[Q] Revert to stock/locked - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I haven't used the device in a while and don't even remember the procedures I used to unlock/root the device.
I was hoping someone could give me a quicky tutorial on flashing stock recovery and system so that I can claim warranty.

I may be mistaken, but I think some may wish to know the reason of your warranty claim. I have seem others get turned down on help due to fraudulant reasons for warranty claim.
So the only help you would get from me is read. It hasnt been that long that you have unlearned that part of the process.
Sorry my friend.

On a pc open kies and select firmware upgrade and initialization. Type model number in ALL CAPS, then serial number.

That's really pessimistic.. Dude the hardware is aged. Main issue is bad USB connection. Running kies may become an issue. We'll see.

U have to admit, some people have wanted to do a warranty claim for some really irresponsible reasons. We all nullify our warranty once we take that step.
No bad feelings here. You probably didnt even have to state a warranty issue.
Imo
Good luck

Flashing Rom with a different SI

Yesterday I got fed up waiting for my SI to receive the update so I downloaded the ftf file and flashed it via flashtool. But knowing that it's for a different si although everything works fine including the keyboard and everything else I wanted to know what is the difference or it doesn't make any difference installing a Rom with a different SI ?

Nope. Unless you unlock the bootloader.

How does it matter if it voids your warranty? Your warranty doesn't any way covers hardware damages. And software damage can be repaired by flashing a wokinf ftf using flashtool.
Thanks,
Rick
Yeah, but the thing is SI numbers will be different from the back of a phone with the one in service menu. And also, this rom will lack all the T-mobile crap and bloatware they usually put there
I really hope you're right and if the day comes when i have to go to my mobile operator with the warranty, they dont give me hard time because of this... But hey, i can blame myself for being inpatient and them for being di*ks

Hardware damage does not necessarily mean that phone has to fall or hit something to get damaged. There are alot of hardware components that can go 'bad' on them own. Manufacturing defects that can happen to a whole batch of phones where for example motherboards burn out etc...

I don't think that the warranty is worth keeping your bootloader locked.

Yeah, i'll probably unlock it once when i decide to put some other (rage perhaps) kernel and OC the phone, but untill then it stays locked.

Can I root using just my phone

Can I root my phone using just my phone or do I have to use a computer. I don't have a computer right now. I am wanting to get 3g speeds on my unlocked phone. I'm using it on cincinnati bell.

I can't say it'll be easy without a computer but if you use Mobile-Odin and flash this. It'll install SuperSU and ClockWorkMod but I'd recommend holding off until you have a computer (its just easier on a computer)
Also, you won't magically achieve 3g speeds on your phone if you root it.. You may want to research into that a bit more before you take this plunge unnecessarily.
Ok ill wait. I had a s2 that I rooted. Do u know how I can get 3g speeds. I have researched this and havnt found ne thing

Your phone supports 3g right out of the box.. Maybe your carrier has restricted your service to 2g or you don't have coverage in your area.
No, you can`t root your phone from the phone afaik and Mobile Odin needs root before you can use it

Yes, you can, read my reply
Of course the device needs to be rooted for Mobile Odin to work. Quote from the dev:
"Your device must be rooted to be able to use Mobile ODIN"
Otherwise it would mean that ANY app can simply overwrite or rewrite your firmware which in itself would be a major security risk.

That's exactly the way I did it.
-Rooted with exynos abuse 1.40 (phone was on 4.1.1)
-installed mobile odin for flashing recovery and kernel
After that I could do everything out of CWM.
So my S3 never saw a pc

Does any one have a link to exynos? And I'm running stock 4.0.4 right now. Also I know unit really supposed to ask and is your own preference but I'm just curious what are the more popular stable roms out there. I like themes a lot lol. But I want one that has decent battery stats and can boost my Internet speed. I know that's possible bc a guy at a phone store had his rooted and on cincinnati bell and he had a lot my options than me.

[Q] One click Root?

I found this website http://www.oneclickroot.com/phone/htc-droid-dna/ I was wondering if it is a scam. Has anyone seen this?
I wonder if this works with the new OTA update. It would be sweet if it did.

Anyone willing to try this? I'm curious as to how it works considering the only methods out there right now require getting superCID then using HTV Dev to get the unlock code and the former no longer works...
Also:
The Droid DNA is also plagued by a battery efficiency problem.

It just seems fishy doesn't it?
To me, you would think this, being a pretty big development, would break here on XDA.
While I am hoping its true, as I am holding off until something like this is released, it just seems a little to good to be true.
But go for it if you want!
Just follow a guide on here, it's pretty much dead simple to unlock your bootloader through HTC. I highly doubt this is legit but in the time it took you to make this post and wring your hands about it you could have unlocked the bootloader, rooted and installed a custom rom.
netstal trembley
im not saying its not legit but, like said a couple of posts above, if it was legit, i'd think it would be xda by now
My theory - If no one has commented anything at all and there's no one to vouch for it, don't become the martyr or the first victim.
I'm happy about the feed back from you guys. This is the reason I posted it here, because I knew someone would have a good insight about this topic.
I'm staying away
Thanks

Click the download button and it says right there that it won't work. Only supports android up 4.0.3, and no HTC devices although they hope to support them in the future. It's virus free according the VirusTotal, but I still wouldn't use it on a supported phone without confirmation from someone else that it won't ruin it.
Hi, I'm one of the people behind the development of One Click Root. I can assure you our software does not contain viruses or any other malicious code.
The poster above me is correct. We currently don't have support for HTC devices as we're still working on a few of the finer details of automating HTCDev.com bootloader unlocking. We do hope to add support for HTC devices in the near future, along with a number of the most popular new devices on the latest ICS and Jelly Bean OS versions.

Turning S-On to S-Off

How do I turn S-On to S-Off because there two pre-requirements to install Elegancia ATT/TELUS OneX+ V6.1.0, one is by flashing the kernel flasher or having S-Off. I wanted to have the S-Off because by having the S-Off I don't have to flash the kernel flasher. I wanted to do that instead because when I download the kernel flasher it wont show up in my download folder(Where I download the file) and i'm having problems with the file on my computer.
S-off is currently not possible for the One x+,but there is a thread which is discussing s-off

Something is messy here

I recently bought Samsung galaxy quattro for a friend and i noticed that in settings its written 4.1.2 in about phone which i claim is not.
1) First you can't expand notification via single finger, you need to use 2 finger.
2) Memory leak issue.
I think its 4.1.1
What's your thoughts guys?

Strange. Samsung doesn't have reasons to modify build.prop. Your friend could use Odin to reflash stock ROM, it might solve these problems

Yes, I can. But, before flashing the stock rom, bring the device to authorized technical assistance, since it's still on warranty.
