Hello Guys,
I have a Question, which I don't know if it shall be here or in the Q&A section. But, as it is a useful question for development I posted it here.
So, que question is fairly simple: How can I know where the ID Register stores data to know in which mode the USB Slave is? I mean, how does the Phone detect the resistor we put in the ID Pin of the Micro-USB and where in the kernel code is it used to put the device in the correct operating mode?
If you clarify me this, that would be wonderful!
Thank you very much,
Roque
bump, anyone?

Probably no answer because there's not much to either question.
Try posting all relevant information, i.e. make/model of the device, and firmware you're trying to extract.
some more info
Thanks for your answer...
I have to admit that no answer IS an answer
I was expecting a generic way of doing it. However here is my model. It is a Chinese device - K8GTA from 51cube.
It has SD, USB and i can connect to eat and flash firmware...
Hope that is good enought info! Thanks.
Hi!
I am trying to find the logcat(s) of my phone. It runs on CM7.2 RC1 with void#echo and I can't get a logcat. I already tried the following:
-Log This: Gives no result, aside of System Environment Information
-adb: "Unable to open log device '/dev/log/main' : No such file or directory."
I could not find said directory with a File Manager either. I guess the logging function is somehow disabled. How can I enable it?
Thanks for helping!
Bump
Was the question too stupid or too difficult? Anyway, here's a bump to try again....
Someone?
Anyone? :'(
Nope users dont feel like helping ignorant people like yourself .
Was the question too stupid or too difficult?
Try Samsung forum .
jje
I am very sorry for being ignorant, but it's exactly the reason why I am asking this question.
Your answer was nor really helpful, I won't go to samsung (if there were a Samsung forum, I only found the one from Cnet anyways) to ask for a solution for a problem with a flashed device.
Could it be a kernel issue? all I could scrap together from the old Void /Phoenix kernel is that "Journalism" is removed....
Hello!
First of all i apologize if this is in wrong section, the forum is too big and the search functionallity either doesnt work or there are no topicks on my question.
I would like to root my tablet Gocleaver a73 and put the cyanogen mod on it, but i cant find the right information on where to get the apropriate software for my device, or i get information in polish which is vocally similar to my language but writing is completly alien to me.
I would like to ask annyone who knows what to do, to atleast point me in the right direction on where to download the right version of the rom as im pretty new to this and not shure which software will not brick my tablet.
Aggain i apologise if this is in the wron section and i would like to politly ask admins to move it in the right slot.
In addition i would like to say thanks in advance to annyone who can solve my problem
Cheers! , Freek

usb mass storage

First of all, thanks for this rom. I switched from the GE one to solve my dialer and gps issues, which it did.
I am noticing, however, that "android system" is using an unusually large percentage of the battery.
On a full charge, with the phone in airplane mode, in 9 hours overnight it used 30% of the battery.
Any suggestions?
Nevermind... the GPS was on and draining.
Two other things: 1- Ti Backup keeps asking for USB debugging to be on, and I can't find it on this rom.
2- the usual rwmount for the system doesn't work. What would the command on this rom?
Thanks in advance.

I've moved on to another rom (CM12 from AntaresOne), and while this may not be the answer you're looking for: on my current rom (and the recent ones in the past including this one if memory serves), the device doesn't mount as USB storage like the old days. It mounts now as a MTP/PTP device to accomplish the same thing.

Don't have much experience with Macs, but I'm suspecting it's a Mac issue, rather than the phone's.
Doing a quick search pulls up the following:
XDA Link
Other Background Link
Yup. It's Apple's fault.

Hello everyone, I have a question:
Do someone know how to communicate with a device via serial port, using a DOS software on android?
Context: I am working on engines with an old HALTECH F9 (ECU from '90s), and communication is made by a serial port (RS232). For this, I am using my computer on W10, using DOS Box and a PL2303 cable (drivers supplied), and It is working very well. But, I would like to have a more volatile setup, using my Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, and a DOS Emulator. Unfortunately, i tried Magic Dos Box (paid version), and it doesn't work using the ttyUSB0 config in the config file. I read that i need an application to communicate with the PL2303, so I intall Serial Port Terminal, and it detects my PL2303 (and led goes blue on the cable). With more and more research, I am not a developer so I would like to know if someone already does that kind of setup, and how if it is possible.
Thanks everyone ! GTX
