hi guys
i have a c6683 zu and have some annoying display problems
when i unlock the screen it gets vertical colored lines and then goes blank
i have to lock-unlock a few times to get to the homescreen
i've read that it's a sony software&hardaware issue
some broken update from them unlocked full frequency of the GPU and now it's messed up
is there a workaround?
i have the official .136 firmware

You just have to flash stock frimware again using flashtool and you are golden again..................:good:
Here a little usefull LordManhatten guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569904 you will find everything there is to for flashing..........
hi
thx for the reply
i flashed the stock rom kernel
from what i.ve been reading
sony via a broken update unlocked the gpu at it.s max speed making it unstable and causing this problem
one solution in my opinion would be to flash the stock rom that came from the factory
but i can.t find it anywhere
an other possible solution would be to write a custom kernel that would lock the gpu speed but i.m not a dev and i really don.t know how to do that
any sugestions?

You are the first person I've seen with the problem on here, so I dont think it is a wide spread problem
it is quite a big one
it.s only on the first gen of the ZU
a lot of theam don.t have it cause they have been called back in the service by sony
unfortunetly sucks at customer care in romania
they don.t even reply to your problem ...

Hi,
I'm flashing my Xperia s back to gb because of fast capture bug and would like your opinions.
Which version of gingerbread is the fastest and bug free?
Also, if anyone can upload it that will be great. I'm in the united states north America region.

What fast capture bug? Mine works?

You must be kidding. , flash gingerbread? WHAT???
If u have any problems with ics, make sure you are on the latest build, and wait for updates .

You will be laughing but one of the main purpose of the smartphone is to make a calls
In my case I have a problem with the main microphone - after some time of re-flashing to whatever ICS ROM the main microphone stop working - nobody hear me. There is corresponding tread on SONY support forum but I can wait forever so just yesterday I had to move back to GB....
So I have to join this question. Any answer?

For me, the .75/.76 GB builds are the fastest & most bug free :good:! I've myself downgraded several times, but can tell you one thing though that this latest ICS (6.1.A.2.45) is much snappier, although buggy (i've got QL & BE bug on ICS)! Anyway, if you go back to GB you will have no QL/BE/deep sleep issues anymore :victory:!

.75TW in my opinion
To your question: I highly recommend the latest GB KA ROM.
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
Many users don't notice but the latest ics still carries the quick launch bug, where it takes up to 2-3 tries to activate it from deep sleep. That was one of the main reasons I got this phone so back to gb for me.

Obviously this isn't a problem caused by custom ROMs. Send it in for repair or for a replacement instead of being stuck on GB.

Did you buy the i9100G vampire edition?
Jokes apart..if its hanging under sunlight, its probably overheating or if you've enabled auto-brightness, some problem with that. Try holding a flashlight on the light sensor and see if it hangs when the screen brightness changes.
I don't know if its a common occurrence with the G version. You could try asking in the i9100G forum. Might find someone with a similar problem.
Good luck

Thank you for the reply, i think it is the problem of auto brightness. I have unchecked the auto brightness option and i think it is woking fine.
I think it is software related problem, is there any way of rectifying it.

Also, yours is a G variant. Be careful if flashing firmware. Ensure you have the firmware for your variant itself. You can download it from sammobile.com

Hello, i was having the annoying problem with freezing touch screen when my phone was in bright sunlight. After 2 months of experiment... I found the solution. I really hope that will work for you guys as well.
So the only thing i did after installing ALL the custom roms and kernels available i did found the Gold one
I download the latest Official "Iran" ICS build for i9100g from sammobile.
Details>Iran 2012 October Android 4.0.4 I9100GJPLPB I9100GOJPLP7
And now my phone is not afraid of sun again Good luck guys let me know if it works for you too. :fingers-crossed:
same issue
Actually I loaded the Morocco firmware which is 4.0.4 also but still have the same issue ....!!!!!!!!! Could anybody confirm if it is totally solved in Iran's firmware !!!!

I guess you should try S5830DDKQ8.
Have tried almost 10-12 custom Rom on this Baseband and never showed problem plus wi-fi drivers of this ROM are considered the best by many ppl incl me.

Guys need your help. Writing because not very familiar with xperia p and don't know anything. coming from nexus and Samsung.
Bought my mom xperia and after she updated to jb phone started behave very weird I mean freezing from time to time touch screen not responsive and disconnecting call. In general became very slow as well.
What would be your advise do the factory reset and set everything one more time or flash the firmware from scratch. If the second one could you tell me where can I find step by step guide to do that.
Sorry for silly question but as I said I'm completely new to Sony.
Thanks for help

You should try both ways. I mean, take a factory reset and set everything again. If that doesn't work, you could download stock firmware from this thread if you want jb: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333145
of from here if you want ics and gb roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1938296
Here you can see how to use flashtool to flash new roms: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmmThXTWu74 . This tutotial is for arc s but the procedure is the same.
In any case i think ,since i read that jb on sony xperia p gives some problems, that you have to downgrade to ics (or even better gb since has good battery life and it's more stable) and wait for sony xperia p jb new firmware. Don't know when could arrive.
Thanks for quick response

Don't know how it was for htc mate. Could you give me some details?
You had to cheat a bit because bootloader was locked and it didn't allow you to downgrade just by plugging the phone and run the whole firmware flashing procedure but I presume that it's not a problem so I'll stop bothering and just try to do it if I'll have any problems will get back to you for advise
Thanks

I flashed my phone since I couldn't wait for the Hk update anymore. But its really buggy so I wanna go back to factory settings.

Faktory restore does not actually restore it to the delivery state it does restore it to a state like it would went out of factory.
So this means it removes all apps and settings. But hte Rom itself would stay the same
What was you delivery rom ?

Its the Hk edition. I got an update after I bought it so im guessing it was. 461. Not sure. Is there a way to know?

Oh i thought there is something to bring me back to factory rom. Thanks alot ..
When it was running it was super smooth and good but a couple of times at like 3% battery it just dies then wont turn on for a couple of minutes. Screen has is lit but its black. So i just thought id wait for the official HK since i really wanted to try 510 and did.

I did not had this issues. But i dont have the c6802 i jave a c6833.
Hk and other customizations will not doffer. It is the same base firmware,so all issues you may have on another region firmware you may get with the hk firmware too. (speaking about NOT crossflash between devices).
Firdt advice on problems: do a FULL wipe and start from scratch again. No restore of backups or other bull****, just do it all manually. Sometimes it does magic
