thanks mate i think realised the error i made just flashed kernel and not the rom!!!
trying it now i've got boot loop now. step closer

[Q] Won't boot, worked fine, then bootloop, now it freezes (using CM9 ICS Nightly)

Hi Friends,
Model Number - GT-P7510
I recently rooted and installed the CM9 ICS nightly rom using the noob video instructions (This included rooting with Odin, installing CMW recovery 4.0.0.4, then I flashed the ROM cm-9-20120624 Nightly and finally flashed GAPPS-ics).
I over clocked using the CM9 settings and everything worked perfectly for about a week, it was great. Then it just crashed while I was reading my email and began to bootloop. After reading for similar errors I rebooted to recovery and tried wiped the cache and dalvic cache, I wiped data and factory reset several times but nothing worked, always the same bootloop. I re flashed the same ROM and still nothing, after a while the boot screen would simply freeze instead of bootloop.
Then I connected to my PC, and did this to no avail. In fact it simply added to the problem by adding a yellow warning triangle while attempting to boot so I did the Oden thing again like the first time I rooted however I installed CMW version 5.5.0.4 instead thinking it might help but it hasn't.
One last point, when I attempt to wipe data/factory reset the tablet seems to freeze and attempt to reboot rather than say something like "success" as it would during a cache wipe. This maybe normal or it maybe the problem! who knows?
On that point, I would be very grateful if some of you could help get me to the point when my PC recognises the tablet so I can reflash a new ROM.
Thanks in advance,
Karl
I once got the same problem. The only thing that helped was to flash back the stock rom via Odin with the pit file. And don't forget to do a hard reset after flashing the rom. I'll just stick to the stock rom until the official update is getting released.

Questions go in the Q&A section
I think the best way is still to do factory reset, go back to the stock ROM first and try custom HC ROM until the official ICS is released.

[Q] Help, bootloop after rom update

Hi everyone, i've got a huge problem with my i9300, i've got the foxhound/[email protected] rom since a week, and everything worked fine, i updated once without problems, however today i did the update with usual procedure, but now i've rebooted and i'm stuck on a bootloop after the apps optimizing part, where Android tries to optimize two apps, then open them, but then boot animation starts again over and over.
I tried going into recovery but it did not do anything, so i i tried flashing CWM via Odin, however now if i try starting in recovery only the samsung boot screen shows up and stays there forever.
Please help me

Go to CWM recovery and do a data/factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache, reboot and restore your apps.

Cyanogen bootloop every time

Hey guys,
I have a Samsung GT-I9300 (International).
I rooted my phone in order to get cwm recovery.
I placed the CM10.1.zip and the gapps.zip on my extsdcard.
I access cwm and install both via the menu.
Then I did a factory reset ´cause everywhere is written i have to do it to get past the bootscreen.
But apparently it doesn't work.
I tried every possible way to get it up and running.
reset -> flash -> reset
reset -> flash
flash -> reset
flash...
I searched on Google for hours but nothing helped so far.
Hope you guys can helpme =)

follow this guide step by step if problem still occurs contact me
1.Flash rom
2.Flash gapps (if isnt included to rom)
3.Wipe data&cache
4.Wipe cache
5.Wipe dalvik cache
6.Reboot (first start may take several minutes so be patient)
(its always possible that rom just isnt booting so try some other rom if this guide doesnt help)
press thanks if i helped
god damn it!
nothing works...
flashing kernel via Odin works 1 out of 10 times...
flashing rom works not at all
the whole day I'm trying to get CM on my phone -.-
I once flashed my kernel and everything worked perfectly, but no it just an enormous ****storm
and on top of it I freakin deleted my backup and now I can't even get back my old system
hell of a day
from where do I start flashing the rom if I do it a second time?
just "overflash" the old one or start from stock?
EDIT:// HOLY KAMOLY!
It justed worked! I just restarted it for the 42624726th time and now it works like a charm =)
I hope if I update it any time soon I don't have to pray to the almighty flying spaghetti-monster again
there shouldnt be any problem updating cyanogenmod just remember latest cyanogenmod is experimental and you should not flash any kernel anyway feel free to ask if your having problems
What recovery are you using?

HELP! Auto-reboot problem SG3 I9300

Help guys. So my problem is that, my SG3 I9300 is keep on rebooting. It'll just boot to my desktop for about 2-3 seconds then it will reboot again and again. I have to remove my battery for about half an hour and put it back on to reboot successfully. Another thing is that after it reboots successfully, when I use applications like FB / COC it also reboots on its own so as the stock camera application. Apollo is a system app like the camera right? But Apollo works without any problem unlike the camera.
I thought it is a bootloop problem, just like what I've said on my previous post. Sorry for that.
So here are the things I've tried:
1. Flash stock rom (from Sam mobile) thru Odin
2. Delete cache and factory reset in custom recovery
3. Factory reset on TWRP - Wipe everything including Internal sd - Flash Megawipe
4. Flash other custom roms thru TWRP/CWM
5. Flash stock rom thru Kies
The problem still occurs after everything I've done. So please help me
Thanks! :good:
Current rom: cm11 m12
Android version: 4.4.4 KK
Kernel: boeffla 2.7 NG

Try another battery if not it is a faulty power button or other hardware problem. I see you have tried other roms so this rules out a software problem....
