Hi!
I have a Locked BL Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman.
I have been testing different custom roms but every time i install it i can't use Foursquare over mobile data. Using it on WiFi is fine and even if i tether to my iPod I can do check-ins from there. All the other apps work well over mobile data. Any suggestions? If i can't use Foursquare on a Custom ROM i'll go back to stock but it sucks a lot.
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie here who has recently installed wolfbreak's rom on my Xperia X10a which is now showing up as an X10i? Not sure why?
My soul reason for installing this rom was for getting hotspot capabilities so that I can share my 6gb data plan
to my WiFi only Motorola Xoom tablet (Xoom wont do ad-hoc connectivity). Everytime I attempt to use the Hotspot option, I get an Error within the Wireless & network settings section of the rom, particularly int eh Tethering and & Portable hotspot section. When I click Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, just below that menu option Error is displayed. Is the hotspot capabilities working within wolfbreak's rom or not? Is it something that I need to further configure?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think tethering is an option on the X10 yet. From my recollection, it is due to the bootloader being locked up. Your best option would be to get barnacle wifi tether from the marketplace. I was successfully able to tether my computer and an iPhone 4 using that method. However, for some reason, other android devices weren't able to connect for some reason. Not sure if there is a fix for it though. Test it out and let me know if you are able to tether your xoom.
Looked it up, there is a possible work around for android devices to connect to each other using barnacle.

Good luck!
thanks for your reply but still no luck
Wolfbreak, could you clarify for us if your rom supports hotspot? It is within the settings but as you go to select it an error occurs.
Barnacle wifi tether worked for me till I got my internet set up at ny house

Requires the hacked kernel... i think.
If I'm not mistaken, Barnacle is still doing adhoc connectivity which is not "hotspot". Android 2.2 is supposed to give u hotspot. The Motorola Xoom tablet does not support adhoc hence the reason why I need the hotspots option working on my X10. I want to share my 3G dataplan from my X10 to the Xoom. Otherwise, I'm returning my Xoom.

Hacked Kernel? Which one?

Solutions anyone?

I thought the bootloader has been unlocked / hacked as well?

The bootloader has only been bypassed. The new kernels are essentially loaded without the bootloader. In terms of having the capability to load custom kernels the end result is the same though.

If I (or anyone for that matter!) help you, dont be afraid to press THANKS!
are there any custom Xperia X10 roms out there that fully support hotspot capabilities?

That is correct. Though the only custom kernal that support wifi hotspot etc is the FreeKernel by zdzihu. Though they only work on stock 2.1. :/
Take a look at all the kernals here..

being a newbie to the scene... it's all greek to me. Is there a custom kernel for baseband 55 for wolfbreak's rom? Apology if what I asked does not make sense. Im confused about the whole rom / kernel / baseband developments.
The custom kernals are only for baseband .49 and .52. Though it says on wolfbreaks thread that you can flash the baseband patch and then flash the kernal. try it out
Wifi tethering Works fine for me though

Had to revert back to stock Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 rom today as I got the "Process System is not responding". Wasn't sure how to fix it without flashing back to original stock rom.
I can / was able to WiFi Tether as well but that is considered to be an ad-hoc connection which the Motorola Xoom does not support. Hence the reason I really want hotspot working on the Xperia X10.
I really don't want to ditch this phone but I'm coming close to letting it go for a Nexus S.
Well it's official, im getting rid of my Xperia x10. Posted it on kijiji. Ill most likely still follow the developments on the x10 as my sister still owns one and I can tinker with hers as you guys make further progress with the custom roms and kernels. Best of luck.
Hello,
i have testet the rom ftom achotjan
Its a nice rom but the apps like online radio or market or facebook app wont work
Over mobile data.
Just wifi
Pls help
I am now off from my university for the winter break. In my university, I use a manual proxy for WiFi to connect to the internet. I can access any websites and download stuffs through my Internet browser;but when I click default internet requiring apps in my SGA like Android Market, YouTube, GMail, etc. it's not getting connected and gives me "no connection" error. When I use my mobile 3G network ,everything works fine.
At home, I don't use a proxy and everything works fine too. I was using Gingerbread 2.3.4 stock ROM. Now I have flashed CM 7.1 and everything works fine at home like before. However, I am going to my university in 48 hours and I just wanted to ask you guys that why am I not able to access Market,GMail,YouTube etc. in my university through manual proxy?
No one?
My friend with Samsung Galaxy Y is also facing the problem with the manual proxy connection. But people with SpiceMobile, Sony Ericsson, etc. seems to have got no problems.
Hi,
I am using FXP114 (CM7.2) on an Xperia Mini Pro. I use OpenStreetMap (OsmAnd) as a mapping application. In Settings -> Location & Security, I have "Use wireless networks" enabled to determine my location. I have WiFi and Mobile Data connections turned on, but GPS turned off.
Now, in OsmAnd, when I hit "Where Am I?", I keep getting
"Position unknown yet",
when I should be getting my location based on cell towers. This used to work just fine with the stock ROM. Does anyone know whether this is a known bug in FXP, or how I can fix this?
Thanks!
It's probably a problem in the velocity of your connection by data, or just that your application can't deduce your position just with your data connection. I don't know, but if the application work with data connection, you must be able to use it. Just make a test: with the news and weather program which comes with the gapps, try to deduce your location with the data connection. For my phone (SK17) worked!
Hi,
well, as I said, with the same phone/provider/app, it worked when I used the stock ROM.
Thanks fpr your suggestion, but I really want to keep gapps off my phone, plus I don't have a google account. What's another app I could use to test if it works there?
Thanks!
I tried with various other apps, like OpenSatNav, aMetro, MIUI Compass, and positioning via mobile network just doesn't work.
Is there anybody out ther who has this working with Free Xperia and the Mini Pro?
Thanks!
Probably seems like a ROM bug, if another apps also do not work.
Just realized another possible cause: I don't have gapps installed. Since network-based location is so closely tied to Google in stock ROMs, maybe it does not work on FXP when gapps are not installed?
Is there anybody out there without gapps on their FXP and working network-based location?

That could be the cause.
Apparently, network location only works with gapps. To avoid installing them all, you can just pick the right apk manually, see here:

Worked like a charm for me!
Hello,
i've been using Omnirom for quite some time now, but i'm experiencing problems with my mobile data connection.
when I am using a touchwiz based rom, like Revolution HD, everything works fine. but when i am using a ASOP based rom like cynogenmod or Omnirom it doesn't work.
my mobile phone indicated that it has H+ connectivity, but no data can be transferred, apps like whatsapp and facebook seem to be function fine, but when i'm using apps like youtube or snapchat, it won't load.
could someone please help me with this issue? I'm willing to donate to the developer of the rom, but my mobile data is essential.
