Should I just be ignoring those?

Not to worry...its flagging them as dangerous because they have root privileges...DPI changer allows changing screen settings more or less dots per inch...xposed installer allows you to install exposed and its modules to customize your device...fast dormancy is a startup tweek that helps boot faster...and net.cactii.flash 2 is torch app which needs root to allow higher brightness setting...all safe...anti malware apps always flag root apps and settings

[Q] Xposed

What exactly does Xposed do? Is it only a developers' tool, or can a noob/novice use it?
There's a 100 threads about exposed do a Google search

Here's the easy answer for this question. According to the Xposed website it changes the behavior of the system without touching APKs. If you are rooted then you can install the framework and download modules from the App (or other places) that you want to use. Using the stock rooted Rom, an example of a module that works is Sense 6 Toolbar. It modifies a lot of things in the system that you normally couldn't You have to reboot after installing the framework and you must reboot after activating a downloaded module in order for it to work. You activate modules within the app.
That's the simple version. You can google the finer details. I always get the installer from the website.

[Q] Greenify useful without root?

Is it worth using the app at all if I am not root? I do not plan to do so for awhile so I want to use the app as it is but is there any real value in attempting to save my battery?

If there's no root the only benefit you lose is; practically nothing. The boost mode is the one that offers so much. The "non-root" feature is there for a reason. I believe, it will benefit you :good:

Thanks, this can easily be uninstalled if it fails to benefit me right? I know there is this auto-hibernation mode but I was reading the description about having no lock screen for it to work. I currently use the fingerprint scanner on my Note 4 so I am not sure if Greenfiy will work with this.
Is there any difference between the root and non-root mode aside from the automation differences?
Does root mode also force close apps in the background to achieve app hibernation or is it a different method from the non-root mode?
i cannot figure out how to uninstall greenify (non-root). Uninstall button in play store is not there - only deactivate is shown and brings an error that some administrative thing needs to be removed first? I cannot clear cache or stop the greenify service in the App list because its all greyed out. Please can somebody help me?

Settings, Device Administraor. Uncheck Greenify. That is what "deactivate" means.
Additionally, if necessary, switch off Greenify in SETTINGS>Accessibility before uninstalling though it may not be necessary.

The hibernation method used in both modes should be almost identical IMO. A possible delay of reopening a greenified app should occur in both modes, as the greenified app's process needs to be recreated. However, the root mode brings a few more benefits which could be inferred according to the root exclusive options provided in the "Experimental features" option.
since this thread is about(ishhhh ) root, i have a quick question concerning v2.5 final, doesnt greenify need root permission anymore? i installed the lastest version in a fresh installed rom, selected some apps to greenify but even in root or boost working mode, it didnt ask to give root permissions. so i ask, is this normal in this version?

Did you enable the options in Experimental Mode that are meant for root?
Also check your Supersu settings to see whether you have enabled the setting for the app to not ask for root permission on updating.

AFAIK, you can. However have a nandroid ready, to be on the safer side.
Well after a lot of screwing around, I think (at least for
my circumstances) I "may" of found the answer. Because
the error said something like "auto hibernation service is
being blocked by 3rd party tool or system settings
(ex.stamina mode in sony devi es. autostart manager in
MIUI) Please whitelist greenify for automatic hibernation
to work", I uninstalled Donkey Guard and Cydia Substrate
(they were installed a couple of days before I got the pro
version of Greenify, even though there was no problem
with them before I got the paid version of Greenify), but
still got the error. Ruling out program issues, this time I
actually shut down my phone (no reboot or soft reboot)
and on opening Greenify, no error. Since I was using the
reboot toggle in "Notification Toggle", I tried rebooting
through xposed (not soft reboot) and this time, no error.
Tried again with Notification toggle and got the error.
So, at least for me, I think I may have solved the
issue.....for now.
BTW thanks TechnoSparks as you gave me something to
work with.
Try this my friend collin did this and it worked

Make sure you have SuperSu (latest)
Also after installing Greenify, set it as a device administrator.
Settings>security>device administrators>select Greenify.
Enable accessability as well
(settings>accessibility>Greenify>Enable.

Similar problem here. Superuser authorization window didn't pop up during the first setup and it ended with setup without root. But I could select root+Xposed working mode after that, and it seems that Greenify works well now.

Uninstalling/deactivating the Xposed component and then rebooting will allow privileged mode when root selected assuming Greenify has been converted to a system app.
is the privileged mode needed when I already have root + xposed. Does it give me some other features ???

Why would that be? Seems privileged mode is an ideal fit for Android N given lack of Xposed support.

Go to your ROM's Settings>Security>Device Administrators and enable Greenify.
Go to Settings>Apps>Draw over other apps, usage access and enable Greenify in both.
Go to Trouble shooting in Settings of Greenify and open each option and enable them.
If you are not rooted, then permision under Accessibility in Settings of the ROM has also to be granted.
After granting the permissions, reboot and check.
