Not sure what is going on or if this even the cause. But I am not able to get emoticons any longer in either Handsense or GO SMS Pro. Is anyone else having this issue?
AM S-off and unlocked running Nils k5.7 Rom. Have restored from a couple of Nandroid backups with the same results.
Any help is always appreciated.

Yes, I just noticed this yesterday. I have used emoji before in the .10 ruu
So i did some testing from vzw to vzw from a user that has an iphone and she can send them all without any thing failing, however someone who has sprint iphone sends things ans some do not work ( most ). Another person who has boost ( also sprint ) sends corrupted emojis as well, not all, but most are bad.
I think this could be a carrier thing to be honest since this is the first time i seen this yesterday. Now who is to blame is unknown.
I have been using the .10 leek since it has come out and its been working fine til now

Thanks for the comeback. Occasionally I get one and it seems that it works after real text. Switched to Newts Sense 4.0 Rom and have a little better success. Also using Handcent. The ROM BTW is terrific. Fast and no errors up till now.

I still think this is a carrier thing IMO just b/c it works vzw to vzw.
Maybe someone else can confirm this?
Anyone else having this issue? All of a sudden, my phone has done this about 6 times in the past week, and twice so far today. Haven't had any other issues with my phone since launch. Been sending the error reports to HTC for whatever good that does...

Stock? Nope... haven't ever had a random reboot.
I had that problem with my launch day phone, exchanged it haven't had the problem since. Try a clean wipe to see if that fixes it.

Have you messed with the background processes in developer settings?
I had this the first couple of weeks on my launch day LTE Evo. The problem just seemed to work itself out. I didn't do anything different, but it seemed that the phone ran better after the phone settled in.
I can't explain it, but it runs like a champ now. The only annoying thing that it has now is the multitasking issue. Because of this, I believe I'm going to try CM10 since this was my daily driver on my Photon (CM9 that is, since CM10 wasn't out yet).
Have you installed any new apps lately around the time this started happening? I had this issue of random reboots back on my Photon. It ended being an app causing it. One I removed it, the random reboots stopped.

Anyone's Phone app completely fail on them , regardless of ROM?
Dialing a contact & getting no activity?
It'd be nice to get at least an error or network fail message but neither happens.
Receiving calls is oddly enough ok.

Sorta same issue. Anything to do with a contact is the fail at the moment. Composing text message; type in name with no results for 15-30 seconds. Dialing out; same deal. Receiving calls that I have saved in contacts, only 50/50 recognizing caller and matching to contact with name and or pic. Composing email, same deal. It's kind of annoying. Feel like I'm back to the Hero days where it took everything at least 15 seconds to recognize like things as this. Running meanRom 5.7 s-on. Issue for me has been getting worse and coincidentally it feels its getting worse with updates? Personally I'm thinking about downgrading a few to see if it clears. Only thing stopping me is finally reaching that point of being tired of it and doing it.

YES omg it's so damn annoying. As a result, you can't pull up people from your contacts, caller IDs don't show up, and I keep getting acore errors (actually this could be the source of the issue). ICS problem?
The only rom I have ever gotten this issue on was viper. Every app that was related to the phone eg. sms, dialer, 3rd party sms, or anything would be hella slow. Back running mean rom and everything is smooth as can be....
Currently running meanrom on my lte, i do not have this problem.
I been having this problem and its been pissing me off. It didnt start happening till a few months ago and I didnt notice it right away. Maybe it was with the Viper 2.02 update. It had me trying to switch to another ROM. Strongly been considering CMX. Maybe ill try Meanrom before i go pure AOSP
MeanRom has just solved this problem with the release of version 6.2. If you are experiencing contact or messaging lag try the newest version of MeanRom and you will be happy. I was experiencing this same log and it was getting ridiculous. Mikey has figured it out and implemented it in his latest rom so get it and love it. By the way, MeanRom has been moved to the Original Development forum now.

Are you wiping properly before flashing a fresh rom? Cache, dalvik cache, system, and factory reset all need to be wiped to make sure the new rom has a clean slate.

This happens on bone stock evos too. Android central has a few threads on it. No solutions.

This goes without question, of course. Still the issue persists.
It was happening to me too and what I ended up doing was unsyncing all my Facebook sync stuff and after that I haven't had any problems with dialer or sms or emails, they pop up instantly. It's annoying that they can't fix integration like that but give it a shot and lemme know if ur evo gets better

Just curious if anyone else has had to reboot their phones to get mms messages to start working again after this last update? Could be purely coincidental and just something with AT&T general, but would like to know if I am the only one here.

I had an issue with SMS where I had to reboot. Can't quite pin it down yet either, but I am on .12 too.
I haven't noticed any sms/mms issues with .12. I've been running Scott's rooted version since the day it came out.
I have been experience some random sms issues before the upgrade where I can't send any MMS. If I put the phone in airplane mode and take it back out it works. After the update, I haven't seen this happen anymore but it has only been 24 hours so time will tell.
Ok, well it's good to know I'm not the only one. Assuming it's just AT&T related then and not firmware related as person above is not running stock.

I have HTC ONE MAX and I have problem with gps.[echo] it installs NAVIGON and it cannot find and lock the satellites, it writes me constantly waiting of signal GPS
got the same issue with any navigation software after updating to 4.4
contacted htc about it, telling me that it has to be a hardware issue and i should send it in.
as i do not believe it is hardware related, i was wondering if i could be able to roll back to 4.3?
I had that problem when I updated to sense 6 on my Sprint One Max. They also told me it was a hardware problem. When I went back to 5.5 it was fine.

How can I downgrade from 6.0 to sense 5.5? GPS is giving me a hard time on my sprint one max.
I've got the same problems opened a thread about location services not locking in and dropping out I have same problems with navigon. And my weather app either shows the weather for my location being United kingdom which is precise as f*** OR just the main city I live in its used to be very precise before giving specific town I was in. I upgraded to 4.4 and then sense 6 custom. I would rather roll back to a 4.3 Rom but haven't really seen any yet. Navigon was a bit better today I had location mode set to high accuracy but it did lose its way on an hour journey home about 3 or 4 times.

Got Sense 6 upgrade on August 19, and my GPS has been way off ever since. Any advice on how to downgrade from Sense 6.0 to Sense 5.5 so I can have accurate GPS back would be really helpful.
GPS Issues - Wonder if Lollipop will fix this?

Hopefully this helps someone. I have always had issues when switching back and forth from different ROMs with the navigation on this device. Never any other. First make sure before switching ROMs make sure that you have locations enabled in settings. Then after you have everything installed go into settings/display/gyroscope calibration and g sensor calibration. That worked for me. It would show me way off of my path, laggy, constantly changing my course especially at a stop light. The compass gets all fubarred. Weird as I had a HTC one, HTC DNA and never an issue.
