Xperia U not Booting
Device: Xperia U
ROM ST25i_6.2.A.1.100_unofficial_v16
Kernel Experimental v12
Suddenly Stopped working
Not booting i can feel the first vibration pulse then after 5-8 sec again it vibrates
Charged battery fully checked voltage its fine 4.18v , removed then reassembled still not booting,
if i connect it to PC it detects and shows internal storage; detects in fast boot too, so i re-flashed kernel ( Experimental v12),
Still its not booting the problem remains the same
Tried a hard reset with power and volume keys. Still no change.
any solution on this or any one has experienced this issue please help
Thanks

after flashing kernel you should have cwm recovery. Do a nandroid backup to preserve data then flash stock ftf using flashtool.
After flashing ftf phone will boot. reinstall rom/kernel and then extract the required data (messages / appdata etc) (many apps available on playstore search)
Do not restore the nandroid backup as it will cause softbrick again.
ftf here

is this what they call bricked phone?

So I've got a Xperia X10 mini pro. It had a CM7.2 on it and some nAa kernel. I've downloded another rom and flash it. Everything ok.
When I wanted to reboot the phone after the flashing, CWM said something about some CWM error or something like that. I've ignored it and now the phone gets stuck at the booting process.(powers up, sony ericsson logo apears and nothing happens). If I put the battery in, it sometimes powers up by himself. I can't get in flashmode(back key, menu key...none of them works). Windows recognises something like SEMC bla bla.. I already have a rooted, flashed Xperia Neo so I'm not exacly a noobie, but I'm a noobie at x10.
So, any thoughts? Thanx alot!

You need to flash the kernel appropriate to the ROM.
You are on Stock kernel, and not some nAa one, so your last ROM had CWM (or xrecovery) included. This is not included in ROMS that run on nAa kernel because the nAa kernel has got it built-in. That's why it disappeared when you installed a new ROM, now find the kernel that belongs to it.
I can't flash any kernel, any rom or anything because the phone can't get connected to PC, no flashmode, no nothing. The led isn't blinking or anything not even when I connect the charger.

If you take out the battery it works sometimes you say, so take out your battery, f it powers up and gets stuck on the SE Logo, connect it to your pc, press power and home buttons together to get a hard reboot, as soon as the screen goes black, press the back-button to get into flashmode. ofcourse make sure your software is asking for flashmode before you do all that.
what I mean by powering up by himself is that it acts like I'm powering it up but it still get's stuck at se logo. I'll try the hard reboot thingie.
PLEASE try this.
remove your battery.
use flashtool to flash the 2.1 firmware of SE. or use SEUS.
connect your phone to the PC and be ready for flash mode.
hold the back button.
then insert the battery while holding the back button.
it will go to flashmode.
then start flashing the firmware.
afterwards you will be reverted to 2.1 eclair.
connect to usb debug
then root your phone using flashtool.
unlock the bootloader using s1tool.
flash the nAa kernel using flashtool.
put the zipROM on your SDcard.
enter the cwm recovery.
wipe data/cache/dalvik cache then flash the rom.
if you encounter an error on flashing the rom e.g(you experience flashing in just a very short time, then the rom is not flashed) format your SDcard then redo the flashing.
I hope this helps.
PS. on some cases, when your phone is bricked. you can directly flash the nAa kernel then flash the rom.

How old is your X10minipro? I'm asking this because of your LED notif lights are not working. you maybe need to read this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1935124
I after some research I supose I've deleted the recovery( xrecovery area). For those who say to press any combination of keys it doesn't work.
I got the phone in service, they said it needs flash but the gay phone wont comunicate with the pc so they didn't promise anything. I will return with news.

Yes, I told you that you removed xrecovery, because it was included in the ROM that used your stock kernel. You then flashed a ROM that needs a custom kernel, and it is included in the kernel then, so not in the ROM anymore. That's why you lost it. but that has nothing to do with flashmode however
thats the reason I've got it to service. Something wrong with hardware or boot area preventing the phone getting into flashmode( I suppose)...
Thanks
thanks for the thread now I able to do more than just rooting more save
The X10 mini is up and running. He had recovery and not a CWM(as I have now).
The problems was with the USB port, and it still is but I/ve managed to get it connected with Flashtool after removing and putting back the battery while holding he back key .
After 2 service shops and 2 weeks of waiting they both said to me "There is a comunication problem with the phone. Sorry!"
So, if anyone has problems like mine, they should get their usb port changed(5-10Euros) or try for as much as they need to get the phone connected( I tryied for almost 1 hour to get the green led and another half hour to get a stable connection as it whould get in flashmode but not being recognized in flashtools PS: changing the position of the data cable by standing up or down/more to the left or more to the right helps ).
Thank you all for the feedbacks!!

[Q] Crazy phone behaviour after flashing..

Hi guys, I've installed many CFW without problem, until I installed the latest PACMan build. I didn't like it so I reflashed the Hasa v6, that i've been using for a while, and the phone just got kind of "crazy". I tried to wipe/format/wipe delvik, flash another rom via recovery, flash the stock FW with flashtool, still the problem continue.. I'll try t make a short list of the problems:
- Lockscreen usually hangs the phone, screen goes all black and playing with the power, after a while, it goes back sometimes
- Some force-closes (mainly the system process)
- Sometimes I can't boot to CWM, the "back" and "option" touch-buttons keep lit, and that's it, sometimes I can
- Also the battery status doesn't seem to be working properly, I charge it and it never pass the 30% mark, or get stuck on a number beforr it
How can I do a "brute-force" wipe, or something like that to restore my phone to it's normal state? These issues are driving me mad, and I can't see a solution..
Thank you very much!
The device is a Sk17i Mini Pro
Try flashing a kernel like LuPuS v3 or MESA Hybrid v3.7 via Fastboot and then flash the latest ROM that was working flawlessly.
Thanks, I tried with mesa and Lupus and after that, the same issues seem to occur..
Adding problems:
- I started having the "build prop" error, always when I flash CM-based roms, and I never had this issue before these problems (I do the workaround to install them by editing them with notepad++ and removing first lines..)
- The phone, once in a while, stay with the back and menu buttons lit for ages..
- The phone doens't turn off completely (menu and back and the screen stay lit, the screen is black, but it's ON), the only way to truly turn off is removing the battery..
- When I choose "power off" from the bootloader, the same issue occurs, the screen stay lit in black and phone doesn't turn off..
Please help.. I just don't know what is happening and it is so frustrating.

Xperia U won't boot. Help needed

Hello.
I have rooted the xperia U using the flashtool by following a guide available on xda. Everything worked fine. I wanted to install a custom rom for which I had unlock my bootloader and flash a custom recovery for flashing the rom. I downloaded and flashed cwm. So I unlocked the bootloader using the official method, i flashed the boot.img of the custom rom(in fastboot) and tried to go to recovery, but my phone wouldn't switch ON now.
I was able to make it reach flashboot mode(green) and tried flashing ftf.. Even that's not working.
The service update software is not even detecting my phone.
Please help.:crying:
When you say, not switching on, can you feel it vibrate when you push the power button?
Also whats the error you receive on flashtool?
Yes, i do
But the screen is blank and I can only see the red notification light

May be you flashed wrong kernel, which is not for your phone.
Try to charge the phone for a few hours and after thats try flashmode again to flash stock rom...
same problem
Actually I am facing the same issue u had with your Sony xperia u. Please help.
Charge the battery, seems gone flat. Leave it on charge for half an hour or so. If that doesn't work maybe the software is corrupted to the point it doesn't cold boot to charge, so charge battery separately using external charger for half an hour or so. It should be able to boot at least to flash mode (Vol Down + Power).

Is Freeze, i reboot the phone with power + Vulmen up, but y have bootlop, and i can't start in DFU MODE, HELP!!
Same Problem
Same here I was also installing the same AROMA ROM but for Sola. And I keep flashing the rom because It doenst install Gtalk. I tried formatting the system in CWM then tried to flush it again but it bootloops. Now I tried flashing the Stock Firmware but it doesn't continue up to 18% only then stopped, hangged. I dont know what to do. Please some can help.
I have mor or less same problem
I have a Xperia U and triying to port JB to it I briked two or three times.
I hold power botom and it vibrate and doesnt happen anything ok.?¿
The possible solution could be this(for my works)
Charge the phone like 1 hour for my doesnt charge with the animation but its for security.
With the nest steps you are going to lose all CWM and tweaks and apks but personal data still there.
You have two options:
Flash a new rom with flashtool, but when you pluged with volum - you hold it for allmost all process becose for my i conect to PC and its goes quikly so i cant do annything.
If the phone is not recognised by Flashtool:
You have to repair it with PC Companion or Bridge for Mac, and also the same hold volum - almost all process.
For my it works, tell my if for you works:cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:

After installing CM 12.1 forXperia M C1904 shuts down automatically while in standby

Recently I installed CM 12.1 in Xperia M C1904, after installation, the device doesn't recognize SIM Card, also on dialing *#06# no IMEI Code appears, and the device shuts down automatically while in standby. The device doesn't shut down when its connected to PC or power source. Only way to restart the phone then is to remove the battery and putting back the battery, and the device just stays switched on for like 10-20 mins and same thing happens. What to do?

Are you using an incompatible version of CM? Did you do a clean install or dirty flashed on another ROM? Custom kernel? GAPPS version?
Did you try restoring from backup (don't tell me you didn't backup!)
Try restoring from backup and doing a clean install.
Post a link of the guide you used.

I installed cm-12.1-20160112-NIGHTLY-nicki from official cyanogenmod device site (can't paste the link due to restriction)
First, I tried to unlock the bootloader of Xperia M (when Xperia M had the stock ROM). After unlocking the bootloader, the phone went into bootloop (soft brick) so I downloaded a firmware for Xperia M C1904 (C1904_15.1.C.17_Generic IN) and flashed it using flashtool. Now Xperia M had Android 4.1. Then I installed TWRP recovery with TWRP Android app and flashed the given zip ( cm-12.1-20160112-NIGHTLY-nicki) with Gapps (open_gapps-arm-5.1-pico-20151225) and installed the CM 12.1 successfully, only issue was that the device didn't detect SIM card (I tried the SIM in other device and worked fine) and blank IMEI number displayed when *#06# is dialled. Then another issue arised, inspite of full charge, when the device is in idle state, it switches off automatically, I can't turn on the phone anyway, but, only by removing the battery and place the battery again leads to the booting up of phone and again after 20-30 minutes it switches off and this goes on. But when the device is connected to power source, this shutting down doesn't happen. I tried to revert back to stock ROM but the flashtool doesn't recognise the device. And no, I couldn't take a backup of the stock rom (I thought of taking backup after installing the recovery) I badly need help! No Custom Kernel was installed, just Gapps and ROM

I'm no expert here, but I'd recommend Wiping Data and doing a clean flash of the latest nightly (20160113) and flash GAPPS with it before rebooting. Also check if you have the latest version of TWRP. For your device I would recommend using CWM or Cyanogen Recovery but TWRP should work fine. Tell me how it goes :fingers-crossed:
