no response on dna after digitizer replacement - HTC Droid DNA

So I replaced the digitizer on my dna and afterwards I get no response from the phone. So I was thinking the screen was DOA, and I ordered another digitizer from a different seller on ebay and still got nothing. I plugged it into the pc to see if I could force it on, I did the hard reset, and stilll no response. All cables are perfectly fine and were cleaned with alcohol. Bought a new battery and still nothing. What could it be? Help please.

sounds to be a motherboard issue

Double check those ribbon cables that go from the main board to the front camera/headphone Jack. The ones held on with two screws . Unhooking them and reseat , be sure your hearing or feeling a click. They are very precise.. if you are absolutely sure they are seated correctly redo battery connection. .... if all checks out .... just place it on charge for a long time. Maybe your board is dead

[Q] HELP!!! broken black wire/connector inside HD2

Hello all.
While I was taking my HD2 apart to replace a cracked screen (glass digitizer) I accidentally broke the connector off one of the wires. The wire is black and a few inches long with a silver and round press on connector on each end. It attaches to the board that houses the vibrator motor and runs down the right side of the phone (if you were looking at it face down and partially disassembled).
Unfortunately, I lost the metal piece that broke off the wire (the thing is tiny!), so I can't just solder it back on. Any idea on where I can buy a replacement? I've spent about 6 hours today on ebay and google to no avail. Searching for "HD2 black wire" and anything similar is hardly efficient, but that's all I know about it.
Any help appreciated.

Good question, I think I damaged the cable to the volume buttons so it would be cool if someone has an adress where we can get spare parts except LCD and Digitizer..

connector of my hd2 is also broken HTC says that the mainboard must be change and I have to pay € 230 because that is my responsibility
I think you have damaged your coaxial cable connector for wifi and bluetooth. Google will help you perhaps.
I believe that my wifi/bluetooth cable is broken, as I have no wifi or bluetooth signal since dropping my phone as reported in a previous post of mine. Can anybody advise me on the difficulty of undertaking this repair myself, does it involve complete disassembly of phone, any soldering etc. If this is the case I don't feel confident enough to do this so does anybody know of someone who does this sort of repair, I have found the cable on e bay for £7 and it looks like it has push on connectors ?
if the connectors on the boards are not broken then all you need is the coaxial cable with connectors on the two end. you need not disassemble the whole set, just open the back cover, connect one end of the cable to mother board and other end to the rigid flex board and that's it.

Do you think that this is my problem as since I dropped my HD2 I have no wifi (unless sat ontop of router) or bluetooth or fm radio, is it easy to get to the coax cable by removing back cover, whereabouts is it ?

Fixed it, opened up phone and spotted that at one end of the black wire the connector was not pushed onto the motherboard securely, I pushed it home and hey presto, wifi and Bluetooth now working, phew, Thanks for your help !

GS3 won't charge unless I bend the charger or push really hard

Hi guys,
So far I have used 3 chargers. A Verizon green 10ft long charger, the charger for my Nexus 7, and a Verizon car charger.
Basically when I plug any of these chargers in it will show it is charging for a split second, then it'll go away. So in order for it to charge, I have to push the charger in really hard, push it down, or bend it to the right. If I bend it to the right, when I let go, it stops charging. Sometimes I can get it at the right angle to keep it there, but I come back later and see that it isn't charger. Also if I push it in really hard, bending it to the right stops charging it.
The Verizon car charger has been the best for me (not as bad but I still have to bend it), but I use my nexus 7 charger for it most of the time.
This is super annoying, how it's real hard to get it to start charging and even harder to keep it. None of the pins on my chargers look crooked, nor inside my phone. I don't know if there is a fix for this, I might just take it to Verizon.
Anyone with the same problem or know of a fix out there? Thanks!

I've had that problem to and with my fiancée's s3, I need to push it in quite hard to get it to start charging but my girlfriends s3 I need to do almost the exact same as what you've described bending it pushing it, I think we where on our 5th charger for hers before it just refused to charge anymore it is definitely a problem with the phone we sent hers back and it was fixed under warranty, we were told by T-Mobile that it was a common fault with the s3 but it was repaired and now works perfectly, we have the international models. The only fix is it to send it back unfortunately hope this helps.

This is a Verizon certified phone. I only got it about a month ago. I'm a little scared to get a replacement. I actually had a Rezound before, and I went through 4 malfunctioning Rezounds and weeks of not having a phone before I called up verizon and they offered to switch my Rezound for a certified S3. It's great in all other ways, that's why I'm afraid to replace it with a phone that has problems with using the phone itself.
Okay, what is going on here. I made the cord tight and angled it to get a charge. It was at 42% last night when I started charging. I got up and the red light was still on, but the phone was still at 42%. It seems only angling to the right will it charge normally.
This is so annoying. So it's the charging port on my phone then? Maybe I should get the manufacturers charger, maybe I'm just using chargers not really compatible with my S3? Because my car charger works as soon as I plug it in. I mean if I turn in my car a lot it will stop charging and I will have to readjust the connection, but it's not nearly as bad as the charger I'm using at home.
Get it replaced and done with, mate. It's hardware problem. And not with the charger.

How long did it take for you to receive your phone back? I'm sending my phone to Samsung for repair. Sounds like it's going to take about 2 weeks, which is unfortunate. I just went through that
There is a simple fix!!!
I previously had to post this to a different forum so im posting the solution to this forum.
This issue can be fixed easily, you just have some stuff to fix it with. It's not only the connectors that's dirty, It's also the bottom of the micro usb port, it can easily be blocking the the connector from connecting all the way in. Here's how i fixed mine:
The first thing you'll need is some rubbing alcohol
Some Q-Tips.
The second thing you'll need is a very small sewing needle (go ask your grandma for one )
The third optional thing you'll need is some compressed air WITH a straw thing at the end
First off, remove the battery of the phone and set it somewhere.
Then get your sewing needle and dip it into the rubbing alcohol (helps clean the residue).
Then DELICATELY take the needle and clean ALL residue on the bottom of the port. Do this and make sure ALL residue is gone.
Then take the Q-tip and dip it in the rubbing alcohol.
VERY GENTLY take the Q-Tip and put very little pressure against the charging port.
Take the needle and go for a second try for the residue and let it air dry, OR get the compressed air and CAREFULLY blow out the rubbing alcohol and dust out of the charging port.
Put the battery when dry and turn on phone.
This will effectively clean the charging port AND the bottom of the port.
This has probably an 80% chance of working. It worked for me!
Plug it in and see if that works!

[Q] Friend Dropped onto His S3 , Now not charging?

yup face-palm he had his s3 in back pocket riding bicycle drunk home, fell off bike right on backside, phone taking most the impact.
the screen doesnt seem to be cracked just a small chip on the edge near camera.
he had it in a double sided leather padded case so we dunno how it got chipped
very small crack on body above usb port, but i think that crack is common.
the main point being the phone will now not switch on, is not charging or accessible via usb. no led nothing. button combo's do nothing. battery change no help
do you guys reckon it'll b worth replacing the usb port? or just a spares repo?
you can't replace the usb port unless you buy a motherboard, desolder one from there and solder it on your old one, which obviously doesn't make sense and won't work anyway, because the phone is clearly broken. The phone would switch on if the port was broken if there was any charge in the battery

well you can just buy the usb ports from part stores.
and yup i made another face-palm, its not the usb as a fully charged battery wont power it lol
im just gonna assume when he landed on it he just bent the motherboard and crushed something/many parts lol.
kinda strange he damaged the internal parts but not the screen.
he bought it like 6months ago so i doubt samsung or t-mobile will help eh.

Power flex cable replaced, Phone not powering on.

Okkay, so I have taken phones apart before and never had any trouble.. but theres always something that can go wrong.
My dumbass went to the beach with my Note 2, and got sand in the audio jack port, and i cleaned it out as good as i could and well i still couldnt listen with headphones. So i decided finally to take the back off and get a better look. There was indeed sand still in the audio port and i gently got it out.
but of course i accidently tore the power flex cable /button ribbon on my way of taking the phone apart. so, i ordered a replacement flex cable. replaced it, and yay the phone does not still power on. this is the type of cable that doesnt need soldering, its just a plug in/push type.
so, the phone does NOT power on at all..
the screen DEF does NOT have damage to it, .. considering everything was perfect before my dumbass decided to take the back off the phone.....nothing else is damaged i went to extremes to take the board off even to make sure, everything is fine!
so, other than the power cable/button, what could be causing the phone not to power on at all now?

USB C Port Not Charging, Recommendation for Replacement?

Hi All,
I have a Nokia 7.1 that stopped charging. I cleaned out the charge port and tried different cables and adapters but nothing worked. I've since come to find out that it's a common enough problem that lots of people post about it on Nokia's support forum with no other option other than taking it to a service center. I'm in the USA and there's not a single service center in my state so I decided to try and replace the daughter board myself. I've done this kind of thing before on other phones, my Nexus 4 was a frankenstein's monster by the time I was done with it.
My problem is I can't find a reliable source for a quality part. There's tons of replacements on amazon, ebay, aliexpress and other random sites but all the ones I've read had issues for connectivity of cell service or wifi. Does anyone know where I can source a new daughter board for this phone?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

My 7.1 developed the same problem. What is the root cause? Is it mechanical problem of the connector pins worn out/oxidized? It does seem to be a mechanical problem since I can still wiggle the cable to make it charge for a while. What puzzles me is that the USB-C has inherent redundancy with 4 power and 4 ground pins that it should not easily fail. I have a phone with the old micro-USB and the charging still works flawlessly.

I'm not sure. It does seem to be a mechanical problem, but I've seen some repair videos where they open it up and just run a soldering iron over the connector pins on the board and it starts working again. I've ordered a daughter board and a replacement back glass panel in case I break it trying to get it off. I'll update after I get the parts and open it up to see if it works.

It seems like the ~$10 boards are missing some chips that the ~$20 ones have, at least according to the pictures that were uploaded with the listing.
@bpowdhar, Thanks for the quick reply. I did order a connector board on Ebay, and it looks to be of the ~$10 variety. I'll see how it works when it gets here. I will also try the "melting the solder" trick without removing the connector first. If that works, I'll leave the old board in place just to minimize the risk.
So I received the USB-C charging board and replaced the bad one. Now, it seems to be charging normally. It took some work to open the back cover by heating to soften the glue/tape around the edge. I then used an a xacto knife to pry the corner open followed by dragging an old credit card to slowly separate the cover. Once it's open, everything went smoothly. Just watch one of several Youtube video clips to know what to expect. You do need a small Philips screwdriver and a #5 Torx driver. You need to lift a ribbon cable and a micro coax cable from the board. Just don't forget to put them back on to the new board. I didn't bother to fix the old board by re-solder the connector pins because they are way too small for my solder iron.
I rely on the existing glue/tape to glue the cover back, but I'm sure it's not as water/dust proof as before, so I may redo that part to clean the old tape out and use the new tape or glue when I have more time.
I do noticed a couple of parts missing on my $9 board. I don't know if they have anything to do with regulating the high voltage fast charging. I usually charge the phone with a 5V adapter, and I will stick to 5V, at least for now.
Thanks for the update! I'm still waiting for my board to arrive from Amazon. It was delayed with the new shipping date anywhere from Nov 5 - Nov 10 and it still hasn't arrived. It sucks because tracking info shows that it arrived at my area's sorting facility on Oct 29 and left it on Nov 4. So it should have only taken a day or two to get to my local post office and to my house. I'll update when it finally gets here.
I know it's been a couple of months, but I finally got the part and swapped it out yesterday. The battery was completely dead so I plugged it in to charge and left for the day. I came back to it this morning and it's at 100% battery! I'm so happy now! I've attached a couple of pictures showing the old board (with the red dot) and the new one. So far no connectivity issues, but I'll give it a couple of weeks to see if anything changes.
A couple other notes:
It was surprisingly easy to get the back glass off. I used a heat gun on low and ran it around the perimeter for a couple of minutes and a utility knife to cut the adhesive. This part was what I was most apprehensive about tackling.
The fingerprint sensor comes off the same way, apply heat and press / pry away from the glass to reuse.
If I had to do it again, I'd buy the tube of sealant. The replacement glass came with a set of narrow adhesive strips and those were a pain to deal with.
