I have a EVO 3D from Virgin Mobile. I have unlocked the bootloader using HTCDev, S-off using the JBear wire trick and have the VM_ICS_2.95.652.5710RD_DEODEX_3-24 ROM installed currently because it was needed to do the s-off.
I was going to install VILLUMINATI but that failed to install so I tried HOOD POPE, Pac-Man and LiquidSmooth but all of them failed to install and gave me the failed getprop( ro.bootloader ) error. I currently have TWRP 2.6.3.0 installed as per the requirement for VILLUMINATI.
I then reflashed the DEODEX and the phone boots, no problems.
I'm thinking that something needs updated to be able to flash one of the aforementioned ROMs but I don't know what is needed. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Should I use the regular CDMA HBOOT 1.50 or the Juopunutbear Patched Hboot 1.50? I'm already unlocked and used the JBear S-Off.
I usually use the jbear 1.50.5050
Right now I'm using 1.04 eng
Any should work as long as its for CDMA
I am on Virgin btw

Hboot version ?
I have just posted a thread saying that I ran ruu whilst on hboot 1.49.0018 after the ruu had finished running I ended up with hboot 1.49.007 so running the ruu actually downgraded my hboot.
it depends on the hboot you have as stated by mnomaanw.
if you have 1.4 it'll be a lot easier. if you have 1.5 you'll have to use some work arounds everytime you flash a custom kernal.
a guide for 1.5 can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239821

Have you tried using the HTC method to unlock your bootloader?
I currently have the eng h-boot I ran revolutionary many months ago and then flash the eng h-boot. My question is this can I flash back to the revolutionary h-boot without running revolutionary and will I lose s-off? I tried searching but I'm on the xda app and could not find what I was looking for. Thank you in advance for any help

I don't know about getting back to the revolutionary hboot, but you can get back to the hboot that's almost the exact same as revolutionary, hboot1.4, by flashing a pg86img.zip through your bootloader. If you haven't had any issues with the ENG bootloader, there's no reason to need to change it though. It's up to you.
here's a link to both the hboot1.4 and eng hboot (just choose the one you want to download, both of them are in first post) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192306
So you factory updated to ICS changed the HBOOT to 1.53.0007 now you got S-ON SIMLOCK RESTORED again revolutionary no longer works what do we do

Easy question but I'm having trouble finding the answer. What is the most up to date radio? And how might I update it?
Thanks for your help.
Mean Rom 4.4
S-On
HBoot 1.15
Radio 1.05.11.0606
The newest radio is 1.12.0809. However per instructions you must be s-off or hboot 1.12.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right...in order for him to update he must relock and use the most recent ruu...only thing is that will also put him on hboot 1.19...but that's the only way an s-on phone can update firmware and radio.

So my question is what's the difference between HBoot 1.12, 1.15, and 1.19. I see a bunch of people downgrading to 1.12 from 1.19.
I currently have 1.12 S-On and am looking to change it to S-Off cause it's a lot easier to change ROMs around, I was wondering if I should bother upgrading as well or...?
Thanks!

If you have 1.12 do not update your hboot. You can and should run lazy panda to obtain s-off.

According to their site, Lazy Panda is no longer supported. Now you have to RUU to upgrade your Hboot and use Dirty Racun to gain S-off. With Hboot 1.12 you can flash radio updates through recovery, whereas the newer Hboots you can't, at least without gaining S-off first. Also, with Hboot 1.12 you don't have to flash the kernel separately from the ROM. Those are the main differences as I understand it.
